Chapter 98 of 100
Chapter 98
3 min read751 words
It went up on the 19th, and it's been 12 days now. I've updated 330,000 words of the paid chapters, which is pretty good, considering there was only one update each weekend. It seems the old eagle still has it.
It's just a little disappointing... not getting any monthly votes... But it's fine, I'll definitely get them next month, and there's still a chance that everyone might vote a few times.
The initial subscription numbers aren't low, and the promotional boost was significant, reaching 55,000. It feels a bit inflated, though; the actual number isn't that high. The average subscription today is only 30,000, but it's still okay. It seems to be higher than during the "Ten Thousand Clans" period. Getting an average of 30,000 subscriptions in 10 days is pretty good, especially since it's just the beginning. I usually write the first million words as an introduction, and only after that do I get into the main plot... This book might also only get into the main plot after a million words, but there's no rush.
In 12 days, I've ranked second on the monthly vote list, and today I took the top spot in the bestseller list... Well, I hope I'm still on top tomorrow, even though it's tough to compete with someone who has an average of 100,000 subscriptions. But what's there to be afraid of? Let's do it!
I won't talk too much about the results. Let's talk about the plot. This book does have some connections to "High Martial," but it's not necessary to have read it to enjoy this one. Just treat it as a normal new book. There are some unknown strong figures from ancient civilizations in the new book, but it's easy to get into, so don't worry too much about it.
It's a world set many years in the future, so just treat it as a new world.
Why did I have to write this, a so-called sequel to "High Martial"?
It's not a sequel!
It's just that after finishing this book, I don't really want to write high-fantasy martial arts anymore. It might be a way to wrap things up.
To be honest, writing three books on the same theme... it's a bit... tiring!
I'm actually an urban writer, then I wrote a semi-urban high-fantasy martial arts book, followed by a bit of urban content in "Ten Thousand Clans," and then I switched to full-fledged high-fantasy. I can be considered a very successful writer in terms of transformation. All three books were popular, even "Star Gate" was a hit.
But writing three books in a row... it's really exhausting.
When I started this one, I didn't want to write a connected story, but later... you know, I was at a loss for what to write, so I made some changes and decided to write it in the current style.
Anyway, after finishing "Star Gate," even if I write again, I probably won't write this genre anymore, or maybe the one after next. I definitely need a change. I can't handle the constant high-energy content anymore; it's making me feel a bit overwhelmed.
I'll just briefly talk about this issue. Don't worry too much about it. I write fast, so who knows, maybe if the next book flops, I'll come back to this genre. Hahaha!
Let's not talk about the future. Let's just focus on "Star Gate."
Next month, in September, will be the first full month of "Star Gate" being officially available. This month was too short, so we only got third place. To be honest, third place is pretty good, but... it's not very satisfying.
Next month, which is in two hours, everyone, please give more votes. It's okay to fall behind at the beginning of the month. Just cast your guaranteed monthly votes, and by the end of the month, we'll all have votes. Let's go all out. Whether we end up first or not, we'll aim for the top. Even if we don't get first place, we'll put some pressure on them... let them know that I, the old eagle, am back!
I just love doing this, making people nervous, poking them a bit to give them some pressure and motivation. Hahaha!
Also, thank you all for your support this month. You've been amazing, with generous rewards, subscriptions, and votes. You're all awesome, and I wish you all the best!
Let's keep going, work hard, and keep pushing. If we don't die, we'll push others to their limits!
