"Bang bang bang..."

A series of urgent and rapid knocks on the door pulled Jowan Xian, who was still in a deep sleep, back from the realm of dreams, making him get out of bed in a bad mood, muttering curses in his heart.

"Could it be the landlord?"

This thought flashed through his mind, and Jowan Xian immediately became alert. He had been in arrears for over half a month, and even with his silver tongue, he would find it hard to escape the impending disaster.

Jowan Xian sighed, slowly got up, washed his face, and instantly came up with seven or eight excuses to continue delaying the rent, though he wasn't sure if they would work. He would try them anyway.

He forced a smile, more painful than crying, and cautiously opened the door...

Outside stood seven or eight middle-aged men in suits, looking very distinguished, and they seemed to be quite important.

But I don't know any of you, did you come to the wrong place? What a mess, when things are going badly, even drinking cold water can get stuck in your teeth. Not only do I not have money for the rent, but now strangers are disturbing my sleep!

Jowan Xian retracted his smile and was about to close the door to go back to sleep, but the closest man, a bald and imposing figure, held the door and politely asked, "Excuse me, are you Mr. Wanxian?"

"Huh?" Jowan Xian was taken aback, looking at these people again. No, I really don't know them! Hmm... Could it be someone my predecessor knew? I hope they're not here to collect gambling debts, or I'll be in big trouble!

"Who... who are you?" Jowan Xian's voice was shaky. If they were here to collect gambling debts, I might as well be half-dead.

The man respectfully said, "I am Kainen."

"Kainen?" Jowan Xian struggled to recall, but he had no memory of this person, and his face showed confusion.

Kainen smiled and said, "I am the CEO of Chelsea FC. I came here today to discuss a contract with you."

"Contract? What kind of contract?" Jowan Xian was puzzled.

Kainen calmly said, "After a unanimous decision by the Chelsea board, we have decided to hire you as the head coach for the new season."

"Ah?" Jowan Xian opened his mouth wide, almost shocked out of his wits.

"I... I..." Jowan Xian was so excited he couldn't speak. Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind. Could it be... because of that bet?

Jowan Xian seemed to understand something and asked with wide eyes, "Was it your technical director who suggested this to Mr. Abramovich?"

Before Kainen could answer, one of the men behind him looked puzzled and shook his head, "Mr. Wanxian, I have never met you before, and I have never recommended you to the club."

"Huh?" Jowan Xian frowned. That's not right, he clearly said he was the technical director... He pinched his chin, deep in thought. Using his memories from his previous life, he suddenly realized that the middle-aged man who spoke to him that day looked somewhat like the owner of Chelsea FC, Roman Abramovich!

Could it be him?

Recalling the man's behavior that day, he was deliberately avoiding the camera, and he spoke with firmness and decisiveness. Every time he heard Jowan Xian mock Abramovich, he would become furious. So... he really is Abramovich!

Oh my God, I actually made a bet with Abramovich!

Seeing that Jowan Xian was silent for a long time, Kainen gently asked, "Mr. Wanxian, are you interested in this position?"

Jowan Xian, still in shock, swallowed hard and said somewhat nervously, "Mr. Kainen, my coaching certificate is only C-level, I'm afraid I'm not qualified to coach Chelsea FC."

Kainen waved his hand and smiled, "Don't worry about that. There are still more than two months before the new season starts, and the club has enough time to help you with that."

"Can you give me some time to prepare? Hmm... I'm a bit excited, and my emotions might be unstable," Jowan Xian said apologetically.

Kainen smiled and said, "No problem, we'll be waiting for you at the Hyde Hotel nearby to sign the contract."

"Okay..."

After closing the door, Jowan Xian collapsed on the floor, his eyes wide with excitement...

...

...

"Is Mr. Abramovich crazy? Why are we hiring this yellow-skinned pig as the head coach?" As they left Jowan Xian's apartment, a brown-haired man couldn't help but ask.

Kainen frowned and said, "Graed, please don't insult Mr. Abramovich or Mr. Wanxian. That's racial discrimination, and you could go to jail, do you understand?"

Kainen gave Graed a disapproving look and silently noted it down. He would have to report this to Mr. Abramovich later. Trust and harmony are crucial in a team, and such an impulsive person would definitely cause problems within the team.

Graed, clearly unaware of his mistake, continued to argue with a red face, "Didn't Mr. Abramovich say he wanted Mr. Mourinho to take over Chelsea? How much effort have we put into contacting Mourinho? Are we giving up on Mr. Mourinho just to hire a young, unknown yellow-skinned... Asian? Oh God, who even knew this guy existed before today?"

"Enough, Graed, watch your words!"

Kainen's cold rebuke showed he was very angry. Although he couldn't understand why Mr. Abramovich suddenly abandoned Mourinho, the European champion coach from last season, to choose an unknown person, this was not the time to discuss it.

As the CEO of the club, he had a duty to protect the club and the boss's reputation.

The young and impulsive Graed didn't care about that. "My grandfather was a Chelsea manager, and my family has been the club's most loyal fans for generations. I have the right to know the inside story! Is Mr. Abramovich going to ruin this century-old club's brand just because he bought it?"

With that, Graed stormed off, clearly not wanting any more contact with the Asian. He would let them handle the contract. This absurd situation, I, Graed, will not be a part of!

Kainen and his team all had grim expressions.

No matter how you looked at it, they were carrying out the most bizarre and absurd decision in the club's history. It could either become a disgrace or a legend, but it would certainly leave a significant mark on their resumes!

Just from their first meeting with Jowan Xian, they felt his sloppiness, timidity, immaturity, and lack of manners. From this first impression, the possibility of this becoming a disgrace was growing.
