Chapter 62

Leaving the Marquis's residence, the three of us headed towards the Aimur family's mansion. Since everything is settled, I want to take off this outfit as soon as possible. After arriving in the capital, I went straight to the forge to work and then directly to the Marquis's residence, so this is my first time visiting the Aimur family's mansion.

The Aimur mansion is smaller than the Marquis's residence, but it is still a grand mansion with impressive gates. Camillo and I were led to a reception room with elegant interior decorations. Marius is not here right now; he is probably changing out of his formal attire. I also want to change... When I was thinking this, a middle-aged man who seemed to be a servant called out to me:

"Lord Aizou, please come this way."

I was called alone.

Walking down the corridor with the servant, I noticed that, like the corridor leading to the reception room, there were no vases or armor displayed, only tapestries here and there. After walking a short distance, we arrived at a room, and the servant opened the door, saying:

"Please, come in."

I obediently followed his instructions and entered the room, where several female servants were waiting. The door closed behind me. However, it didn't seem like anything "important" was about to happen. My clothes were folded on the side.

"Was it difficult to get used to wearing this? I will help you change now."

The female servant efficiently began to take off the noble's attire. I was grateful because I didn't know how to put it on, let alone take it off. This morning, I learned that resisting would only make things take longer, so I let her do as she pleased. I can put on my own clothes, but if they are willing to dress me, I'll go with it.

She was skilled, and it didn't take long to change. I was back in my usual villager outfit, which felt very comfortable. Those luxurious clothes didn't suit me at all. As I enjoyed the sense of freedom, the female servants giggled.

"What's so funny?"

"No, it just seems that Lord Aizou prefers this look."

"Yeah, I'm just a regular guy from the city. Besides, this outfit suits me better and looks cooler, right?"

I said this with a laugh, and the female servants laughed even more.

"Yes, really."

With the change complete, I returned to the original reception room with the servant who had guided me. Inside, Marius and Camillo, now in more casual attire than their formal wear, were drinking tea and chatting.

"Ah, you're back."

Marius was the first to react.

"Yeah. After changing, I can really feel how stiff my shoulders were. Also, I realized I'm not cut out for being a noble."

I replied with a laugh. Camillo joined in, saying:

"That's true. No matter what you wear, I can't bring myself to treat you with respect."

He teased, and we all laughed.

"Well, we've been a lot of trouble this time. Thank you."

Marius bowed.

"I told you from the start. You've helped us a lot in the city, so this is just returning the favor."

"Exactly. Besides, to be honest, I've gained a connection with the Marquis's family, and I didn't do much, so don't worry about it."

"It's a great relief to hear that."

Marius smiled weakly. Normally, we hold significant secrets of the Marquis's family, but it seems they understand we have no intention of using them for anything.

"Still, I can't give you a grand reward, but I want to show my gratitude in some way."

"I'm fine as long as we can continue our business. Just having a connection with the Marquis's family is enough of a reward."

Camillo made his request. It was quite modest, but being a supplier to the Marquis's family would certainly add prestige.

"Understood. I'll do business with Camillo's goods without overwhelming my current favorites. What about Aizou?"

"Me?"

Well, to be honest, there's nothing I really want... Oh, right, there is something.

"I want information on rare minerals, not iron ore, but something rarer."

"Like true silver?"

"Exactly."

"By 'information,' you don't need the actual item?"

"Any information on how to obtain it would be fine. I'll ask Camillo to help me get it."

"Then I'll look into it. If I find something, I'll let Camillo know, okay?"

"Sure. Thanks."

When I looked at Camillo, he nodded. I proceeded without consulting him, but it seems he's willing to help. That's great.

"Also, this is a separate reward. Please accept it without saying anything."

Camillo and I were each given a small bag. Inside were several gold coins.

"Whoa..."

I tried to refuse, but Marius looked at me intently and shook his head. Maybe it's not good to refuse too much...

"Then, I'll accept it. Thanks."

"Sure."

Marius nodded.

With the conversation wrapping up, it was time to leave. I asked Marius:

"By the way, we need to bring Diana back, right? There's a celebration, isn't there?"

"Hmm? Oh, right. I need to legitimize my succession as soon as possible."

He hesitated for a moment, and his demeanor briefly reminded me of the Marius who was a guard. But it's fine.

"Then, Camillo and I will bring her back in 2-3 days. Is that okay?"

"Sure, that's fine."

"Thanks. I'll coordinate with everyone here."

With the final arrangements made, all that was left was to go home. It had only been three days, but I was already missing my home. Suppressing my eagerness, I left the Aimur mansion and headed home.
