"Again, it's you two?" The on-duty doctor’s face turned green when he saw Wang Ge and Curly. Coincidentally, it was the same person again.

"This time, it's not me." Wang Ge awkwardly put Curly down. As a patient, seeing the doctor’s face turn green made him feel very strange.

"Oh..." The doctor visibly relaxed. Wang Ge placed Curly on the operating table and then stepped out to wait.

There were no tearful, cliché scenes like in regular hospitals. Everyone was a man, and they were all involved in underground boxing. Surgery was as common as a daily meal. With modern medical advancements, there was no pain and no side effects. You could sleep through the surgery, wake up, get out of bed, and walk away without any issues.

Standing in the corridor outside, Wang Ge waited silently. There were hardly any people around the medical room early in the morning. The empty and dim environment made Wang Ge feel very depressed.

But he was not lost. He knew what he had to do and how to do it.

When Curly’s surgery was over and he was immersed in the gene tank, Wang Ge went in. He looked at Curly, who was sleeping in the gene tank, and saw that his broken leg had been fully restored. This made Wang Ge feel much more at ease.

"Don’t worry, the gene tank hasn’t malfunctioned since then." The on-duty doctor, clearly misunderstanding, came over to Wang Ge and said, "You were just unlucky that time, and I was unlucky too..."

Wang Ge’s lips curled into a forced smile. Was this guy joking around?

"Let’s go, settle the bill." Wang Ge said to the on-duty doctor, who then took him to settle the bill.

Curly had a broken leg and a cracked shoulder bone, and the total medical expenses came to 20,000 sun coins.

After settling the bill, Wang Ge waited for Curly to wake up, and then the two of them left the medical room. The on-duty doctor, still worried, checked the gene tank again, and only after confirming there were no further issues did he feel relieved. The poor guy had developed a psychological shadow.

Walking out of Black City under the overcast sky, Curly stretched a big yawn. Looking at the desolate ruins around him, he put his arm around Wang Ge’s shoulder and said seriously, "Big Wang, if you really want to do it, make sure to bring me along."

"Of course, but not so soon. Don’t worry, you won’t be left out." Wang Ge patted Curly’s hand. When they were young, their relationship was like this. Whatever they did, Wang Ge planned and executed, and Curly never wanted to be left behind.

As for the difficulty of the task and the consequences, Curly never thought about them. He trusted Wang Ge more than he trusted himself.

When they were young, Wang Ge believed in avenging wrongs without delay. But as he grew older, Wang Ge realized that many things couldn’t be done on a whim, especially when he had responsibilities and people to care for.

No matter what, he had to think about his sister first.

He was walking down a darker path, but it was for his sister to live in the sunlight.

So, dealing with Brother Water was inevitable, but not now when they were so weak.

After parting ways with Curly, Wang Ge put on his bio-backpack and rode his old motorcycle to catch a black car. Although a lot had happened today, it was still morning, and there was no boxing match tonight, so he had plenty of time to make a trip to Sifeng Mountain.

After taking the black car and then riding his motorcycle to the foot of Sifeng Mountain, he hid the motorcycle as usual and walked up the mountain.

Before climbing the mountain, Wang Ge changed his equipment. Compared to the last time when he only brought a single fire gun, this time it was a significant upgrade.

He put on an air soft armor vest, and the tungsten dagger had several types of straps. Wang Ge chose to strap it to his left rib area. Although it wasn’t as convenient to draw as from his leg, it could be hidden under his bulky coat, making it invisible to others.

Walking alone in the wilderness, if the air soft armor and tungsten dagger were exposed, he might become a target for unscrupulous poachers.

Finally, he held the fire gun loaded with ammunition and climbed Sifeng Mountain. He didn’t take a mission first, planning to take whatever he could get. If there was a mission, that would be great; if not, he would take the eggs and sell them in the black market.

He first went to the place where he killed the insect dog. Last time, due to lack of experience, after killing the insect dog, he had destroyed its shell and roasted the meat, thinking the corpse had no value.

But after the innkeeper’s advice, Wang Ge learned that the insect dog still had value, specifically its teeth. Each tooth could be exchanged for 20 sun coins, and this insect dog had at least 50 to 60 teeth, which could fetch over 1,000 sun coins.

Furthermore, Wang Ge later researched the insect dog and found that adult insect dogs often lived in monogamous pairs.

If the adult insect dog he killed had a mate, there should be another lone insect dog nearby, which would be an excellent target. If it also had a litter of puppies, today’s trip would be worthwhile.

Following the route he remembered, Wang Ge pushed through the underbrush and soon arrived at the place where he had killed the insect dog.

Although it had been a day, Wang Ge wasn’t worried. He had removed and roasted the edible meat from the insect dog’s corpse, so other mutated insects or beasts would eat the meat but not the shell or teeth.

However, the corpse would likely have been moved, so Wang Ge was prepared to track it down. To his relief, when he arrived, he found that although the meat had been eaten, the insect dog’s shell was still in place, untouched.

This made things easier. Wang Ge happily squatted down, took out a copper coin from his pocket, and used it to pry out a tooth. He placed the square hole of the coin over a canine tooth and, with a reverse force, easily pried it out.

This was a method allegedly used by Taoist priests to pry out zombie fangs, though its authenticity was unknown. Now, it was widely used to extract insect beast teeth, and it worked very well.

After prying out a few teeth, Wang Ge suddenly felt a sense of danger approaching, making his spine chill.

His intuition had never failed him, so without hesitation, he rolled to the side.

Sure enough, as he rolled, he felt a strong, foul wind pass by. He quickly turned his head and saw a large insect dog, the size of a calf, pouncing at him.

The insect dog had a row of swollen teats hanging from its belly, indicating it was a recently lactating female.

Although it was a female, it was smaller than a male but no less fierce. What surprised Wang Ge even more was that it had set an ambush!

No wonder the male insect dog’s shell was still in place; the female must have used it as a lure!

It was unclear who had eaten the male insect dog’s meat, but it was likely the female.

Knowing how to set an ambush, this female insect dog’s intelligence was on par with a domestic dog!

Eating her own mate’s flesh, this female insect dog’s cruelty was astounding.

Encountering such a smart and ruthless creature for the first time, Wang Ge didn’t hesitate and fired a shot at the female insect dog, sending a cloud of iron sand toward her.

The insect dog was indeed hit by the iron sand and fell to the side. However, it quickly got up and charged at Wang Ge again, still shedding debris as it ran.

What was going on? Wang Ge was stunned. As he dodged, he carefully observed the insect dog and realized that the female had a thick layer of mud armor covering her shell!

This was similar to how rhinos and hippos roll in mud to create a protective layer.

It seemed the female had noticed the iron sand on the male insect dog and had deliberately "worn" this mud armor, enhancing her defenses just like Wang Ge had done!

Dogs were indeed very intelligent animals. Even as insect dogs, their intelligence hadn’t diminished; they had become even more cunning!

This shot had stripped off half of the insect dog’s mud armor, revealing its shell. However, Wang Ge had planned to use three shots to break through the armor, and he had already used one. He was unsure if the remaining two shots would be enough.

Wang Ge gritted his teeth. Before the insect dog pounced, he crouched down, held the fire gun firmly with both hands, and waited for the right moment.

The last encounter with the insect dog had been too chaotic. It was Wang Ge’s first time facing an insect beast, and he had no combat experience, leading to a dangerous situation.

After returning, Wang Ge had repeatedly reviewed and analyzed his battle with the insect dog, devising some countermeasures.

Now, he was much calmer, his eyes fixed on the direction from which the insect dog was charging. Even when the insect dog was only two meters away, he remained steady.

As the insect dog opened its four-jawed mouth to bite Wang Ge, he suddenly thrust the fire gun forward, directly into the insect dog’s mouth!

"Bang, bang—"

Wang Ge pulled the trigger repeatedly, sending two clouds of iron sand into the insect dog’s mouth.

"Spurt—"

The insect dog’s eyes burst out, nearly hitting Wang Ge. Blood spurted from its eyes, nose, and ears!

Damn... The force of the insect dog’s pounce knocked Wang Ge to the ground. He quickly curled his legs and kicked the insect dog’s belly with all his strength, like a rabbit kicking an eagle.

The insect dog was kicked flying, and Wang Ge, fearing it wasn’t dead, quickly got up, drew the tungsten dagger from his rib area, and lunged to stab the insect dog’s belly.

The insect dog convulsed, but it was still not dead. Wang Ge stabbed it in the teats, a vulnerable spot. Before pregnancy, the teats were inside the shell, but after giving birth, they protruded, leaving the belly shell open.

Wang Ge stabbed in and then sliced open the belly.

The tungsten dagger was truly worth its price. The teats were still connected by the shell, but the tungsten dagger sliced through from start to finish without hesitation, proving its exceptional sharpness.
