Chapter 46

“Baron Ralph Genette? It’s definitely the first time I’ve heard of that.”

Ver was telling Jack what he had found out so far. He didn’t talk about it with Prillance. Jack must have been worried.

“They say that he had just became an aristocrat not too long ago.”

“But why?”

The voice of the dispute over the questions were frightening.

“He was waiting for an appointment with Minipi’s caretaker. For now, he’s on hold.”

“If it’s Minipi, isn’t it pretty much known that his focus is the Imperial Palace?”

“That’s right.”

Both of them had received invitations from Prince Lucio for the birthday of the crown prince. Even in that one, they could already know what to expect in certain areas.

“Surely, it’s strange.”

The Grant family’s estate attracted attention as a resort, but it was also a place that earned quite a lot from the harvest. Does it make sense to have a caretaker in a place like that?

That’s what Ver thought. If they weren’t chosen to do so, they would have chosen a job with the lowest earning that does not favour the imperialists and the parliament.

However, even after looking at all of the tangled events so far, there was a strange side saying that he was just a submissive person who always listen. And so, there was another thing he didn’t tell Jack.

Ben Royne’s relationship to being a viscount.

Apparently, Ralph and Ben had some kind of deal. And Ben was a family that had exclusive trade rights.

If it had been in the old days, he would have thought it was simply commercial resourcefulness. But now, he have doubts about commercial resourcing.

An unknown feeling stirred Ver.

“Oh, Prillance requested to go on a trip.”

Jack said to Ver thoughtfully.

“Unfortunately, that district is Minipi.”

It was a sudden request from Prillance. However, as Minipi is also a popular vacation spot, Jack didn’t think it was that strange. On the contrary, it was more pleasant to see her request as an excuse.

“Lady Weiand, you said?”

It was a fact that Ver had no idea. However, his answer after being surprised and briefly lost in thought, quickly came out of his mouth.

“I’ll follow her.”

Ver is lost in thought, he can’t see any sort of relationship between the Marquis Weiand and Baron Genette.

‘But he attacked Marquis Weiand.’

Ver shook his head. It was nonsense. Apparently there was a reason. That’s what the carefully crafted devices of the Marquis Weiand indicated.

Minipi was an important connection between Baron Genette and Viscount Royne. Ver thought that this trip would be an opportunity.

There were things that he wanted to find out there so he also wants to go there. Most of all, he didn’t want to send Prillance there alone.

“If you do, I’ll appreciate it.”

That’s why he brought up the topic about Prillance wanting to go travel. Jack wanted Ver to go and find out more. Listening to Ver’s story, he was suspicious of the relationship between Minipi and Baron Genette.

‘How is Minipi managed after being returned to the Grant family’s estate from the imperial family?’

Jack turned to Ver thoughtfully. Apart from his head, he was saying that his intuition is irrelevant with the Grant family.

“I’ll try harder in the system.”

In each other’s heads, what they had to do was going by quickly.

“Are you ready?”

“Yes.”

Ver asked Prillance. She was facing him sideways in a comfortable attire.

“I won’t let it go.”

Ver said with a grim face. Prillance nodded solemnly.

Then their necks bumped slightly. Holding the wooden sword tightly in her hands, she struggled to block Ver’s wooden sword. She had never done it ten times consecutively. However, she also fell on the ground.

But Prillance got up quickly.

She didn’t want to be weak again. Ralph’s tight grip on her hand and the fear she felt when she was running away were still vivid in her memories.

It was an entirely different fear from meeting Roman, who knew he was the main male character. Ralph’s threat, which was not even mentioned in the description of the character, was such an intense experience.

So Prillance first asked Ver. The punishment she gave herself was necessary for her own sake.

The wooden sword in Prillance’s hand fell to the ground with a loud thud. She only remembered her memory for a short time, but her was naturally tensed and could not bear Ver’s attack.

“I’m sorry. Again…”

Prillance’s wrists that held the wooden sword, felt numb, weak and trembled weakly.

“That’s enough for today.”

As Ver turned around announcing the end of their class, a harsh sigh came out from Prillance at once. That sigh gave him a slight tremor.

Prillance was still taking classes with different level of intensity when she was learning self-defence.

But she never said no. he held his lips together with his feet. For some reason, it seemed as if it had even passed on to him.

The servant quickly put out a warm towel. Ver put down the wooden sword, grabbed Prillance’s right wrist gently, held it tight, and put the warm towel. One hand held the towel steady so that it wouldn’t fall off, and the other hand gently turned her wrist.

Every time he felt Prillance’s hand trembled, he held them like it needed support.

So Ver always held her hand first. He wanted to do so.

Prillance glanced at Ver’s face.

Ver always had a firm look on his face. It was all the more so when he trained with her. But at the end, he was always kind and friendly.

“It will only worsen when you overdo it.”

Even if she was gradually increasing her physical strength with him, the fact that she overworked her wrists remained the same.

Prillance nodded only.

“I heard you were going on a trip.”

Ver put down the already cold towel and replace it with a warm towel.

“I requested it myself.”

Curiosity still lingered on Ver’s face even after answering his question. In fact, he wanted to ask her again and again.

“Why did you do that?”

Baron Genette, whom Prillance met, was a man to be the caretaker of Minipi and after meeting him, she asked him to follow her to Minipi.

“Because I wanted to see it myself.”

Prillance answered, watching Ver loosening his hold on the warm towel.

“Sometimes what you see isn’t everything.”

Ralph’s words lingered in her ears. He spoke like this about Minipi.

For some reason, Prillance couldn’t just let it slip. So she decided to go there in person.

“I heard the place is beautiful.”

She’s stuck. She wanted Ver to look at her like a noblewoman who was curious about vacation spots.

Maybe it’s because of such a little metaphor. If we go together, we’ll know by rejection.

Somewhere around here, thinking so, Ver didn’t ask any more questions.

“I’ll be with you out there.”

Prillance’s body stiffened slightly at Ver’s words. That small body movement was also noticed by Ver.

“I won’t do it if you don’t like it.”

Ver’s voice his disappointment. The result was a combination of sad and regrettable feelings about her overcoming something and not reaching out to him alone. With his own feelings, he thought he shouldn’t feel this way, but he came up casually.

“No, that’s not like that…”

Prillance looked at him. And when her eyes met Ver’s, they quickly lowered their eyes. And she murmured quietly.

“…I thought you’d be uncomfortable.”

Whenever she faced his stiff face, she can’t help but gggg. And…

“I thought it would be inconvenient because it’s related to your family.”

His presence comforted more than anyone else. There was no way that she would hate it.

However, it was a land of the Grant family so there could have been bad memories.

In addition, the time she might have spent on her family was also where she grew up. If it weren’t for that, she would have asked him to come right away.

“Lady Weiand.”

At the call of Ver, Prillance looked up at him again. His face was full of worries as he made eye contact with her flushed cheeks due to the heat from the training.

“There is nothing more important to me than the Lady. So don’t worry.”

If the reward for playing with his rising emotions was sitting next to her, he has the confidence to press it again and again.

Even though he thought so, he did not realize that he could not hide his feelings of love.

“Me too! I… like it.”

The same was true for Prillance, who is also like Ver who hid his feelings with a smile.

“… I look forward to your kind cooperation.”

Ver held the warm towel and put more strength into his hand. He had to grab anything to stop himself reaching out to Prillance, who had a lovable face. And the wrists of Prillance, felt so small.

The Duke Tonz, who was preparing for the long trip, was busy from the morning.

The carriage sent from the Viscount Royne came early as it neared the departure time. The carriage entering the residence of Duke Tonz was clearly seen in the office of Roman.

Roman headed downstairs to greet Cecia.

“Long time no see, Duke Tonz.”

Ben, who found Roman, said hello. They must have come together. Cecia followed her father and bowed slightly to Roman.

“Long time no see, Viscount Royne.”

A little embarrassed by his unexpected move, Roman did not reveal his feelings.

“I’m late to visit you.”

Ben said cautiously, looking at his face.

“This time, I came to greet my daughter after going on an inspection.”

“I see.”

Roman felt a little at ease when he didn’t said he would go with him. But that too was not shown on his face.

Ben was looking at Roman’s face. As for him, who went awry, this inspection became important issue for the family and for Cecia.

“Cecia, you must take good care of Duke Tonz.”

Ben groaned at her. She played a big role in the inspection trip that will begin.

He believed that she would be as good as she is now.

“Duke, please take good care of my daughter.”

After this trip, Viscount Royne’s status will be elevated, and Cecia will also be the Duke’s treasure.

Ben felt a little better about the situation as if he had already become the master of the Duke Tonz.

“I will.”

On the contrary, Roman had no feelings shown on his face. He was just watching everything Ben is doing.

“Then we will now go.”

So the journey of Roman and Cecia began.

It is also the same as Marquis Weiand.

Even if it wasn’t just Roman and Cecia who went out for the season, there were a lot of luggage nominally prepared for recreation.

“Take care of yourself. Please do that, Viscount Grant.”

Jack, who said that, felt strange. Is it because the two are standing side by side? He felt as if he were leaving his daughter.

“I’ll be back safely.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll escort her well.”

“You should also take care of yourself, Viscount Grant.”

Ver thanked him with his magnanimity. And he got on the same wagon as Prillance.

That’s how the trip of the two people started.
