Chapter 10

He Ping no longer remembered how many people he had killed. He only remembered that whether they were heavily armed infantry with kite shields and long swords, or long spear soldiers, or even the cavalry riding and slashing, none of them could withstand even one of his attacks. Whenever he struck, someone would die. At first, He Ping felt a bit uncomfortable, but gradually, his efficiency increased, and he even began to wonder if he was a natural-born killer.

He Ping's unstoppable charge quickly tore a hole in the front line of the Auckland forces. The Tianhua soldiers around him naturally did not miss this opportunity, and even Zhao Zheng, not far behind, led his soldiers through the gap and charged into the Auckland formation. From Zhao Zheng's tactical perspective, this was a good opportunity to secure victory. What was supposed to be a tough battle now seemed to result in much lower actual losses than expected.

At this moment, He Ping finally encountered an opponent who could barely withstand his attacks. It was a cavalryman on horseback. However, this cavalryman had not charged with the other cavalry and infantry but had been observing from behind. The clearly more refined plate armor he wore indicated his unusual status. The silver hair and handsome face visible from his helmet made He Ping quite displeased.

At first, He Ping thought this silver-haired, pretty-faced man was just a silver-tipped spear with a wax core, looking like a sissy with his slender build. But to He Ping's surprise, when he casually swung his halberd at the man, the man actually blocked it with a long spear. This was the first time since the battle began that He Ping's attack had been blocked, and he immediately put away his underestimation.

Clearly, anyone who could block He Ping's attack was no ordinary person. The long spear that could withstand the heavy halberd was certainly not a common weapon. The man's ability to wield such a long spear demonstrated his considerable strength. Thus, He Ping focused and began to fight the man seriously. However, after a series of exchanges, He Ping found that he not only failed to gain any advantage but was even being suppressed.

He Ping was not stupid, and his mind was sharp. He quickly realized the reason: technique. Although the man's strength was slightly inferior to He Ping's, his technique was far superior. He Ping noticed that not only the man but also the ordinary soldiers of both Tianhua and Auckland around them displayed considerable skill in using their weapons.

The Battlefield!

He Ping recalled the name given to this world on the gate in the tower. Considering everyone's performance, He Ping guessed that the "soldier" in the name "Battlefield" referred to weapons. The reason this world was called the Battlefield was likely due to the advanced weapon techniques here. This explanation made sense and also gave He Ping an idea of how to deal with this strong opponent.

Swish!

The sound of the halberd breaking the air at high speed made the surrounding ordinary soldiers feel uncomfortable. If hit, one would either die or be severely injured. When "Silver Wolf" Chris saw the attack coming, he instinctively dodged. However, he underestimated He Ping's strength. Although the attack did not directly hit Chris, it broke the neck of his warhorse, which fell to the ground and died after a few struggles.

Chris reacted instantly when his horse fell, jumping to the side. But He Ping did not pause after the first strike that killed the horse. He swung his halberd horizontally, and the second strike aimed at Chris. As soon as this attack was launched, Chris knew he could not dodge it. If he could not dodge, he had to resist. Chris used all his strength, swinging his long spear to meet the rapidly approaching halberd.

Bang!

A loud noise made the surrounding soldiers momentarily pause. The halberd and the long spear collided fiercely. This was a contest of strength. Chris had always believed that he was born with great strength, and despite his slender build, his power surpassed that of famous strongmen. However, he did not expect that the Tianhua teenager, who looked only in his teens and not yet fully grown, was even stronger.

After the collision of the two weapons, Chris was thrown to the side by the massive impact. If he had not timely dissipated the force, he might have suffered serious internal injuries. In contrast, He Ping was unaffected and immediately launched the next attack. Realizing this, Chris was greatly alarmed, feeling a sense of defeat and anger.

Chris had always been a prodigy, believing that if he had not been unwilling to study politics and leadership and only enjoyed charging into battle, he should have been the most outstanding young man of the Lance family, not the reclusive Trevor or his cunning older brother. With his natural strength, Chris's pride was evident. He had never experienced setbacks or defeat, which made him increasingly arrogant.

Facing He Ping, he did not believe he would lose. If He Ping fell into his rhythm and competed in technique, He Ping would surely lose. However, He Ping quickly identified his strengths and weaknesses, stopped competing in weapon techniques, and used his strength to overwhelm. One force can overcome ten techniques—this was He Ping's strategy, and it proved highly effective. As soon as He Ping changed his approach, he immediately gained the upper hand.

This was a significant blow to Chris. In his view, He Ping was just a strong but foolish person who did not know how to use his strength. But this "fool" had forced him into this situation. Chris became enraged, refusing to believe he would lose to such a fool. In his fury, he lost his composure, and his attacks became even more fierce and sharp. But to He Ping, this was just a desperate struggle.

Relying on his speed and reaction, He Ping dodged several of Chris's attacks. Taking advantage of the moment when Chris was in a hard lock after a move, He Ping raised his halberd and smashed it down on Chris. Although Chris barely blocked the attack with his long spear, He Ping, who had already grasped the rhythm, immediately followed up with another strike. On the second strike, Chris's long spear broke, and on the third, Chris could no longer resist.

Thus, the Silver Wolf was beaten to death by He Ping.
