Chapter 4

Xu Nian sat on his sugar daddy’s leg and finished the beef bowl.

He could tell that Cheng Chen really did feel extremely agonized by the experience. Afterwards when everyone was preparing to leave, he immediately stood up and pushed Xu Nian away as if he was swatting away a fly.

Xu Nian didn’t mind, and simply cautiously and conscientiously followed behind Cheng Chen. In the end at the door, when Young master Qin had his arm around the male celebrity’s waist and was all lovey-dovey as they bid them goodbye, Xu Nian very dutifully went and squeezed himself onto latching onto his benefactor’s arm.

Cheng Chen：“……”

Young master Qin laughed as he said, “Your kid is really sweet.”

Originally, the arm that Cheng Chen was preparing to use to shove Xu Nian away stiffly stopped in its tracks. Then, he purposefully made himself out to be serious yet also came across as smug as he said, “Nian nian is just too clingy with me.”

Young master Qin tutted, then said to the celeb, “Look at how he is.”

Xu Nian’s smile was very perfect, no matter who looked at him could see that he looked like he was deeply, incredibly in love with Cheng Chen. When young master Qin and the rest of the people left, Xu Nian hurriedly removed his hand.

Cheng Chen’s expression was seriously ugly to a max, yet he wasn’t able to say anything to scold Xu Nian. After all, this kid hadn’t done anything to make him lose face the entire night. His performance was truly exceptional.

Chen Di drove the car over and picked them up. Cheng Chen was the first to get into the car, and he got into the backseat. Just as Xu Nian was moving to get in as well, Mr. Patron pointed to the front and gruffly said, “Scram over to the front passenger seat!”

Xu Nian’s mouth twitched, and was, of course, happy to not have to sit with him. He eagerly moved over to the front seat.

Chen Di said, in a fawning tone, “Boss, where do you want to stay tonight?”

Cheng Chen had his arms crossed over his chest, and sent him a look. “What are you asking me for, first send him back.”

Xu Nian was dumbfounded. He looked towards Cheng Chen through the rearview mirror and found that the other had his eyes closed and seemed to be resting with his eyes closed. He’d evidently decided to go the ‘see no evil’ route.

Xu Nian told Chen Di the hospital’s address. Cheng Chen’s eyebrows moved a bit at that, and so Xu Nian unthinkingly explained, “My mother’s health isn’t so good, so she’s recently been staying at the hospital.”

The inside of the car was silent for half a second, then Cheng Chen suddenly harshly shouted, “Who asked you?! You’re thinking too much!”

Xu Nian：“……”

There weren’t all that many cars since it was the middle of the night, so it didn’t take too long before Chen Di had driven to the hospital. Just as Xu Nian got out of the car, Cheng Chen suddenly rolled down the window an inch.

Xu Nian： “?”

A bank card was slid through the crack. When Xu Nian took it, the other’s hand withdrew extremely rapidly. There was a ‘swoosh’ as even the opened car window completely closed up.

Chen Di didn’t have a choice but to explain to Xu Nian. “Inside the card there’s some money, in the future every start of the month there’ll be money transferred to you. The password is six zeros. When the relationship ends, then you can return this card back to the boss.”

Xu Nian obediently agreed. “Okay.”

After thinking for a bit, he ultimately went closer to the car window and said, with the utmost sincerity, to the person inside, “Thank you boss, I will definitely repay you well, boss.”

Because the car window was pitch black, Xu Nian couldn’t see Cheng Chen’s expression. Chen Di awkwardly smiled, then waved “Goodbye”.

Xu Nian stood outside the hospital door, and only moved once even the back light of the car couldn’t be seen anymore.

Inside the hospital room Li Fang was already asleep. Xu Nian quietly got some hot water and washed his face, then laid down in the little bed beside hers still in his clothes. He stayed lying down for a while, but didn’t fall asleep, so he took out the card in his pocket and carefully examined it for a bit.

Li Fang moved a little in bed. Xu Nian quickly got up and took a look at her. Fortunately his mother was just flipping over and still had her eyes closed.

Xu Nian laid down with great care not to disturb her. In his hand, he tightly held the bank card, which was clutched close to his chest.

After thinking more about things, Xu Nian couldn’t help but smile. He looked down at the surface of the card again but his smile still faded.

Outside the hospital was a sky as dark as a blackscreen, there were no stars nor wind and the window curtain covered the glare of the neon street lights. Occasionally there would be the sounds of cars passing by on the road. Xu Nian silently laid in bed, then finally closed his eyes.
