In Cheng Chen’s memory, his family during childhood truly was under a lot of hardships.

He’d been born close to the region of the Loess Plateau. Before, the family had even lived in caves. All together, he had around seven or eight sisters and brothers; and he was a middle child. From very young, he would work with the older ones, so later on when he had the opportunity to study and go to school, he felt like it was so good it was like working in heaven.

Among all his brothers and sisters, only he continued studying resolutely and finished school.

It wasn’t that the kids of poor families couldn’t go to school and learn, it was that they many of them felt like there wasn’t much use to going to school, and the adults at home didn’t feel like it was important either, so the ones who really finished school and made something of themselves were far and few in between.

Because he’d gotten afraid of poverty because of his household, Cheng Chen’s biggest childhood dream was to one day produce food. No matter how much time passed, his dream was resolute and straightforward.

And it was because of that extreme poverty, that he developed his current arrogant personality and attitude. It was as if he unconsciously believed that if he was the same as before, then others would look down on him.

Cheng Chen was aware of Xu Nian’s family situation.

That’s why, although at the start he’d called Xu Nian a ‘damn homo’, in his mind he didn’t really look down on him.

This little boy was too clean.

Pretty, clean, a hundred thousand times cleaner than his birth from that yellow dirt.

In their circle, whenever they had sugar babies and lovers they’d usually complain about things about them to each other a bit.

Things like, I’ve been giving money for such a long time, yet they’re still so uptight.

When not enough money is given they get unhappy.

Apart from in bed, they wouldn’t think about taking care of me in other ways.

They’d take advantage of being liked and throw fits and act spoiled.

Xu Nian didn’t have any of these (issues).

Cheng Chen didn’t know how much other sugar daddy’s would give, but he was smart and was prideful, so he got an approximation from some big bosses he was acquainted with and basically knew how much. Then, he would only give more, that way it would show his magnanimity.

During this year, Xu Nian had about saved up at least a few hundred thousands, not even counting the fact that Cheng Chen had paid in full for his mother’s hospital fees and surgery fees.

Not just once did Chen Di ask Xu Nian if he truly did have Cheng Chen in his heart.

After placating him a few times, in the end Xu Nian said, a bit helpless, “If I didn’t like him, then why would I still be pursuing him right now?”

Chen Di frowned and replied, “Well maybe you guys are just playing some sort of romantic mood-setting game?”

“…….” Xu Nian was silent for a moment, then asked, “Have you ever seen a romantic game where a low income citizen like me treats a big boss with a net worth over a billion to kobe beef priced at 1200 yuan per person?”

After a pause, he seemed to be really feeling pained. “Ha…1200. And he didn’t even let me reimburse it.”

Chen Di：“……”

He couldn’t help but ask, “What exactly made you like our boss?”

Xu Nian thought about it, then said, “He’s rich.”

Chen Di：“……”

Xu Nian continued, “And he’s quite handsome.”

Chen Di couldn’t continue listening. “Can’t you say any reasons with substance?”

Xu Nian smiled but stayed silent. In actuality, he understood pretty clearly that with Cheng Chen’s horrible attitude and personality, it was likely that the people that had been his sugar babies before had taken his money then gotten as far away from him as possible, much less like him. He was probably the only one who was rushing to be close.

“He treats me really well.” Xu Nian suddenly said. “And at the start he didn’t look down on me. Although he’s a bit blunt and crude with his words, but, I know what he means in his heart.”

Chen Di endured his mushiness. “……then are you still going to accept the money from when he was your sugar daddy?”

Xu Nian raised an eyebrow. “Of course I’d accept it. When the day comes when he really does sleep with me, then I’ll stop accepting.”

Chen Di: “？？？”

He didn’t understand, when he gave money you guys didn’t fuck, but then when you guys finally fuck then he doesn’t need to give money? Who in this pair is actually winning and who’s losing?!
