Chapter 31: This Girl is a Dog

"Stop! You want to leave after bullying me? No way!" Seeing Ye Huang about to leave, Xiao Lin couldn't help but feel anxious. She had originally just wanted to make this bastard angry, but she didn't expect him to be so ungentlemanly and just walk away. Stepping forward, Xiao Lin pouted her small mouth and refused to let it go.

It turned out that after Ye Huang had finished posting ads around the university, he had also put them on utility poles and other conspicuous places on his way back. "How would I know? I've only been back for a day. Seriously, these people have nothing better to do. If I post an ad, they report it. I could just take it down if they called me."

At this point, Ye Huang realized that Xiao Lin wasn't intentionally targeting him but had actually helped him. He felt a bit embarrassed and spoke more gently.

Just as Xiao Lin finished speaking, a hurried set of footsteps approached. Ye Huang and the others turned to see five or six police officers walking over, led by a young man who looked about Ye Huang's age.

Xiao Lin's face immediately fell when she saw the leader. She clearly disliked him. Ye Huang noticed her change in expression and smiled with a hint of amusement but said nothing.

"Lingling, what are you doing here?" The young man, seeing Xiao Lin, immediately smiled and walked over.

"A kidnapping case happened here, so I came to check it out. As for you, it's been so long since the report, why are you just getting here?" Xiao Lin clearly didn't want to talk to him and spoke coldly.

"Hehe, a friend came to the station, so I was delayed a few minutes. I sent him off and came over as soon as I could," the young man replied with a smile.

Hearing this, Ye Huang's face fell. A police officer's duty was to respond immediately to a kidnapping report and rescue the hostage. This guy had chatted with a friend before coming over, clearly not taking his job seriously. Ye Huang now understood why Xiao Lin didn't want to talk to him.

"Yuan Ming, how can you be so irresponsible? This is dereliction of duty! Do you realize that those few minutes you spent chatting could have led to the hostage's death or other unforeseen situations? Don't you understand that?"

Hearing Yuan Ming's explanation, Xiao Lin wanted to slap him. Her eyes blazed as she asked sternly.

"Lingling, let it go. It's not a big deal, and she's fine, right? By the way, I have a dinner party and need a female companion. How about you come with me?"

Yuan Ming completely dismissed Xiao Lin's words, smiling and joking.

"Don't call me Lingling, we're not that close. As for the dinner party, I'm busy and have no interest in being your companion. Find someone else."

"Alright, since you're here, you handle it. I have something to do, so I'm leaving." With that, Xiao Lin coldly snorted and walked out of the alley.

Ye Huang, though he wanted to kick this guy, saw that he was arrogant and likely had some background. Following the principle of avoiding trouble, he just glanced at him and led Luo Yumo out of the alley, leaving Yuan Ming and his group standing there in shock.
