Thank you, Daosheng, for your generous tip...

In Liu Shengzhi's eyes, this was a city that looked extremely unremarkable. It bore no resemblance to the magnificent and splendid city he had imagined the King of Hell would reside in.

The city walls, made of rammed earth and only two to three meters high, looked completely unimpressive, even overgrown with weeds.

"Is this even called a city wall?" Liu Shengzhi thought disdainfully. Even the walls of an ordinary rural home looked more impressive than this.

He suspected that anyone with nimble movements could easily climb over it.

Just as he was thinking, countless shadows approached the city, but they did not dare to enter. Instead, they circled around aimlessly.

A sliver of moonlight broke through the clouds, allowing him to see clearly. The shadows were all dressed in short hemp clothes, looking as if they were barely clothed. They resembled refugees or beggars, but their faces were expressionless and their movements were light and ethereal, causing a chill to run down anyone's spine who saw them.

"Indeed, they are all these things!" Liu Shengzhi's heart skipped a beat, but he calmed down.

He had experienced this state of mind wandering many times and had seen quite a few of these. He knew they were just wandering spirits and ghosts, and posed no significant threat.

It was only during his first experience that he was unclear. Seeing an old lady with bound feet walking ahead, Liu Shengzhi had foolishly gone up to ask for directions.

Who knew that when the old lady turned her face, it looked like that of a cat. At that moment, Liu Shengzhi was almost frightened to death.

After wandering in this state for so long, Liu Shengzhi had gained some insights. Seeing so many ghosts dressed in hemp clothes, he instinctively felt that his own attire was too conspicuous and different from these things.

Therefore, he focused his mind and visualized. A strange scene unfolded as the mist around Liu Shengzhi began to change, forming a set of hemp clothes similar to those of the ghosts, which he then put on.

However, none of the ghosts seemed to notice this. With a distant rooster's crow, as if receiving a signal, all the ghosts rushed into the city.

"Hmm, something seems off!" After the rooster's crow, the sky should have gradually brightened.

Ghosts fear sunlight, so they should retreat and hide upon hearing the rooster's crow. Why are they rushing into the city?

Despite his thoughts, he followed them in. The houses in the city were low, mostly earth and thatched-roof huts.

He saw several ghosts rushing towards a house. Suddenly, the entrance of the house lit up. A seemingly unremarkable wooden board hanging by the door emitted a faint white light. When the white light shone on the ghosts, they let out惨叫声,退缩回来,仿佛被火烧到一样!

He tried it, sitting quietly for a while. The big thoughts in his mind gradually subsided, but many small, uncontrollable thoughts continued to arise, one after another.

At this moment, he followed the method in the Immortal Book. As soon as each thought arose, he immediately cut it off.

At first, this was very difficult. Fortunately, Liu Shengzhi had enough patience and did not let any thought go unchecked.

He did not know how long it had been, but suddenly, his vision brightened as if a spark had burst forth, piercing through the darkness.
