With a deadly Final Wind Slash unleashed and it severed the Fire Dragon’s head. If my exploits were to be written in a book like those of hero parties, this move would undoubtedly be recorded as my signature skill. I’m sure it would be a hit if that ever happened in the future, leaving everyone in awe.
…However, it feels kind of good to shout out the name of the technique. And Bell and the spirits loved my finishing move. Silphy seemed a bit puzzled, though…
“Final Wind Slash!”
Bell yelled the name of the technique and swung down her tiny right hand towards Rain.
“Kyukyukyuuu!”
Rain yelped, flailed dramatically, and then fell to the ground, pretending to be dead. The performance was quite elaborate.
“Woohoo! That was fun!”
Bell was thrilled, waving her arms and legs in excitement. It reminded me of when I imitated superhero shows as a child. It’s always fun.
Looking back, Alec and the others, as well as Muscle, were stunned. It seemed like the power of Final Wind Slash had temporarily paralyzed their thoughts.
I’ll leave them be for now because I don’t know what kind of reaction I’ll get if I approach and talk to them. With Bell and the others, who were having a great time, I stored the Fire Dragon’s head and body in the magic bag.
As the Fire Dragon disappeared before our eyes, the other adventurers started moving.
“Yuta-san, what was that just now? Final Wind Slash?”
Alec approached, his eyes sparkling with excitement. Or was I imagining things?
“Well, it’s a finishing move. It’s a secret, so please don’t ask for details.”
“A finishing move? I’ve never met a proper spirit mage before, and to possess such power… Now I understand why prestigious spirit mages are surrounded by royalty and nobility.”
“I’m also impressed. There was no magical movement, and I had no idea what happened, but before I knew it, the Fire Dragon’s head was gone. I’d love to learn it if possible, but if it’s a secret, I suppose it’s impossible.”
Not only Alec and Muscle, but also their party members praised me. It made me feel awkward, being admired by magicians I looked up to.
Final Wind Slash… Just a combination of words for a random finishing move. In reality, when I swing my right hand down, it’s Silphy’s cue to cut off the Fire Dragon’s head. It doesn’t have any real significance.
It’s just a made-up finishing move to mislead the people who will receive reports from Labyrinth’s Wing or Muscle Star. But it seems to be gaining quite a reputation… which is awkward.
“Anyway, let’s head to the 51st floor quickly. That’s why we came here in the first place.”
As my heart ached, I urged them to move forward and head to the staircase leading to the 51st floor. The door that opens when the Fire Dragon is defeated is already wide open, but no one seems to pay attention to it.
Actually, this scene should be an important one, where the door that only a few adventurers could pass through in the long history of the labyrinth city finally opens after overcoming various hardships. But now it seems to open up without anyone noticing, looking somewhat lonely.
“My role ends here since this is the 51st floor. I don’t know if you all will move forward or return, but please be careful about your safety. I don’t want to be blamed if you all get wiped out, so just a word of caution.”
I wanted to part ways quickly, but I should warn them in case they never return to the Adventurer’s Guild. I guess it’s better to have something in writing? Oh, but if they all die, I might be suspected of killing them, so it’s probably pointless.
“Yuta-san, now that we’re sure of the difference in abilities, we won’t accompany you any further. However, could we get some information about what lies ahead? We don’t intend to act recklessly, but we would prefer firsthand information from you rather than relying solely on records. Of course, we’ll pay for the information.”
Muscle calmly asked for information. If he didn’t puff up his muscles from time to time, he’d seem like a really serious person. The problem is that I was discouraged by the number of mountain ranges and monsters seen from the sky, so I hardly landed on the ground, resulting in limited information.
“Yes, that’s right. From here to the 59th floor, the number of monsters is overwhelming. Even the goblins, which should be a piece of cake for all of you A-rankers, act in ways that induce fatigue under the command of their King. You’ll need to assess your stamina carefully; otherwise, you might get overwhelmed by their sheer numbers.”
“So, it’s going to be a group battle after all.”
Muscle seemed to be pondering the situation. There were so many monsters swarming around that it was clear just by looking from the sky. Once you’re spotted, it would be troublesome.
“Power balances vary on each floor of the mountain, but there’s a king for each species, leading numerous minions. The gaps between their territories seemed relatively safe. As long as you don’t get surrounded or your retreat cutoff, you should be able to survive. I only have this much information, so I won’t ask for an information fee.”
I wanted to part ways immediately, but they kept asking various questions, seemingly intending to confirm if they could collect magic grass and omnipotent grass on their own. Well, it’s only natural; there’s no point in going beyond the 50th floor if they can’t do that.
Since I didn’t want them to die and cause trouble, I honestly admitted what I didn’t know and also shared the rough distribution of monsters seen from the sky. They were planning to explore up to the 56th floor this time and then return, but I still hoped they wouldn’t die.
————-
Parting ways with Labyrinth’s Wing and Muscle Star, I asked Silphy to take us to the 60th floor in one go. Last time, I didn’t want any trouble, so I didn’t fight the boss, but this time, I’ll have to fight to move forward.
“Everyone, this time it’s a group battle, so we don’t know what we’ll be facing. Please lend me your strength, Bell and the others. I want to fight as well, so please refrain from using powerful techniques and focus on reducing their numbers.”
“Yes sir!” “Kyukyukyuuu!” “Yes sir!” “Kukukukuu!”
Bell and the others replied, standing at attention with cute poses before the battle. Even though it’s before the fight, it warms my heart.
“Yuta, why don’t you just defeat them all at once? With your current abilities, you can handle whatever comes, right?”
Silphy asked me curiously. The boss on this floor appears from the 56th to the 59th floor, and it’s said that the King of the most powerful species appears with their subordinates.
Since the boss monster is random, it’s not a sure thing, and an adventurer who had doubts about the discrepancies with the records investigated it. When it was a hero, it was an Orc King, but for the adventurer, a Troll King appeared. The annotations in the hero’s book also mentioned instances of a Goblin King appearing.
“We can defeat them with everyone’s help, but I haven’t engaged in direct combat much recently, so I want to fight myself.”
I might forget how to fight in close quarters, and I also need to give my exploration tools a chance to be used; otherwise, they’ll get rusty.
“I guess you’re right. You have been engaging in less direct combat lately, so it’s a good opportunity. Still, for caution, you should wear your natural armor.”
“You think so? My level has gone up considerably since the last time I fought a same-ranked Lich, and with Wind Wall alone, won’t it be enough?”
It’s not like anyone is watching, so it should be fine, but I feel a bit embarrassed wearing armor that faintly glows with magic. Shouting “Final Wind Slash” is much more enjoyable for me. It’s a way to relieve stress.
“Yuta, wearing armor? Let’s do it!”
Ah, I’m done for. If Bell and the others get motivated, I’ll have to wear the natural armor; otherwise, they’ll be sad. I feel like I’ve become more resigned recently.
“Alright then, please.”
“Yes sir!” “Kyukyukyuuu!” “Yes sir!” “Kukukukuu!”
Behind Bell and the others, who energetically saluted, Silphy was smiling happily. It seems she got exactly what she wanted. I put on the natural armor under the cute performance by Bell and the others.
“Thank you, now I can relax.”
“Feeling safe~” “Kyuuu~” “Invincible~” “Kuu~”
Yeah, Turu has complete faith in the natural armor. But saying it’s invincible might be going too far. If it’s against a Fire Dragon, I might get squashed with a flick. Bell casts Wind Wall on me, and I prepare my hammer before opening the door and entering. Now, what awaits us?
In the mountainous landscape… There are so many Orcs. The room is filled with countless Orcs. It reminds me of the Undead’s nest, but at least the Orcs don’t smell as bad, so it’s slightly better. But it doesn’t look like they’re in the mood to go easy and secure some meat.
“Bgyaaah!”
As a loud voice echoed from the depths of the group, the Orcs aligned their steps and marched towards me. They’re quite imposing… I feel like running outside and closing the door, but I can’t move forward without defeating this group. They seem more manageable than Trolls and Ogres, so let’s do our best.
“Alright, everyone, let’s go.”
With my level and the natural armor, along with the exploration tools, Orcs are nothing more than scraps. I’ll crush them all.
———-
For now, I’ve been overwhelming the small fry. However, it’s definitely tougher than fighting Zombies and Skeletons. Zombies had no intelligence and just mindlessly attacked, but Orcs each possess some level of consciousness.
They try to get around behind me, and when I approach, they distance themselves. Although they’re weak, they make it difficult to overwhelm them completely due to the organization under the Orc King.
As I charged in with my hammer at the beginning, I was lured in… completely lured in and surrounded in the middle of the massive group of Orcs. When they laughed at me, it was quite heartbreaking.
Enduring the sadness, I used the hammer’s spinning attack repeatedly to break through the encirclement of Orcs. I thought I could handle them easily since my level has increased significantly since the battle with the same-ranked Lich, but it didn’t go as expected.
Frustrated by their laughter, I called Bell and the others, and we lined up at equal intervals in a straight line, charging head-on into the Orc group. Bell and Rain on the left, Turu and Tamamo on the right, and I swung my hammer in the center while Bell and the others used single-target magic to hunt down the Orcs, following my pace.
Finally, with a direct attack on the Orc formation, I felt relieved. The Orc King, left without any followers, was no match for me now. For the sake of securing meat and magic stones, I switched to the magic saw and cleanly cut off its head.
“Phew, it’s over. Thanks, everyone, you saved me.”
As I expressed my gratitude, Bell and the others gathered around, asking for more compliments, so I enthusiastically praised and petted them as usual.
“Yuta, well done. But even if you have such power, charging into a large army with your hammer is not a good idea when dealing with intelligent monsters. It might work against Zombies and Skeletons, but it won’t be effective against creatures that can think.”
Silphy was absolutely right. I like the idea of swinging my hammer and charging into a large army like in a game, but I realize now that it won’t work when I’m being so easily manipulated. Ever since the General Zombie, this strategy has hardly been successful. Maybe it would work better if I level up more?
“Yeah, from now on, I’ll think more before fighting. I’ve noticed that things don’t go well when I do this.”
Silphy nodded in agreement, so I’ll think about my battle strategies later. For now, I’ll store the numerous Orcs and call Dyne. The next battle will be her stage; she’s probably eager for her turn, so let’s hurry.

From the author: I’ve received several comments asking why I don’t teach communication with spirits, etc.
The reason is that if I make it public, the method would spread beyond the protagonist’s reach, and it would be troublesome if others start using spirits for wars or things he can’t handle. So, I wants to choose who he teaches it to and keeps it hidden.
I’ve also received feedback that the protagonist hasn’t done anything to improve his reputation as a spirit magician. But the plan is to slowly advance by training disciples who can properly use spirit magic.
Regarding incantations, in the case of casting powerful spirit magic like defeating the Fire Dragon without incantation, it was written with the idea of drawing attention to the relationship with the spirits, thus the use of incantations.
I understand that I may not have explained these ideas clearly enough in the main text, and I apologize for that. I’ll try to write more effectively in the future, so thank you for your understanding.
Thank you for reading.
