Chapter 42

Yilini Lusius said with great certainty: "Twenty years ago, a large-scale disaster involving mutated creatures erupted, leading to the complete abandonment of the Gem Valley in the Hindu Kush Mountains. Interdimensional creatures often have a strong territorial awareness, and even if their numbers get out of control, their behavior patterns can be predicted and judged based on their habits, making them relatively easier to clean up. However, mutated creatures have a significant degree of uncertainty, making them hard to search for and eliminate. They are usually more troublesome, especially the queen variants. If not handled carefully, their numbers can quickly become unmanageable. However, in many cases, mutated creatures and other organisms often become opposing groups, especially when their activity areas overlap, leading to relentless battles."

The short-haired girl who was Chen Fei's flight instructor had prepared a very detailed lesson plan. After introducing the main targets for the "Zhenxiang" combat flight squadron, she controlled the LCD teaching board to play several carefully edited combat examples.

*Year February 14th Clean-up Operation, Target: Mutated Creatures, Type "Queen X-19," Social Colony, Location *, Number of Reproductive Queens: 1, Number of Reproductive Males: 3, Number of Guard Creatures: 34, Number of Foraging Creatures: 277; Tactical Plan: ...; Mission Evaluation: All eliminated, none escaped; Tactical Summary: The use of stun grenades combined with small cloud bombs is more effective. It is recommended to add Type 5 incapacitating rounds (loud noise, flash, foul smell, extreme bitterness, vibration) to interfere with the five senses.

*Year April 17th Clean-up Operation, Target: Mutated Creature, Codename "Solitary Mantid," Solitary, Number: 1; Tactical Plan: ...; Mission Evaluation: Successful kill; Tactical Summary: For highly mobile ground targets, it is recommended to continuously deploy Type 5 incapacitating rounds, followed by cluster high-explosive bombs, white phosphorus bombs, and rockets for better results.

*Year July 6th Clean-up Operation, Target: Interdimensional Creature Spiny Rock Fish (Small Earth Elemental Beast), Codename "Fish Group 3," Small Group Patrol, Number: 143; Tactical Plan: ...; Mission Evaluation: Successful kill; Tactical Summary: The target is a creature that moves within rocks, with a fragile body. Penetrating thermobaric bombs are more effective. It is recommended to apply high-yield penetrating thermobaric bombs for coverage.

*Year August 2nd Clean-up Operation, Target: ...

From the combat examples displayed on the LCD teaching board, the "Zhenxiang" combat flight squadron's mission completion rate is almost 100%.

The A-39B "Big Mouth" light turboprop attack aircraft often targets terrestrial interdimensional creatures and mutated creatures. A single high-explosive bomb can instantly obliterate them. For those that are more deeply hidden or have tougher skin, cloud or thermobaric bombs are used to ensure the results with over-saturated strikes.

Occasionally, there are air targets, and air-to-air missiles come into play, often resolving the situation quickly beyond visual range.

Interdimensional creatures and mutated creatures are not dragons. Their flight speed, attack methods, and defensive capabilities are far inferior to modern weapons, and pilots can easily complete their mission bonuses.

Although intelligent drones can handle most of the "Zhenxiang" combat flight squadron's tasks, their recognition rate for mutated creatures is low, and they are susceptible to various electromagnetic interferences. Some densely populated areas of mutated creatures can even cause drones to lose control. Moreover, the procurement, flight, and armament costs of drones are not cheap.

The more labor-saving devices, the more expensive they are, which is a universal truth.

Compared to the high price of combat drones, the A-39B "Big Mouth" light turboprop attack aircraft, which is mass-produced, is cheaper. The fully equipped model is not much more expensive than a high-end sports car, and its hourly flight cost is also low, making its overall cost-effectiveness far superior to drones.

The MiG-28 jet fighter, although expensive, costing about as much as two "Big Mouths," has far superior combat effectiveness and is a good investment for critical missions.

In emergency situations, such as unexpectedly encountering a dragon, drones are useless, and only pilots can handle the situation.

Who would have thought that among the many colleagues on Earth and Cangqiong, the 911 Air Base and its neighboring bases would accidentally hit this grand prize, with a probability of one in ten thousand, not much higher than winning the lottery.

The blackboard clapped, and Chen Fei understood the daily tasks of the "Zhenxiang" combat flight squadron: to search for and eliminate out-of-control interdimensional creatures and mutated creatures in the Hindu Kush Mountains, confirming the targets and then launching air strikes to completely eliminate them to prevent future problems.

These are the aftereffects of the great war thirty years ago and the side effects of the close interactions between the two worlds. As long as the portal remains open, interdimensional creature invasions are inevitable. If not today, then tomorrow, it is just a matter of time.

If interdimensional creatures and mutated creatures are left unchecked, they can easily cause large-scale problems, ultimately becoming unmanageable and damaging the natural environment.

Using nuclear weapons to clear them out might be a quick fix, but it is a short-term solution with long-term consequences, and it is impossible to achieve a permanent solution.

Therefore, in sparsely populated areas around the world, there are air bases like 911 that conduct regular patrols and clean-ups to keep these potential threats within a certain safety threshold.

In densely populated economic zones and frequently cultivated areas, the abundant human resources and ubiquitous surveillance systems, combined with the natural exclusion of other organisms by human activities, make the situation better.

Moreover, not all small interdimensional creatures cause trouble for humans on Earth. A few have even formed new symbiotic relationships, coexisting harmoniously.

"911 doesn't have a flight simulator. Before you read the 'Big Mouth' technical manual, play with this first!"

Yilini Lusius brought a large box and handed it to Chen Fei.

The pilots of the "Zhenxiang" combat flight squadron are all experienced, with at least 500 hours of flight experience. They can fly immediately upon joining, and there is no concept of training new pilots.

If not for the constant shortage of personnel at the air base and the squadron leader, Big Bear, seeing Chen Fei's incredible luck, they wouldn't have come up with the idea of internal recruitment.

However, the initial difficulty of turboprop aircraft is not high, which is why the executive manager, Morris Morgan, easily approved it.

"SVR helmet?"

Chen Fei felt a bit awkward.

The model on the box seemed to be the same as the one used by the stud doctor, William Jackson, in the medical team, making him think of something inappropriate.

"Correct, SVR, 3D with the naked eye. I've prepared three flight games for you to practice. The other two boxes contain the game console and flight joystick kit. Be careful and don't break them."

The SVR helmet is just an external audio-visual device. Yilini gave him two more boxes because a complete novice like Chen Fei is not yet ready to operate the aircraft directly.

The three boxes formed a pyramid in Chen Fei's hands. Given the precedent of the original AK-47 from the Big Bear squadron leader, she gave an extra reminder.

The SVR helmet, game console, and flight joystick kit are not very expensive, equivalent to Chen Fei's monthly salary. However, after the unscrupulous businessman, Park Ae-hwa, was taken by the internal affairs department, there has been no news.

Apart from him, no one else has the means to get a new set in this remote area.

Compared to the straightforward and brutal squadron leader, Chekov, the deputy squadron leader, Yilini Lusius, is more meticulous.

If Chekov were Chen Fei's flight instructor, he would just take him flying and show off, rather than using games to practice.

Using flight time to build up 30 hours, if he is still alive, he will definitely have learned.

If the Big Bear were Chen Fei's flight instructor, the maintenance team and the "Zhenxiang" squadron might end up in a fight.

"Thank you, Deputy Squadron Leader Yilini!"

Chen Fei held the three boxes with great gratitude, naturally being more cautious.

"Call me 'Devil Pepper,' rookie!"

Yilini Lusius proudly placed her hands on her waist.

A security guard at the hangar door shouted, "Chen Fei from the maintenance team, someone is looking for you!"

"Who is looking for me?"

Chen Fei quickly responded loudly.

The security guard pointed outside the door, in the direction of the tarmac.

"Unscrupulous businessman!"
