In the morning, Han Yuting clung to Wang Jian and wanted to do it again. Wang Jian, aroused by her, tried to pin her down, but she quickly ran to the window, posing provocatively. Wang Jian chased after her, and Han Yuting stood by the window, leaning against the sill, arching her back.

"Come on!" Han Yuting said, squinting her eyes.

"Aren't you afraid someone outside will see?" Wang Jian smiled and said.

"What's there to be afraid of? This is exciting!"

Wang Jian never thought Han Yuting had such a fetish, and he could only sigh. He quickly went over, picked her up, and carried her back inside, then went straight to business.

Exhausted, Wang Jian lay on the bed, and Han Yuting rested for a while before going to the morning market to buy breakfast. When she returned, Wang Jian saw that it was his favorite fried dough sticks and eggs.

Looking at Han Yuting's gentle and virtuous appearance, Wang Jian quickly got dressed and jumped down to replenish the energy he had spent the night before and that morning.

"Wang Jian, you just became the township chief, haven't you sorted out all the work yet?" Han Yuting asked while eating.

It had only been a few days since he became the township chief, so he definitely hadn't sorted everything out. Wang Jian raised his head and said, "Not yet, I think it will take about a month to get everything in order!"

"The county youth league has a youth poverty alleviation fund project. Many townships are vying for it. Do you want it?" Han Yuting said.

When it came to vying for projects, Wang Jian smiled. No project could be secured without vying for it, even poverty alleviation projects were no exception. It sounded ridiculous.

"Should I vie for it? Our township has no money!" Wang Jian laughed.

Han Yuting chuckled and said, "If I ask you whether you want to vie for it, would I let your township spend money? But you won't be stingy about buying souvenirs, right?"

"Souvenirs? What kind of souvenirs?" Wang Jian asked.

Han Yuting said, "At least buy me a set of clothes!"

"I've never done this before," Wang Jian said, looking puzzled.

"Tsk, you've been the director of the party and government office, how can you not know anything? If you don't buy it, I'll give it to someone else!" Han Yuting pouted.

"I'll buy it, even if I have to pay out of my own pocket!" Wang Jian quickly laughed.

"The clothes I want should cost at least 3000 yuan. Are you willing to pay out of your own pocket?" Han Yuting took the opportunity to mention the price of the souvenir.

"So expensive? How much will the poverty fund give? I need to do the math!" Wang Jian was startled. His monthly salary was less than 2000 yuan, and he couldn't afford such expensive clothes.

Seeing Wang Jian's surprised look, Han Yuting felt that although he had become the township chief, he hadn't yet entered the aristocratic life. Being an official was one thing, but economic benefits were also important. She needed to enlighten him.

"It's not much, about 50,000 yuan. It's already quite good, and it's free for you. Isn't that a good thing?" Han Yuting said.

Giving 50,000 yuan for 3000 yuan was a good deal, but the 50,000 yuan was the state's money, and the 3000 yuan was personal. It was a good deal, but for the sake of the children in Xianhe Township, Wang Jian was willing to pay out of his own pocket to secure it.

"It's a good thing. I'll thank you on behalf of the children in Xianhe Township. I'll spend two months' salary to buy it for you!" Wang Jian promised.

Looking at Wang Jian for a while, seeing that he didn't seem to be joking, Han Yuting said, "Wang Jian, are you really going to pay out of your own pocket to buy me clothes?"

"Why not? If I don't buy it, you won't give me the project. How can I not buy it?" Wang Jian glanced at her and said.

"Ha ha, Wang Jian, can't you use public funds to buy it for me?" Han Yuting laughed and asked.

Swallowing a large piece of fried dough stick, Wang Jian said, "If I use public funds, I'll be making a mistake. How can I do that?"

"Ha ha, Wang Jian, are you really clueless or just joking with me? In this day and age, can you remain untainted?" Han Yuting couldn't help but laugh at Wang Jian's serious expression.

Wang Jian finished the last piece of fried dough stick, put down his chopsticks, and said solemnly, "I don't care what others do; I want to do it this way!"

Looking at Wang Jian as if she didn't know him, Han Yuting widened her eyes and said, "Wang Jian, are you serious?"

"Serious!"

"What if your subordinates come to give you gifts?"

"I'll send them away!"

"You're not sending away their gifts, but them. If you keep doing this, who will still want to follow you?"

"I'll find a way. Don't worry about it!"

Han Yuting stared at him, suddenly feeling that Wang Jian was a very hard-to-read person. Everyone wanted to be a good and clean official, but it was extremely difficult to do so. How could he be so confident?

"Wang Jian, being an official has its own way of life. You think a 3000 yuan set of clothes is expensive, but there are many officials who wear even more expensive clothes. How can you deal with them if you dress poorly? Being an official is one thing, but economic benefits are another. You need to excel in both to rise quickly!" Han Yuting enlightened him.

Wang Jian looked at her with a mysterious smile and said, "Although I don't have money, can't I find a rich father-in-law?"

"Ha ha! Wang Jian, you really have a way with words!" Han Yuting was first stunned, then quickly laughed.

"Joking, Han Sister, being an official and being a person are the same. If you focus on money from the start, you'll end up in a dead end. I understand what you said, but can't I be different from others? I have my own way of being an official, and I don't need to be the same as others!" Wang Jian said seriously.

Han Yuting looked deeply at Wang Jian, feeling that he could become a township chief at such a young age because he was a very thoughtful and determined person. His integrity was beyond reproach, and his level was not ordinary.

"Wang Jian, you are not only a good man but also a good official. Since that's the case, I'll make a loss on this deal and fully support your work!" Han Yuting decided not to ask for souvenirs.

"No souvenirs?"

"Ha, who said no? I want you to spend your own money to buy me clothes, just from a street stall!"

Seeing Han Yuting's pouting face, Wang Jian laughed happily.

After chatting with Han Yuting for a while, Lu Jun came to the county town to pick him up according to Wang Jian's instructions.

"Han Sister, since you're giving us the project, I'll go back today to understand the situation of the poor students!" Wang Jian said goodbye to Han Yuting.

"It's Sunday today. What are you going back for? Stay with me a bit longer!" Han Yuting tried to keep him.

"I'll come back to see you another time, Han Sister!" Wang Jian smiled, opened the door, and walked downstairs. Han Yuting could only watch him leave.

After going out, he didn't walk far before getting into Lu Jun's car. After getting in, Wang Jian said to Lu Jun, "Back to the township!"

After about half an hour, Wang Jian got out of the car in the township government courtyard. Since it was Sunday, there were few people around, and most were resting. Du Xiaobei and Wu Lei were not there. After thinking for a while, he decided to go to a rural school alone.

Calling Lu Jun, Wang Jian got into the car and went to the Xianhe Village Primary School. On the way, he saw the crops in the fields and a few plastic greenhouses scattered here and there. Most of the villagers had not adjusted their agricultural structure, and this work needed to be done well.

Arriving at the dilapidated gate of the Xianhe Village Primary School, Wang Jian got out of the car. He had passed by here before but never entered. It was Sunday, and the students were not in class. An old man was tending a vegetable garden in the yard. Seeing Wang Jian come in, he asked, "What are you here for?"

Lu Jun stepped forward and said, "This is our Township Chief Wang. Is the principal here?"

Seeing Wang Jian was young, the old man was a bit suspicious. He was the gatekeeper of the school and knew nothing about the township, but seeing Wang Jian's dignified appearance, he didn't dare to be rude. He pointed and said, "The principal might be inside!"

Wang Jian walked into the school office and saw a young female teacher at the desk, apparently preparing a lesson.

"Comrade, hello!" Wang Jian said to the female teacher at the door.

The female teacher saw a young man standing at the door and quickly stood up, saying, "Who are you? Who are you looking for?"

"Oh, I'm looking for your principal. Is he here?" Wang Jian answered, stopping Lu Jun from introducing him. He preferred to conduct a private inspection.

"Are you looking for Principal Lu? He just went home. If you have something, I can pass it on to him!" the female teacher said.

The principal wasn't there, and the old man at the gate might have been mistaken. Wang Jian thought for a moment and said, "I'm surnamed Wang, and I work in the township. I want to understand the situation of the poor students in your school. Do you know about it?"

"You are a township leader, right? Please come in and sit down!" The young female teacher immediately warmly brought a chair for Wang Jian to sit on.

Wang Jian smiled and said thank you, then sat down. The female teacher went to get him a cup of hot water.

Putting the hot water on the table, the female teacher looked at Wang Jian and said, "Since you are a township leader, should I call Principal Lu to talk to you?"

"No need. You can tell me. Don't worry; I just want to understand the situation. It's not a big deal!" Wang Jian understood the female teacher's concerns and reassured her.

The female teacher thought for a moment and said, "Alright, our school has about 200 students, and about 30 of them are from poor families. They usually wear old clothes and feel inferior in front of other children. I plan to work with some teachers to provide them with psychological counseling to help their growth."

Wang Jian felt a glimmer of hope in his heart, feeling that this female teacher was very loving and responsible. She was right; the poverty of poor students was not only material but also psychological. It was very rare for her to notice this and try to solve it.

Looking at the female teacher with some admiration, she became embarrassed. Wang Jian withdrew his gaze and said, "Thank you, teacher. I'll go outside and take a look."

The female teacher accompanied Wang Jian outside to look at the school buildings. He noticed that many of the buildings had cracks. Wang Jian asked, "Are these buildings dangerous?"

"There are many dangerous buildings in the school, but the higher-ups have never come to repair them!" the female teacher answered.

Wang Jian remembered that Fang Zhiming had received a fund for dangerous building renovations. Why hadn't they been repaired? He was momentarily very unhappy.
