In the tea shed, the firewood under the stove was leaping brightly and warmly.
On the stove, three or four teapots had already boiled, emitting wisps of white smoke carrying a strong aroma of coarse tea.
Luo Yuer, petite in stature, was only a head taller than the stove. She wore a hemp apron, rolled up her sleeves, and exposed her two small, jade-like arms. She was busy working and greeting the guests who were drinking tea.
This little girl was quite serious about her work, beads of sweat appearing on her forehead and in her hair, her delicate face flushed red from the stove fire.
"Little Yuer, how come the two bowls of Maojian tea for Uncle Liu are not ready yet?" Old Luo was tidying up the teacups on the table, urging her.
Old Luo's forehead was still wrapped in thick bandages, but for the sake of living, he had to work despite his injuries.
"Coming! Coming! Two bowls of piping hot Maojian!" Luo Yuer carried two coarse earthenware bowls filled with hot tea, her fingers turning red from the heat. She pinched her ears and then continued to work by the stove.
"Little Miss Yuer, how much for the bill?" someone teased.
"Two copper coins, put them on the table! Grandpa will collect the money!" Although Luo Yuer was extremely busy, she always had a smile on her face, as if she never knew fatigue.
Feng Feiyun watched her quietly, a smile involuntarily appearing on his face. He slowly walked into the tea shed, sat down at a table, and called out, "Little Miss Yuer, bring me a bowl of coarse iced tea."
"Sure, a bowl of coarse..." Luo Yuer's voice suddenly stopped. She turned around and, upon seeing Feng Feiyun sitting at the table, couldn't help but shudder. The earthenware teapot in her hand fell to the ground and shattered into pieces.
Why is this big villain here again?
The people who had come to the tea shed to drink tea all fixed their eyes on Feng Feiyun, as if they had seen a plague god.
"Heaven! It's only been two days, and Young Master Feng is already causing trouble again!"
"Quick, quick!"
Everyone was extremely afraid, not even drinking their tea, and ran away, leaving the once bustling tea shed suddenly quiet.
Only the bewildered Old Luo and the timid Luo Yuer remained, staring at Feng Feiyun with fear in their eyes.
"Damn it, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and bring tea to our Young Master, or I'll tear down this破棚子!" Feng Ping stood behind Feng Feiyun, his face fierce, his voice like a thunderclap.
Feng An also rolled up his sleeves, ready to strike.
Luo Yuer bit her lip, her eyes blinking, looking very pitiful. She pleaded, "Young Master Feng, please don't tear down this tea shed. It's our only source of income. Otherwise, my grandpa and I will starve to death."
Seeing her pitiful look, Feng Feiyun felt amused and smiled, "I just want to drink the tea you make. One bowl of tea, one gold coin. Will you do this business?"
"One bowl of tea for one gold coin?" Luo Yuer's eyes widened like two black grapes, clearly not believing Feng Feiyun. A gold coin was a huge sum of money to her, enough to last her and her grandpa for a year.
Feng Feiyun smiled and took a handful of golden coins from his pocket, about ten in total, each weighing about one or two taels.
"Clatter!"
Feng Feiyun scattered the coins on the table and repeated, "As long as it's the tea you make yourself, one bowl of tea, one gold coin."
Luo Yuer curiously examined Feng Feiyun, wondering what he was up to.
Finally, her gaze fell on the coins on the table. She paused for a moment and said, "You can't go back on your word, and you can't bully me or my grandpa."
"If you keep making conditions, do you think I won't bully you right now?" Feng Feiyun's face showed an evil smile, and he rubbed his hands together, deliberately scaring the little girl.
Old Luo's face changed, fearing that Luo Yuer would anger Feng Feiyun. He quickly said, "Yuer, can you afford to offend Young Master Feng? You silly girl, go make the tea quickly."
Luo Yuer was also startled, recalling how Young Master Feng's hands had pinched her that night, causing her pain. She instinctively covered her chest, feeling a chill, and hurried to the stove to make tea, not daring to say another word.
Old Luo walked over, constantly apologizing to Feng Feiyun.
Feng Feiyun, of course, wasn't really angry with her; he was just playing with her. This might also be influenced by Young Master Feng's former dissolute character.
"Old Luo, when is this month's rent due?" a cold, deep voice came from outside the tea shed.
Feng Feiyun remained seated at the tea table, glancing sideways. Outside the tea shed, five or six men were standing, all wearing dark red sashes, each with ill intentions, their eyes like hawks.
The one standing at the front was particularly tall, with dark skin and muscular build, full of explosive power, capable of smashing a person's head with one punch.
This was Wu Lao Da, the leader of the largest gang in Lingzhou City, the Eagle Claw Gang.
In his hand, which was as strong as a steel rod, he held a thick iron chain, the other end of which was tied to the neck of a three-meter-tall red-eyed golden beast, as large as an elephant, with astonishing attacking power.
The beast's four legs were as thick as pillars, its red eyes like burning flames. One charge could shatter a five-meter-high city wall.
This was a red-eyed golden beast, which Wu Lao Da had bought at a high price from the "Beast Taming Shop." As long as he walked around Lingzhou City with this giant beast, all shop owners would obediently pay the rent.
Wu Lao Da's pockets, of course, swelled.
"Roar!"
The red-eyed golden beast raised its head and roared, the sound echoing across half of Lingzhou City, causing the ground to tremble and shattering two teacups in the tea shed.
Hearing the roar of the red-eyed golden beast, everyone knew that Wu Lao Da had arrived. Pedestrians on the street quickly moved away, while some bold ones secretly watched, curious. It was just a rent collection, yet Wu Lao Da had come in person, which was unusual!
Old Luo's heart sank. What a bad day, to encounter the two most difficult bullies and young masters in Lingzhou City. This year's fortune was truly bad!
Old Luo stumbled out of the tea shed, took out a money bag from his pocket, and respectfully handed it to Wu Lao Da, smiling, "I've been ready, I've been ready! Three hundred copper coins, not a single one missing!"
Old Luo glanced at the towering and fierce red-eyed golden beast, unable to stop trembling. Its mouth seemed capable of swallowing him whole.
He felt a chill from the core, his body shivering, and he stumbled back two steps.
Wu Lao Da took the money bag, poured the hundreds of copper coins on the ground, the sound of the coins landing like "ding ding."
"How can it be so little? Old Luo, have you eaten a bear's heart and a leopard's gall? Do you think you can get rid of me, Wu Lao Da, with these few coins? Do you take me for a beggar?" Wu Lao Da roared, his voice like a bell, almost making Old Luo faint.
Sweat poured down Old Luo's forehead as he trembled, "Last month, you only collected three hundred copper coins, not a single one less!"
Wu Lao Da's lips curled into a smile, "This month is the third master's birthday. Every household in Lingzhou City must pay an additional five hundred copper coins as a gift. Old Luo, you are a honest man, so just pay the additional five hundred copper coins, and I won't make things difficult for you."
Old Luo and Luo Yuer's tea shed was already a small business, barely earning a thousand copper coins a month. Three hundred were given to Wu Lao Da, leaving seven hundred to barely make ends meet.
And this month, they had to pay an additional five hundred copper coins. How could they survive?
Feng Feiyun lightly tapped the red dragon treasure knife on the table and smiled, "Who is this third master? He has such a big reputation that his birthday requires a gift from all the citizens?"
Feng Ping said, "This third master is no ordinary person. He is the number one villain in Lingzhou City, specializing in black market trades, slave trading, running brothels, managing gambling dens, and even murder. Many people are afraid of him."
"An old saying in Lingzhou City goes: Offend Young Master Feng, and your wife and daughter will scatter; offend the third master, and your family will be destroyed." Feng An added.
Feng Feiyun and the third master were the two biggest villains in Lingzhou City, one wanting women, the other wanting lives.
Feng Feiyun was taken aback. He didn't realize he had such a big reputation in Lingzhou City!
Two big villains, interesting!
Feng Ping added, "This Wu Lao Da is the top enforcer under the third master, the leader of the Eagle Claw Gang, with thousands of thugs under his command, a thoroughly evil bastard."
"Isn't he a match for me?" Feng Feiyun asked.
"How can he compare to you, Young Master? At least you treat women with respect. Wu Lao Da, that bastard, has a group of men gang-rape a woman until she dies." Feng Ping said.
Feng Feiyun originally thought he was a bastard, but compared to Wu Lao Da, he suddenly felt more noble and pure.
