Chapter 59

After 10 rounds of the Premier League, Owen topped the goalscorer list with 15 goals, Kaká followed with 11 goals, and Henry and Rooney were tied for third with 7 goals each. The goalscorer list amazed everyone, but the assist list left all media journalists and football legends gasping in shock!

At the top, Kaká had 16 assists; second was Lampard with 13 assists; third was Joe Cole with 8 assists; and fourth was Rooney with 6 assists. It wasn't until fifth place that the Arsenal's Ice Prince, Bergkamp, appeared with 5 assists in 10 matches.

In the league table, Chelsea occupied the top spot. In the other two important rankings, a crazy blue storm was raging. Especially with 54 goals in 10 matches, averaging an astonishing 5.4 goals per game! Arsenal's offensive capability during the same period had already shocked the entire European football world, but their goal rate of 3.2 goals per game was only half of Chelsea's!

On October 27th, Jowan Xian participated in a BBC TV show called "Legendary Figures."

"Legendary Figures" is a classic prime-time show on BBC, known for its unique style and live broadcasts. Since its creation in 1999, it has aired 58 episodes, each featuring a person standing at the pinnacle of global sports or a renowned figure.

The show's guests are not limited to football; they include basketball, horse racing, tennis, athletics, and even F1 champion Michael Schumacher. This summer, José Mourinho, who led Porto to the Champions League title, was also invited. The 58 episodes represent 58 unique and influential figures.

And the 59th episode of "Legendary Figures" extended an invitation to Chelsea's young manager, Jowan Xian! Over the past two months, Chelsea's dream-like performances and the constant controversy surrounding Jowan Xian have earned him a place in the hall of fame of "Legendary Figures"!

In reality, even though Jowan Xian has led Chelsea to an unbeaten and dominant run across all fronts, winning 13 consecutive matches, he hasn't yet won a significant title, and it's uncertain if this is just a fleeting moment. Normally, Jowan Xian wouldn't meet the criteria for "Legendary Figures." However, Jowan Xian has an advantage over football legends like Ferguson, Wenger, Zidane, and Mourinho: he has long been at the peak of European and world football public opinion!

The fundamental purpose of a TV show is ratings, and the program's producers knew that Jowan Xian's influence was a strong guarantee of high ratings! Moreover, controversy, more than anything else, can create a legend, and that's the charm of contradiction!

The promotional theme for this episode was long but eye-catching: "The youngest, most flamboyant, most individualistic, and most charismatic manager, the young Chinese man with a yellow complexion, will write a legend in the world of football!"

Although the name wasn't directly mentioned, everyone in England knew that the guest for this episode was none other than Chelsea's manager, Jowan Xian!

At 8:00 PM London time, countless fans sat in front of their TVs, tuning to BBC, waiting patiently.

In the villa, Lucy and Cheryl sat on the sofa like strangers, but both had bright eyes fixed on the TV.

Finally, the show began. The first segment was interesting, a fashion show! A dozen of England's top models walked the runway, while Jowan Xian painted alongside. After a few minutes, the fashion show ended, and the host, smiling, walked out, pulling a meter-long scroll with Jowan Xian. The scroll read "Legendary Figures" in bold, flowing characters!

None of the 80 audience members recognized the Chinese characters, but they still burst into thunderous applause. These 80 audience members were not ordinary; they were media journalists or die-hard fans who had paid a premium to attend.

The warm lighting in the studio was a bit ambiguous. After the first segment, Jowan Xian finally took his seat at the host's invitation. However, the seat was surrounded by the dozen models, who kept giving him flirtatious glances, making Jowan Xian feel a bit lightheaded.

"Is this still a sports show? This must be sponsored by Playboy!" Cheryl, seeing this, was furious and said with a tight face.

"Mr. Jowan Xian, it's a great pleasure to have you on 'Legendary Figures.' Could you please greet our audience?" The host was a middle-aged man with a perfect London accent.

Amidst the various perfumes, Jowan Xian said boldly, "Hello, everyone! I am the one who is loved by all, the one who makes flowers bloom, the one who makes cars drive, and the one who makes birds stand still—Jowan Xian!"

The host was speechless for a moment, then asked, "Mr. Jowan Xian, your team is in great form. Do you think your team will win the league title this season?"

This was a classic leading question, and the usual answers would be, "The best team will win," "The season is long, and every team has a chance," "I hope so, but it requires the team's unity and absolute effort"...

However, in this live broadcast in front of all English fans, Jowan Xian didn't lose his boldness and said seriously, "Without a doubt, the Premier League this season has no suspense! I also want to advise other team managers to field their substitutes against Chelsea, so their main players can save their energy for more important matches."

The host touched his nose and asked, "Do you mean that other teams have no chance of winning against Chelsea?"

"Exactly!"

The host took a breath and asked softly, "What about the League Cup this season?"

"Without a doubt, Chelsea!"

"And the FA Cup?"

"Chelsea!"

The host swallowed and said, "And the Champions League? This is the most important competition in European football, and all the major clubs will take it very seriously..."

"Who needs so many reasons? Chelsea will definitely win the title!" Jowan Xian waved his hand and said firmly.

The previous times Jowan Xian said such things were in small, private settings, and people took them as jokes. But who would have thought that this "Big Gun" would say such a shocking statement in front of all English fans!

"Wow..."

The entire audience gasped. It was only two months into the new season, and he was already making such confident promises. Indeed, he was "Big Gun"! The audience covered their mouths in surprise, while the dozen beautiful models around Jowan Xian kept sending him admiring glances, clearly impressed by his overbearing confidence.

The host cleared his throat, feeling that Jowan Xian's words were too strong and needed to be toned down. He laughed and said, "Mr. Jowan Xian, some media say that you are currently cohabiting with Miss Cheryl and Ms. Lucy. Do you want to explain?"

"Explain? Why should I explain?" Jowan Xian smiled contemptuously and said matter-of-factly, "They are my girlfriends, and we live together. What's the problem?"

"Cough... cough..." The host felt a bit choked and asked, wide-eyed, "They... both of them..."

Jowan Xian said seriously, "In the distant East, where my ancestors lived, a successful man will naturally have many women. It's only natural. As a descendant, I must uphold this fine tradition."

The host felt that Jowan Xian was completely颠覆ing his understanding of life and asked, frowning, "Mr. Jowan Xian, can I understand that if you become more successful in your career, you will have more women around you?"

Jowan Xian pinched his chin and thought for a moment, "Hmm... theoretically, yes."

"Buzz!"

A long murmur of surprise!

"Have you heard that you are gay?"

"Nonsense, I'm only interested in women!"

"You have 12 well-known English models around you. I'm sure some of them would be willing to date you..." Sure enough, as soon as the host said this, the models' eyes lit up, and they kept sending flirtatious glances.

Jowan Xian's face changed, and he said sternly, "Sorry, I'm only interested in beautiful women!"

The models' faces turned red with anger, as if they had been insulted. Some of them even stormed off the stage, refusing to continue the recording...

As a live broadcast, such sudden changes are a way to attract viewers' interest, but this time the hype was a bit over the top, leaving even the experienced host unable to control the situation. Jowan Xian... was not just arrogant; he was shameless and morally bankrupt!

The live broadcast was suddenly cut off, switching to a secondary scene, and the host quickly apologized and explained. Cheryl, however, burst out laughing. She had been annoyed by the way those women looked at her boyfriend, but he had handled it well, scolding the models.

But as she thought about it, Cheryl frowned, wondering, "What did he mean by that? Successful men always have many women around them. Now there's me and Lucy. Could it be... he dares to bring more women home?"

The thought made her shiver, and she glanced over to see Lucy, who seemed unaffected, holding a joke book, eating a banana, and giggling.

"Heartless! Is he still your man?" Cheryl muttered angrily.
