There was a strong wind on the mountain. Tan Tu walked on the windy side and blocked Su Ce. Holding Su Ce’s hand tightly, the wind blew their hair, like the taste of dating a modern person.
As Su Ce walked along, he felt like laughing, he didn’t know why but since he married Tan Tu, his life, originally composed of words and work, seemed to be stained with other colors. He began to have a ‘real family’ feeling, which was steady and heavy, as if it could make him willing to give anything he could.
Moreover, Tan Tu is better than him.
Su Ce looked at the big man who was always silly when facing him, his heart suddenly beat faster.
He likes Tan Tu very much, more and more.
The surrounding trees are quite luxuriant. They are planted on some slightly flat land one by one, perhaps it’s because there are many creatures on the mountain. There are few exposed stones on the whole mountain, large turf covered the soil, and many more familiar wild vegetables and mushrooms grow in it.
Perhaps it’s because the flowering season is too early, the flowers are very few but the fruits on the tree have a series of mature fruits, only a few of which are still young and tender, but they are also green and very beautiful.
Su Ce took a breath of the mountain air, which was cooler and more relaxed than the one below... Sure enough, it was due to the clean wind.
Tan Tu took Su Ce’s hand and felt as if he had grasped the whole life—his beloved female, who will spend a lifetime with him. He can devote all his life to him, as long as he can always live happily...with himself. Their names are written on indestructible stones, and their souls will always be dependent.
It’s a bit foolish pursuing people, but Tan Tu isn’t a fool, and Su Ce has never concealed him... He can see that his Ah Ce, his partner, is becoming more and more gentle towards him. He’s still careful, but much less uneasy than before.
The two men walked silently for a while, the atmosphere of intimacy circulated between them. When they walked through the lowest mountain road, the muscles on Tan Tu’s arm suddenly tightened.
Su Ce looked up and saw his big man’s face was a little serious.
A savage beast atmosphere is getting stronger and stronger. The mountain is very large. The males in Tan Tu’s tribe have hunted here for generations. Only when they can’t occasionally hunt can they go further.
However, this is also a very dangerous mountain. The animals here has a strong breeding capacity, and many of them survived because of the excellent living resources. This really enables the males in the tribe to feed themselves better, but it hangs their lives on a tough steel wire. Hunting everyday—not only for meat, but also for fear of wild animals gathering in groups—otherwise, they will attack the tribe.
Imagine hundreds or even thousands of wild animals rolling down from the mountain, trampling on the tribe land, hurting their beloved partners, and devouring the most precious cubs... What a serious harm to a formed tribe!
Like Tan Tu now, he’s still holding his partner in his hand and will certainly be more cautious. So just as he approached a specific area, he stretched his nerves.
He has to protect his Ah Ce!
Su Ce also let go of his previous thoughts. He followed Tan Tu out hunting for the first time and didn’t know what was going on here. Even before entering the tribe, they stayed together in the forest for a few days, but perhaps due to good luck, they didn’t encounter too many wild animals. Even if they met, they were easily killed and eaten by Tan Tu. But now even Tan Tu is so nervous... Is it something more terrible?
He didn’t think of it at all before, it was just because he followed.
Although Su Ce has the consciousness to survive in this world, it’s clear that he cannot regard himself as a vulnerable group like the females who have been living here. His self-esteem as a man allows him agree with this view, but he can’t really integrate it. Even though he is actually weaker than the female, he doesn’t feel completely powerless. Therefore, he naturally did guess that the reason why Tan Tu was so, in fact, was too afraid of him being hurt.
Tan Tu lowered his head and said, “Ah Ce, don’t be too far away from me.”
Su Ce nodded, “Okay,” He won’t make fun of his life yet.
Just as they were talking, they walked into a dense forest, then Tan Tu introduced Su Ce, “This is where I come often. I’m familiar with it. Let’s hunt here today.”
Su Ce agreed. For him, of course, he started from the familiar terrain.
Tan Tu suddenly picked up Su Ce and rushed towards the forest with his legs outstretched. The trees on both sides leaned back, but the wind isn’t too strong. Su Ce knew this isn’t the fastest speed of Tan Tu, so there’s a room for him to look at the environment on both sides.
The trees were very dense and almost squeezed together. Thick mushrooms were growing in the small weeds under the trees. Judging from the color and the tiny worms crawling over the head, it’s not poisonous.
Su Ce decided to pick some later.
Because he might be hurt by a snake or some poisonous insect hanging from the tree, Tan Tu took extra careful all the way. It’s inevitable that there will be a row of branches so Su Ce also payed attention to dodge. Gradually, the forest narrowed to a slight gap, even the sound of spring water could be heard.
In the depths of the mountain, close to the spring, live a relatively gentle beast. They have sharp horns, thick fur, a large but vigorous body, and they like to live in groups so they can maintain the continuity of their race in the presence of many wild animals. But also for this reason that they always have ethnic groups, but ethnic groups haven’t been strong enough.
Tan Tu chose this beast first for the safety of his partner. He jumped onto a thick branch with Su Ce and looked down at the nearby spring water. The water hit some exposed rocks and made a wonderful sound.
A group of wild animals, similar to the combination of cattle and goats in Su Ce’s eyes, drank water there in a small number, about ten or so. Those who didn’t drink were gnawing on the turf outside. They should be some kind of herbivore.
Tan Tu didn’t jump for the time being because Su Ce seemed to be looking at it with great interest, he said, “This is called the ‘bristle tooth hyena’ Although they eat grass, their teeth are very sharp.”
Su Ce is indeed very interested. He saw one of them come up with a thick stuff and put it in the spring. He asked curiously, “What are they doing?”
Tan Tu replied, “Drawing water.”
Su Ce looked closely. Sure enough, the hyena took out the bone again and shook its head, as if to confirm whether there was water in it.
What a clever animal.
Su Ce looked for a while and found that another hyena leaped into the shallow water, and the other ten or so came around, putting the sheepfold in the middle with its horn facing outside, as if protecting it. And the one on the other side drilled his head into the water and later came out with a mass of stuff, plugging the gap above the bone of the previous hyena’s mouth.
This is simply wisdom.
Su Ce was so fascinated that he didn’t wake up until two hyenas walked to the other side of the woods with their partners, “Tan Tu, what are they doing?”
Tan Tu was very pleased to see such a divine expression on Su Ce’s face, he smiled and said, “They are delivering water to the cubs in the nest. Hyena is relatively weak kind of beast here, but also a very spiritual one. Because when the enemy comes, they must gather together to protect their companions, so when they come out to find food, they will not bring any more unprotected cubs...”
Their teeth are capable of biting and even breaking bones. Unfortunately, they aren’t sharp enough to pierce skins. Plus their ‘beasts’ are too small to occupy a place in carnivores. In evolution, they chose another direction with more resources—herbivore.
Over the years of evolution, the teeth have maintained this powerful biting force, allowing them to raise their cubs more safely and ensuring the reproduction of the ethnic group—unity is also one of their capital.
Su Ce silently pondered the animal’s way of life in his heart and asked, “How do you capture them when they are in such a position?”
Tan Tu smiled, looked around first, and found that the view around him was fairly wide. He said, “Look at them first, don’t talk.”
Su Ce nodded.
He saw that after the two hyenas with water bones in their mouths entered the forest, the others followed one after another. When there were only two or three left, Tan Tu suddenly jumped out, at the same time, his body turned into a huge golden lion, pounced on the last hyena and bit its neck fiercely!
The hyena screamed. When Tan Tu struggled with it, he tore it in the lower abdomen with his claw. The hyena slumped and fell on the ground.
The golden lion roared and dragged the body of the hyena. Looking at Su Ce’s side, his eyes suddenly widened and jumped back quickly! Even the hyena that have been hunted was left behind...
