Chapter 2

The woman looked at Lu Yin helplessly, "Actually, if you had just asked, I would have helped you. I have people behind me too."

"No need," Lu Yin said indifferently.

The woman sighed, "Alright, stay in touch. Don't worry, I'll keep an eye on them. I'm leaving." She smiled at Lu Yin and turned to leave, leaving behind a trail of fragrance.

Lu Yin closed his eyes again; the woman's arrival had no effect on him at all.

In the middle of the night, the beautiful woman came again. She looked at Lu Yin and smiled, "Congratulations, your troubles are over."

Lu Yin looked at her with confusion.

The woman said, "I asked my older brother to take action. Zhang Tong has been captured. My older brother wants you to come and discuss how to deal with them."

Lu Yin's eyes flashed, and he stood up, "Let's go."

The woman smiled and led the way, crossing the flames and arriving about three hundred meters away from the group. Although this place was not entirely safe, it was not too far away.

The moment Lu Yin arrived, Zhang Tong, the evolutionist who had bullied the girls, and the dozen or so people with him were all kneeling on the ground. In front of them stood a tall man with his hands behind his back.

"Big Brother, Lu Yin is here," the beautiful woman said in a sweet voice, walking to the man's side.

The man turned around and smiled at Lu Yin, "You are Lu Yin?"

Lu Yin nodded.

"I am Liu Sheng, one of the leaders of this group," the man said, looking at Lu Yin with a proud expression.

Lu Yin said indifferently, "I know."

Liu Sheng frowned; he did not like Lu Yin's attitude. "What do you plan to do with these people? Hand them over to you."

Lu Yin looked at Liu Sheng, "What are the conditions?"

Liu Sheng's lips curled up, and he stared at Lu Yin, "Let's be straightforward. I've heard about you and observed you. You haven't absorbed any energy crystals from mutated beasts, but you are very powerful. Can you tell me why?"

Beside him, the beautiful woman looked at Lu Yin expectantly, as did Zhang Tong and the other evolutionists kneeling on the ground.

Lu Yin smiled, "Is this why you brought me here?"

Liu Sheng smiled faintly and looked at the beautiful woman.

The woman took a few steps forward, walked to Lu Yin's side, and blew a breath at him, saying in a sweet voice, "Big Brother Lu, can you tell us? Is it another path of evolution? If you tell us, you'll be telling all of humanity, and all of humanity will be grateful. And I can keep you company," she said, leaning against Lu Yin.

Lu Yin turned his head to look at the beautiful woman, "I said, if you do it again, you die." As he spoke, the iron rod flashed, and the beautiful woman clutched her neck, blood flowing down her fingers, staining her clothes. She collapsed in disbelief, not taking Lu Yin's words seriously and never expecting him to dare kill her in front of Liu Sheng, who was one of the leaders and a human-level strong man.

Liu Sheng was also stunned; he never expected Lu Yin to be so bold.

Lu Yin shook the iron rod, "You are very annoying. Ever since this group was formed, you've been watching me. Tonight, it ends." He then charged at Liu Sheng, the iron rod swinging down.

Liu Sheng was furious, "You're asking for death." He drew a long sword from his waist, blocking the iron rod. In his view, this strike would not only block Lu Yin's attack but also severely injure him. However, reality was the opposite; his sword was split in two, and the iron rod left a deep, bone-deep wound on his right shoulder.

Liu Sheng was incredulous; he was a human-level strong man, capable of taking on many ordinary evolutionists, yet he was defeated by Lu Yin in one move. How was that possible?

Lu Yin, having injured Liu Sheng, did not stop. He swung the iron rod horizontally.

Liu Sheng dodged hastily, flipping and swinging the hilt of the sword at Lu Yin. Lu Yin deflected the hilt with the iron rod, the force of the blow creating a small crack in the ground.

"Stop staring and attack! Kill him!" Liu Sheng roared, glaring at Zhang Tong and the others.

Zhang Tong and the others did not hesitate, drawing various weapons and attacking Lu Yin.

Lu Yin's gaze was cold. He flipped the iron rod, and with a powerful kick, a visible shockwave shattered the ground. His body leaped over ten meters, the iron rod slicing horizontally. In an instant, Zhang Tong and the others looked down at their chests, blood dripping from their wounds. Soon, they lost consciousness and fell to the ground, dead.

At that moment, Lu Yin's heart was as hard as iron. This was the worst of times, with no constraints, but it was also the best of times, where evil could be eliminated.

Liu Sheng stared at Lu Yin in shock, "How is this possible? You, you, you are a ground-level strong man, definitely a ground-level strong man. A human-level strong man can't be this powerful."

Lu Yin's gaze was cold.

Liu Sheng trembled, kneeling on the ground, "Lu Yin, no, Young Master Lu, spare me. Please spare me. I can be your dog, I can kill for you, I can find women for you. I can do anything you want."

Lu Yin looked up at the sky.

Liu Sheng's eyes were filled with malice. He suddenly drew a knife from his pocket and stabbed at Lu Yin. The knife easily pierced Lu Yin, but the Lu Yin in front of him gradually faded, revealing that it was just an afterimage.

Liu Sheng's pupils contracted, staring in disbelief. What was this?

"This is called the 'Floating Body Step,' a combat technique from the stars," Lu Yin said indifferently. The iron rod swept across, and Liu Sheng's head fell, his body collapsing to the ground, dead.

Lu Yin sighed, put away the iron rod, and continued to look up at the sky, "I am just a guest, yet I have taken over."

Soon, Lu Yin took the energy crystals from Liu Sheng and the others, bringing them close to the ring on his hand. Suddenly, the energy crystals disappeared, as if they had never existed.

This was the Condensing Air Ring, a precious ring that could store items, just like the combat technique, it came from the stars.

The disappearance of Zhang Tong and the others went unnoticed, but Liu Sheng was different. As a leader, his disappearance caught the attention of the other leaders.

However, because Liu Sheng had hidden his actions to plot against Lu Yin's method of evolution, no one came to trouble Lu Yin, and it was considered Liu Sheng's own fault.

The next noon, the tens of thousands of people in the group looked up at the distant sky. They had just received news that the Holy Executioner Zhou Shan was arriving.

Soon, a black dot appeared in the sky, and then a man, tall and muscular, over two meters tall, with short hair and a three-meter-long giant axe in his hand, appeared, standing majestically in the air, exuding a powerful aura.

Everyone stared in amazement. Humans could really fly? This was a flying-level strong man, one of the Seven Saints of China.

With a loud boom, Zhou Shan said nothing, lifting his hand and pressing down. The shockwave raised dust, making the tens of thousands of people unable to open their eyes.

All the evolutionists looked at the front with intense admiration. This was a heaven-level strong man, with the power to destroy mountains and rivers.

From the ground, huge vines emerged, lashing out at Zhou Shan.

Zhou Shan grunted, the sound echoing in everyone's ears. He raised the giant axe high, and the air behind him rippled, forming transparent wings. "Storm Slash!" he shouted, his body rolling down with the axe, striking the vines.

A deafening boom echoed, and a massive crack spread out in all directions. Dust and debris flew, and shockwaves scattered. Fortunately, the evolutionist leaders were there to protect the survivors, or the shockwaves alone would have caused significant casualties.

Lu Yin stared intently at the front. Yesterday, they had guessed the vines were ground-level, but only he could sense that the vines were definitely heaven-level, which was why Zhou Shan used his full strength.

The wind blew, and when the dust settled, everyone saw Zhou Shan standing majestically with his giant axe, while the vines were completely shattered, leaving a large pit filled with green liquid.

The tens of thousands of people looked up at Zhou Shan in reverence, cheering.

Zhou Shan, carrying the giant axe, flew up and shouted, "Let's go back to Jinling; it's safe there."

"Thank you, Holy Executioner."

"Long live the Holy Executioner."

"Holy Executioner."

...

The tens of thousands of people cheered Zhou Shan's name. In this apocalyptic era, heroes were desperately needed, and Zhou Shan was a hero, one of the Seven Saints.

Lu Yin gripped the iron rod. His current strength was not yet at the heaven level. As Liu Sheng had said, he had not absorbed any energy crystals. He was on a different path of evolution, the true path of evolution from the stars. Thinking of this, Lu Yin looked up, "It should be coming soon, it should be coming soon."

With Zhou Shan's protection, the group moved forward smoothly. There were definitely stronger creatures in the world than Zhou Shan, but they were extremely rare and almost never encountered.

A day later, the tens of thousands of people arrived in Jinling. At that moment, many people put down their burdens and burst into tears.

Jinling was under martial law, surrounded by a massive earth wall. Evolutionists on the wall silently watched as the tens of thousands of survivors entered, their eyes filled with sorrow. The group had lost at least one-tenth of its population from the start to the end, having walked out of despair.

Lu Yin had visited Jinling in peacetime. Back then, Jinling was beautiful, with ancient trees lining the streets. Now, Jinling had shrunk significantly, the outer areas abandoned, and countless wandering zombies filled the outer city. Without Zhou Shan's path, they would have had to fight a bloody battle to enter the Jinling settlement.

The survivors were arranged by some people, while the evolutionists were handled by another group.

This group had over five hundred evolutionists, a very small number compared to the tens of thousands of survivors, meaning one evolutionist protected nearly a hundred people. This ratio was quite rare and also proved that mutated creatures were hard to kill.

Unfortunately, zombies did not have energy crystals, otherwise, the number of evolutionists would have been much higher.

The Execution Camp, created and managed by the Holy Executioner Zhou Shan, was where all evolutionists in the Jinling settlement, whether they joined or not, had to register and test their combat strength and physical condition. Lu Yin and the others were taken to the Execution Camp.

The Execution Camp was not just a camp but a vast area, occupying the Zhongshan Mountain in Jinling. According to legend, when it was first created, Jinling was filled with zombies and mutated beasts. Zhou Shan led all the evolutionists and spent a month taking over Zhongshan Mountain, which was easier because it was a tourist area with fewer wild mutated beasts.

The Execution Camp, centered on Zhongshan Mountain, gradually helped the survivors take over the Jinling settlement, becoming one of the largest survivor settlements in the eastern region of China.

The Zhongshan Mountain Execution Camp was solemn and dignified. The surrounding evolutionists looked enviously at the uniformed soldiers of the Execution Camp, knowing that they would be here in the future.

"It's only been half a year, and the Holy Executioner has created such a vast organization. It's truly incredible," someone remarked.

Beside him, someone immediately agreed, "When the apocalypse came, many people were still hiding, but the Holy Executioner had already created the Execution Camp. He will definitely dominate China in the future."

Many people agreed with this statement.

Lu Yin walked among the evolutionists, looking at the evolutionist soldiers passing by, his eyes flashing. These soldiers were true soldiers.

In theory, in the apocalypse, no matter how charismatic a person was, it would be impossible to create such an organization, and it would be even more impossible for Zhou Shan. But the Execution Camp existed, and the only reason was that the people here were true soldiers, and Zhou Shan represented the state.

China did not collapse due to the apocalypse but stabilized in a different way. Zhou Shan was from the military, and it was even possible that all seven saints were, otherwise, it would be impossible to reach the heaven level in just half a year.

It was fortunate that the apocalypse did not cause a complete collapse of communication; otherwise, even the state would not have been able to stabilize the situation in such a short time.
