Carrying the young tiger girl on his shoulder, he hurriedly returned home.
It took a bit longer since they had gone a bit further, but as expected, it took about 15 minutes from the nearest shore of the lake to the house. During that time, the girl gradually lost her strength. However, she still felt warm, so he hoped she would make it just in time.
Once home, he gently set the girl down, unlocked the door, and opened it. From the workshop, the sound of a bell could be heard, muffled but still quite loud. He hurried inside and headed to the bedroom. Searching the bedroom, he found sheets in a cupboard, pulled out two, and placed them on the living room table.
He then went to the workshop and started searching again. This time, he was looking for a needle, thread, and a knife. It took some time, but he managed to find both. The needle and thread were usually used for the intricate work on sword scabbards, but there was no time to be picky. The knife was a product for sale, but he had no choice but to use it.
Next, he moved to the kitchen, filled a pot with water, put the needle in it, and set it on the fire. While waiting for the water to boil, he returned to the living room, spread one of the sheets on the table, and laid the girl, who had been left outside, on it. To avoid any trouble, he locked the door.
Now, he wanted to take off her leather armor, but the belt was stuck with blood or something and wouldn't come off, so he cut it with the knife he had brought. When he tried to take off the leather armor, he found that the shirt she was wearing underneath was also bloodstained and stuck to her body. He carefully cut the shirt with the knife as well. He placed the removed leather armor aside and then cut the shirt down the middle, took it off, and checked for any other major injuries.
It was hard to see because her body was covered in fur, but if there were any major injuries, they would be obvious. In the end, he found that the only injury that needed immediate attention was the large wound on her side. Blood was seeping from it. The whole time, the girl looked in pain but remained unconscious.
After confirming the injury, the water in the pot began to boil. He cut the sheet to an appropriate size, soaked it in the boiling water, waited a bit, and then took out the sheet, needle, and thread.
"In situations like this, 'Install' is a lifesaver..."
Thanks to "Install," he had been able to handle everything up to this point efficiently, but he still had some knowledge in these areas. What he was about to do, however, was something he couldn't do at all without "Install's" knowledge and experience.
He brought the items he had taken out of the boiling water to the table and wiped the wound on her side with the wet sheet.
"Ugh..."
The girl grimaced and groaned but remained unconscious. Blood began to seep from the wound again. He started to stitch the wound with the needle and thread. Without anesthesia, this must have been very painful. She grimaced with each stitch. Guilt gnawed at his heart, but this was necessary to save her. She would have to endure it.
Thanks to "Install's" survival skills, he managed to stitch the large wound, though it was far from the work of a surgeon. It might not look good, but he would apologize when she woke up.
He crushed the antiseptic herbs he had gathered, added some of the boiled water, and applied it to the stitched wound. He then placed a piece of the cut sheet as a makeshift bandage and wrapped it with a strip of the sheet as a bandage. The treatment for the largest wound was now complete.
Next, he soaked the sheet he had used to clean the wound in the boiling water again and wiped her entire body to check for any other injuries. Of course, with her naked, he felt a bit embarrassed, but his body and mind understood that this was not the time for such thoughts, and he completed the treatment without any hesitation.
The water in the pot was still boiling, so he turned down the heat. He filled a wooden bowl halfway with the still hot water and added the fever-reducing herbs he had gathered.
After a while, a refreshing aroma rose. It was similar to mint from his previous world. He scooped the herbal tea with a wooden spoon, cooled it, and fed it to the girl. If she were completely unconscious, he wouldn't be able to feed her, but fortunately, she swallowed when he brought the spoon to her lips, so he fed her the entire contents of the bowl. This should help with the pain as well.
He watched her for about an hour to make sure her condition didn't suddenly worsen. Her breathing gradually became more stable, so he decided to move her again.
She wouldn't recover if she stayed on the table. He carried her in a princess carry and brought her into the bedroom, laying her on the bed. Of course, he didn't forget to cover her with a blanket.
"Phew..."
He was incredibly tired. It was natural after performing such a major treatment, but more than that, the tension he had maintained during the treatment had completely drained him. He had been out and about today, and it had been a very eventful day. He wanted to take a break before eating. He sat down in the round chair by the side table to rest.
"Maybe I'll go get some water tomorrow and start working in the workshop... But I need to check on her from time to time... What should I do..."
As he settled into the chair and thought about the future, he felt even more tired, or rather, sleepy. This feeling of sleepiness was familiar from his previous world. It was the kind that made you fall asleep unintentionally.
"No, if I fall asleep, I won't be able to eat..."
He tried to resist, but in vain. Just as "Install" had experienced, his consciousness sank into a comfortable darkness.
