Lu Yin watched the scene, casually ordered two dishes, and thought to himself that for a restaurant to still be operating in such times, it must have a significant background. At the very least, no one dared to cause trouble, and the camp soldiers patrolled the entrance every two minutes, clearly indicating special attention.
"Here are your dishes, please enjoy," the waiter said, placing three dishes in front of Lu Yin and leaving without a backward glance.
Lu Yin took a bite, frowned, and found it not very tasty. However, compared to rat meat, the mutated dog meat was much better. He took out a map and started eating while looking at it.
After a short while, a dozen figures entered the restaurant. The restaurant owner's eyes lit up at the sight of them. "Young Master Kang, please come in, Young Master Kang. It's raining so heavily outside, what would you like to eat? We can send it to you."
The man called Young Master Kang grunted and sat at a table not far from Lu Yin. He glanced at Lu Yin, not paying much attention, and tapped the table. "Bring him over."
With a thud, a figure was thrown to the ground, breaking a chair. The man trembled and looked up at Young Master Kang. "I'm sorry, Young Master Kang, I didn't know it was yours. If I had known, I wouldn't have dared to steal it, even with ten lives. I'm sorry, Young Master Kang, please spare me this once."
Young Master Kang sneered. "Spare you? How can I lead my men then? Do you know that the item was a gift for my uncle? You've lost one, so you have two choices: either thirty energy crystals or death. Choose one."
The man looked desperate. "Young Master Kang, I really didn't know it was yours. Please spare me. I'll be your dog, just let me go."
Young Master Kang slammed his hand on the table, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at the man's head. "No crystals, then goodbye."
The man's eyes widened in despair and he shouted, suddenly noticing Lu Yin not far away. He pointed at him. "Him, him, I gave it to him."
Everyone turned to look at Lu Yin.
Lu Yin put down his water cup and didn't say a word. He had seen the man who had been beaten up as soon as he entered. It was the shifty-eyed evolved human who had sold him the map. At the time, he had bought the map for three crystals, and the man had given him a virility pill. He had found it strange then, as virility pills were very expensive. Now it was clear that the man had stolen it, and it belonged to Young Master Kang.
Young Master Kang stared at Lu Yin for a moment, then kicked the shifty-eyed evolved human. "Xu San, you dare to play me? You think you can fool me with just anyone?"
Xu San quickly shouted, "Really, it's him. He bought a map from me. Look, the map on the table is the one I sold him. There's a mark in the bottom right corner."
Young Master Kang and his men looked over.
Lu Yin glanced at the map and indeed saw the mark.
Young Master Kang and his men dragged Xu San over. "Brother, you took what you shouldn't have. Shouldn't you give it back?"
"Get lost," Lu Yin replied coolly.
Young Master Kang's face changed, and the dozen evolved humans around him became furious. "What a big attitude. Do you know what Young Master Kang represents in the Jinling gathering place? You've got some nerve, kid."
As he spoke, someone moved to grab Lu Yin.
Lu Yin casually shot a chopstick, which pierced through several evolved humans' arms and pinned them to the wall, causing the wall to crack. Blood splattered on the table, and screams of pain echoed.
Young Master Kang's face turned pale, and he quickly stepped back, as did the other evolved humans.
The restaurant owner was shocked and immediately fled.
Young Master Kang pointed his gun at Lu Yin. "My uncle is a camp commander. Don't mess around. Hand over the item, and we can talk."
"Throw it away," Lu Yin said casually.
Young Master Kang clearly didn't believe him. "Say that again. Hand over the item, or I'll show you what despair means. A D-rank strongman isn't someone you can offend."
Lu Yin suddenly became curious and looked at Young Master Kang. "If your uncle is a D-rank strongman, why does he need a virility pill?"
Young Master Kang's face twitched in anger. "You dare to defame my uncle. You're asking for it. Old Five, contact my uncle immediately." He wasn't stupid and knew that firearms wouldn't work against Lu Yin.
Lu Yin's sharp gaze swept over the beaten Xu San. He had been wrong; Young Master Kang wasn't after the virility pill but something else. This guy had shifted the blame, and now he was the one in trouble.
Xu San, lying on the ground, immediately lowered his head when he saw Lu Yin's gaze, not daring to look up.
Lu Yin smiled, not caring. Whether he took the blame or not didn't matter to him. What he was curious about was what could make a camp commander so concerned. Earth had undergone evolution, producing many valuable things, which was one reason many students from interstellar academies came to train. Perhaps, this camp commander had indeed obtained something.
A middle-aged man soon entered the restaurant, waved to disperse all the camp soldiers, and looked around.
"Uncle, you're here," Young Master Kang said, delighted, raising his gun higher.
Lu Yin recognized him; it was one of the camp commanders defeated by Zhao Yu, apparently named Kang Dafeng.
Kang Dafeng nodded at Young Master Kang. "Did you find the item?"
Young Master Kang replied harshly, "I found it. That kid took it," pointing at Lu Yin.
Kang Dafeng followed Young Master Kang's gaze and saw Lu Yin. His face changed dramatically. They had just met a short while ago, and he still remembered the power of Snow Maiden Zhao Yu. However, Zhao Yu had been helpless against Lu Yin, which made Kang Dafeng very envious. He had been thinking about how to learn a few moves from Lu Yin, but he didn't expect to run into him so soon.
"Ah, it's Brother Lu," Kang Dafeng said, walking up to Lu Yin with a smile.
Lu Yin smiled back at Kang Dafeng. "What a coincidence, Brother Kang, are you here for a meal?"
Kang Dafeng replied, "This restaurant is run by Brother Li. We often come here to gather. I apologize for today's incident. I hope Brother Lu won't blame my nephew. He's young and doesn't know any better."
Everyone watched this scene in shock. What was this? Had they run into a hard case?
Lu Yin smiled. "No problem, just a joke."
Kang Dafeng immediately glared at Young Master Kang. "Come and apologize to Brother Lu."
Young Master Kang, not being stupid, quickly put on a smile, bowed deeply, and said with great respect, "I failed to recognize your greatness. Please don't hold it against me, Commander Lu."
Lu Yin waved his hand. "It's fine."
Kang Dafeng waved for Young Master Kang and the others to leave, then spoke a few more words to Lu Yin before departing. This wasn't the time for a long conversation, but before leaving, he left Xu San with Lu Yin.
After Kang Dafeng and the others left, the restaurant owner personally refilled Lu Yin's water and served him a few exquisite dishes, saying they were complimentary.
Outside the restaurant, Young Master Kang was puzzled. "Uncle, why were you so polite to that person? Is he also a camp commander?"
Kang Dafeng whispered, "Remember, be polite to him in the future. This person is very strong."
"But Uncle, you're also a camp commander. How strong can he be?" Young Master Kang muttered.
Kang Dafeng glared at him. "Shut up. Let me tell you, this person is several times stronger than me. In Jinling, apart from the Holy Punisher, no one can definitely win against him. Even the strongest camp commander, Li Hongliang, might not be his match."
Young Master Kang's mouth dropped open, and he looked back at the restaurant in shock before quickly running away. He knew he had narrowly escaped death today.
Inside the restaurant, Lu Yin stared coldly at Xu San. "You've got some nerve, daring to frame me."
Xu San felt very unlucky. Not only had he stolen from Young Master Kang, but he had also framed someone even more powerful, someone even a camp commander treated with respect. He felt he was finished, abandoned by fate.
"What does Kang Dafeng want?" Lu Yin asked casually.
"A red crystal, I sold it," Xu San said bitterly, collapsing on the ground.
Lu Yin's eyes flashed. "A red crystal? Is it a bit warm?"
Xu San was surprised. "How did you know?"
Lu Yin knew what it was. A flame crystal, a crystal that seals flame energy. Touching it can produce flames, and many flame combat techniques require it. Its effect is similar to Zhao Yu's Ice Palm, an external aid for combat techniques. This item is hard currency in the universe and even more precious on Earth. No wonder Kang Dafeng was so anxious.
"Do you know where it comes from?" Lu Yin asked.
Xu San shook his head. "I don't know."
Lu Yin laughed. "So, you framed me, gave me an enemy, and in the end, I get nothing? Is that what you mean?"
Xu San's face turned ashen, and he could only beg for forgiveness in terror. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."
Lu Yin played with a chopstick. "Do you think this chopstick can pierce your throat? Let's try it."
Xu San's eyes filled with fear. He hadn't forgotten the scene where the evolved humans' arms were pierced. He quickly begged for mercy, his head swelling from the repeated bowing.
Lu Yin shook his head. He was just scaring him. Sometimes, in the apocalypse, being too tense isn't good. He took a sip of water and decided to leave.
