"Indeed, there is a ruin ahead!"

Qin Mu followed the herd of beasts, suddenly noticing the terrain ahead lowering, forming a canyon. Within the canyon, there were many ancient buildings, palaces scattered about, a spacious square, and towering high-rise buildings.

In front of this ruin stood a towering gateway, connecting both ends of the canyon, with thick pillars adorned with dragons.

The herd of beasts was charging towards this gateway, rushing into the ruins.

"The darkness is coming!"

Qin Mu looked up, his scalp tingling. He saw the darkness flowing down the canyon walls like ink, pouring into the canyon!

This darkness would soon reach the gateway of the ruins, submerging it!

The herd of beasts became even more frenzied, rushing madly towards the gateway. The beasts became extremely dangerous, colliding and trampling each other, and one misstep could result in being crushed to death.

Senior Brother Qu's other hand didn't manage to grab the other young man in time, and he saw the young man fall to the ground.

Senior Brother Qu and Senior Sister Qing were horrified. They saw that the front of the young man's body was still intact, but his back was completely devoid of flesh, as if something in the darkness had eaten it all!

"What is in the darkness? How can such a thing exist?" Senior Sister Qing exclaimed.

Senior Brother Qu calmed himself, exhaled a deep breath, and said solemnly, "When a person dies, it's like a lamp being extinguished. The two junior brothers died while fighting evil and defending the righteous, and they died a glorious death. The little demon intentionally came to this ruin just before the darkness arrived, surely to use the darkness to kill us!"

The other young man, filled with righteous indignation, said angrily, "He is also in this ruin, surrounded by darkness, with nowhere to run! We must find him, tear him to pieces, and avenge the two junior brothers!"

"There he is!"

Senior Sister Qing saw Qin Mu jump off the giant beast's tail and immediately exclaimed, "Little demon, you killed my two junior brothers and still want to escape?"

Senior Brother Qu's face darkened, and he stepped forward. "The little demon is good at deceiving people. There's no need to waste words with him; just kill him!"

Just as the three were about to act, a low, deep roar echoed, startling them. They looked around and saw that the ruins were filled with hundreds of beasts, including some lord-level beasts, all looking at them with hostile eyes and baring their fangs.

Senior Brother Qu felt a sense of foreboding and took a step back. The beasts, seeing that they didn't attack, also remained quiet, making no further moves.

Qin Mu was amazed. These beasts usually fought over territory and prey, but now they were peaceful, which was very strange.

"Could it be that these beasts have a rule that they cannot fight in the ruins?"

Qin Mu blinked. Many of these beasts were natural enemies, yet they were peaceful, confirming his guess. The villagers often said that beasts had spirits, and the demon ape he had seen could speak, calling him "little one." These beasts might have indeed set rules here.

Senior Brother Qu also thought of this and sighed in relief, whispering, "Don't act tonight. Wait until dawn and then kill him!"

Senior Sister Qing and the other young man nodded.

Qin Mu looked around and saw that the ruins were vast, like a city in the canyon. Beasts were everywhere, except on the square, which was completely empty.

On the square, there were only skeletons, human skeletons, about two to three hundred of them, still wearing elaborate clothing. They had died for some unknown reason.

"These are all women."

Strangely, these female skeletons were all sitting cross-legged, in neat rows, fifteen rows with fifteen skeletons each, as if they had been meditating when a disaster struck, leaving them no time to escape, and they died instantly, turning into skeletons.

He approached the square and examined it closely, noticing that there was a leader among the skeletons, sitting cross-legged at the front of the rows.

All the skeletons, including the leader, faced the massive gateway, in the same direction.

"Senior Brother, look!"

Senior Sister Qing's eyes lit up, and she nodded towards the skeletons on the square, whispering, "These skeletons have treasures in their hands! Each one has something!"

Senior Brother Qu's eyes scanned the area, and his heart raced. The skeletons held various treasures: some held swords, some held dusters, some wore jade pendants, and some held treasure bottles, all kinds of weapons.

These treasures still shone brightly, as if they had just been forged, clearly very valuable!

The most eye-catching was the pearl held by the leader's skeleton, floating in the palm of the skeleton, with what seemed to be mist swirling within it.

This place was actually a vast treasure trove!

"If we could get these treasures..." Senior Sister Qing whispered, her breathing quickening.

Senior Brother Qu said sternly, "These treasures are unowned, you can be at ease..."

Before he could finish, the strand of the duster shot out like lightning, piercing the fifth junior brother's eye. The other strands of the duster followed, drilling into his other eye.

The fifth junior brother opened his mouth to scream, but no sound came out. Qin Mu, not far away, saw the young man wither visibly, turning into a mummy in an instant.

The duster continued to wrap around him, and soon the mummy's skin and bones melted away, leaving only a few pieces of clothing and a pair of shoes on the ground.
