Entering the village, Yuxiuxiu’s face was tinged with a smile as he looked at the small village with its rising smoke. He enjoyed this peaceful and harmonious atmosphere.
"Brother, you’re back," from a distance, Yushiniang stood at the door, waving to Yuxiuxiu.
"This is my little sister," Yuxiuxiu introduced to Jinlin.
As they approached, Yushiniang, being a young girl, became shy at the sight of a stranger and greeted Yuxiuxiu softly, "Brother."
Yuxiuxiu smiled and pointed to Jinlin, "This is the elder brother I just recognized today. Call him 'Elder Brother'."
"Elder Brother," Yushiniang said timidly.
Jinlin smiled, "Nice to meet you, little sister."
Jinlin fumbled in his clothes and then took out a large pearl, handing it to Yushiniang, "I came here in a hurry and didn’t prepare any grand gift. This pearl is a token of my goodwill. I hope you won’t mind it."
The pearl was flawless, emitting a gentle glow that brightened the dim courtyard. Girls are naturally drawn to beautiful things, and though Yushiniang’s eyes were full of desire, she looked at Yuxiuxiu.
Though the pearl was worth a fortune, it was nothing to an immortal. Yuxiuxiu nodded, "Take it. This is Elder Brother’s good will."
"Thank you, Elder Brother," Yushiniang happily accepted the pearl.
Yuxiuxiu extended his hand to Jinlin, "Elder Brother, please come in."
Jinlin entered the courtyard and, looking at the dilapidated thatched cottage, said thoughtfully, "Brother, your life is indeed hard."
Yuxiuxiu smiled slightly, not minding at all, "My sister and I have relied on each other since childhood, living on wild vegetables and the village’s charity to survive until today."
Yuxiuxiu then laughed, "One must be content with what one has."
Yuxiuxiu personally cooked a pot of fish and said to Jinlin, "There are no seasonings, so it might not be to your taste. Please don’t mind it."
Jinlin smiled, "Don’t say that. I’ve always been a rough eater, not one for such delicacies."
After eating and drinking, Yushiniang went to rest in the house. Yuxiuxiu and Jinlin sat in the courtyard, looking at the bright moon in the sky. Jinlin said, "Brother, do you know about immortals?"
Yuxiuxiu nodded, "Of course, isn’t Elder Brother an immortal?"
Jinlin laughed, then looked at Yuxiuxiu, "I don’t know if this is right, but I can’t repay the favor of saving my life. The path of cultivation is fraught with danger, but it always holds the hope of immortality. If you’re willing, I can help you today to step onto the path of cultivation. However, the path is perilous, and becoming an immortal is difficult. Do you have the courage?"
Jinlin’s words were about guiding Yuxiuxiu onto the path of cultivation. Yuxiuxiu had been recently exercising to lay the foundation for cultivation, and he was worried about it. Unexpectedly, this opportunity came to him.
"Brother, since ancient times, who doesn’t yearn for immortality? Today, the door to immortality is open before me. If I don’t cherish it, I will regret it for the rest of my life." Yuxiuxiu bowed deeply to Jinlin.
Jinlin supported Yuxiuxiu, "This is all your good fortune. You have done me a great favor. For me, immortality is within reach, just a wave of the hand away."
Yuxiuxiu’s eyes sparkled, "Please, Brother, grant me the great method."
If Yuxiuxiu didn’t cherish this opportunity now, he would be a fool. As for joining the Taiping Sect, the old beggar’s instructions, and the Taiping Sect’s foundation-building method, Yuxiuxiu had his own judgment. No matter how powerful the beggar was, he couldn’t match this living immortal, his new elder brother.
Jinlin nodded, "Very well, the path to immortality is full of storms. Since you admire immortality, I will naturally guide you onto the path."
As he spoke, Jinlin took out a golden-yellow scale, about the size of a palm, with tadpole-like characters carved on it. The characters moved and changed, very mysterious.
"This is the foundation-building method of my dragon clan, called the Supreme Dragon Transformation True Art. It is the great transmission I received after crossing the Dragon Gate and unlocking my bloodline’s wisdom. It is the supreme art created by the Ancestor Dragon in the chaos, which will surely lay a solid foundation for you and increase your chances of becoming an immortal."
Yuxiuxiu took the scale, looked at the moving characters, and said to Jinlin, "Thank you, Brother. However, my body is weak, and my vital energy is severely depleted. I wonder how much time it will take to step onto the path of cultivation. Please, Brother, give me some guidance."
Jinlin laughed heartily, "Your body being depleted is not a big problem. As long as it is replenished, it’s not an issue. With my help, even if you are severely depleted, it’s nothing to worry about."
Jinlin then looked at Yuxiuxiu, "This Supreme Dragon Transformation True Art is very powerful. Dragons can grow large or small, soar in the sky, or hide in the marsh. If you practice this art, it will save you a lot of trouble if you want to join a supreme sect later."
"Please, Brother, explain further," Yuxiuxiu was a bit confused by Jinlin’s words.
Jinlin crossed his arms and looked at the moon in the sky, "There are nine supreme sects in this world, and the founders of these nine sects are all legendary immortals. Therefore, each of these nine supreme sects has its own supreme true art, which is the highest scripture pointing directly to immortality and cannot be easily transmitted."
Jinlin then said meaningfully, "If you learn any magical power before joining a supreme sect, you will have a mark on you. The magical power will no longer be pure, and the supreme sects will not transmit their supreme true arts to you. The supreme true arts are the gateways to immortality and can only be learned by true disciples. To learn the supreme true arts, you must pass various tests. Any doubt will prevent you from receiving the great method."
Yuxiuxiu began to understand Jinlin’s meaning. If he cultivated magical power before joining a supreme sect, he would be cutting himself off from the true scriptures. The slightest trace of magical power would not escape the scrutiny of the sect’s immortal founder, and he would never have the chance to learn the true scriptures.
Yuxiuxiu’s mind raced, looking at Jinlin. This man was an immortal and naturally had no shortage of supreme true arts.
Seeing Yuxiuxiu’s gaze, Jinlin smiled bitterly, "If you were of the demon race, I could transmit this true art to you without any problem. But you are human, and this true art is for the demon race. You cannot cultivate it."
Jinlin explained, "Our meridians and acupoints are different, and the methods of cultivating magical power are different. Even if I gave you this true art, you couldn’t cultivate it."
Yuxiuxiu nodded silently and then asked, "To become an immortal, must one join a supreme sect?"
Jinlin affirmed, "Only the founders of the supreme sects are true immortals, holding the true scriptures of immortality. Other sects, though powerful for a time, ultimately lack the gate to heaven and cannot achieve immortality."
"This Supreme Dragon Transformation True Art is the only method I can give you to cultivate. This method will lay the foundation for your path, allowing you to conceal your magical power in a secret place in your body. Even immortals would find it hard to detect it without careful examination. Once you join a supreme sect, you can use the Supreme Dragon Transformation True Art as an auxiliary method, and your progress will be rapid. When your magical power reaches a certain level, you can transform the magical power of the Supreme Dragon Transformation True Art, making your magical power pure and deep, and your chances of becoming an immortal will be high."
Holding the scale in his hand, Yuxiuxiu didn’t know how precious it was. The true art recorded on it was for the demon race. Once a cultivator’s first strand of magical power is born, the nature of the magical power is set and cannot be changed. However, the Supreme Dragon Transformation True Art could change the nature of magical power, which was truly incredible.
Next, Jinlin took out a jade bottle from his chest, containing a deep purple liquid.
"This is the lightning essence I received after transcending the tribulation, which remains in my body after being refined by lightning. This drop of lightning essence contains boundless vitality. It can not only make up for the deficiencies in your body but also increase your potential." Jinlin handed the jade bottle to Yuxiuxiu, "Just drink this lightning essence, and it will help you make up for your deficiencies, step onto the path of cultivation, and cultivate your first strand of magical power, truly starting your cultivation journey."
Yuxiuxiu looked at the jade bottle in his hand and bowed deeply to Jinlin, "Great kindness cannot be repaid with words. I will repay you in the future."
