Curiosity, excitement, indifference—various expressions appeared on the faces of the residents of this peculiar city. He Ping curiously observed them, and they, in turn, curiously observed him. He Ping noticed that these people seemed very welcoming. However, the middle-aged and elderly residents showed little special interest in him. Perhaps their life experiences had made them more composed. In any case, they neither showed the curiosity to investigate nor the wariness to reject. They seemed indifferent.

At this moment, a boy who looked to be less than ten years old, standing close to He Ping, was the first to speak to him. Of course, the language he spoke was incomprehensible to He Ping. Perhaps because He Ping could understand their language and spoke it fluently, or perhaps because the boy's conversation with him set an example, the young people who had been excited but hesitant to approach him now gathered around, bombarding him with questions. He Ping felt very awkward. He was not unwilling to answer their questions, but he simply could not understand many of the words they used.

While He Ping was still pondering how to deal with these young people, a整齐的脚步声从人群外围传来，显然是不少人整齐前进的步伐。同时，人群的一个方向也发生了变化，刚才还围着的人纷纷让开，周围的年轻人们露出了一副崇拜的表情，一条通道出现在了何平的面前，一支数十人组成的队伍从通道的尽头朝着何平的方向走来。

这数十人的穿着相比起周围的其他居民显得更加严肃端庄，而且非常精干，看上去就像是军装警服一样。这些人同样也和衣服非常相配，个个人高马大，目光坚毅。为首的是一个看上去二十来岁的男青年，精干的短发加上方方正正的国字脸，给人一种典型军人的感觉。男青年来到何平的面前，先是右手放在胸口微微一躬，接着开口说道：

"阁下，欢迎来到加尔斯市，我是加尔斯市圣光卫队第一中队第三小队小队长欧文，奉元老院之命，邀请阁下前往元老院一叙。"

"是圣龙中队的人！我居然能够这么近距离的看到他们，今天真是太幸运了！"

"圣光卫队亲自来，也就是说这件事已经惊动元老院了吗？"

"竟然是元老院亲自邀请，好厉害！"

"可是这事情今天才刚刚发生没多久，元老院为什么会这么快就做出反应？就像是……"

"就像是预言一样！难道说大长老已经看到了些什么东西吗？"

看到前来迎接何平的这几十人，以及听到欧文刚刚所说的话，何平还没有来得及做出什么反应，周围的年轻人们就叽叽喳喳的讨论开了。这其中有不少的名词都是何平比较在意的，不过现在，何平最为在意的就只有：“元老院？邀请我？”

对于何平的反应，似乎也在欧文的预料之中，他没有表现出明显的异样，继续说道：“是的，元老院邀请阁下前往一叙，大长老在派我前来的时候，让我对阁下说，阁下应该也对这个世界抱有很多疑问，并且还说，他能够帮助阁下解开诸多的疑问。”

在说这句话的时候，欧文也露出了些许疑惑不解的表情，实在是因为这句话当中的一些字眼他也无法理解，因此也只能按照大长老的原话直接说出来。大长老还告诉过他，只要说出这些话，何平这个外来者就会跟随他前来，这也让欧文有点摸不着头脑。不过能够完成大长老交给他的任务，这些疑惑也就无所谓了。

果然，何平在听到“这个世界”的时候眼皮一跳。一般人不会这么用这个词汇，除非知道除了这个世界之外，还有另外的世界。那也就是说，这个所谓的大长老，难道已经知道了他来自于不同世界的事实？不管究竟如何，只要到了元老院，见到了大长老，一切就都能够解决。想到这里，何平干脆地对欧文说道：“那好吧，我们现在就过去。”

欧文松了一口气，接着便和其他队员们一起带着何平走向了一条较为宽阔的街道。在那里，等候着何平以及欧文等人的是，一辆汽车……汽车？汽车！何平稍微有点发愣，从最初来到这里所见识到的光景来看，汽车这种东西实在是太违和了。

接着何平又向周围看了看，刚才因为人多，光顾着看人了没有注意，现在才发现，路边那些柱子，看上去虽然和主世界有点不同，但也能够看出应该是一个个的路灯。而且从其他地方看，也能够看得出这里的城市设施似乎相当先进，充满了科技的感觉。难道说，这个文明等级被定为四级的世界，是和主世界一样的风格吗？
