"Didn't you die?" Grosso's expression was cold, his scarred face twitching uncontrollably. To have survived such a perilous situation, it had to be said, his life was indeed tough.
"Of course, I haven't thanked you for your gift yet."
Dika took his last breath, the blood from his wounds staining his entire body red.
Tang Fang threw the corpse aside like trash and slowly walked towards Aros and the woman.
Aros' eyes flashed with a sharp light, then he returned to his usual lazy demeanor. The woman, however, stared in surprise at the two alien life forms behind him, unable to understand what was happening.
"Open fire, kill him!" Grosso roared, that yellow-skinned boy, that bastard, actually dared to challenge him.
Rage spread across his face, the burn scars on his face brewing a storm of fury.
Grosso had been in the military for ten years, his entire body exuding a sense of iron discipline and dominance. A mere kid, who hadn't even grown his wisdom teeth, dared to ignore his presence and walk into the battlefield so boldly.
Anyone who challenged him would pay the price, just like the woman who refused to sleep with him. She, her children, her subordinates, and the entire space station would all die for his lost love.
The gunfire lit up, a row of bullets whistling out.
Aros remained expressionless, the woman frowned but said nothing.
"Zzz..."
The bullets hit the puppy, eliciting a mournful cry.
Grosso was stunned; the scene before him only fueled his ferocity. As he continued to spray bullets, he reached down and pulled out a high-explosive grenade. If bullets couldn't kill him, then he would blow him up.
However, just as he pried open the top and was about to press the detonator, a sharp shadow caught his peripheral vision.
"Bang."
A loud explosion shattered the rock cover in front of him. Then, he felt a chill in his lower body, and something like a scorpion's tail pierced a large hole in his abdomen, lifting his body into the air.
Grosso clutched the strange creature that had pierced his body, spewing blood in large gulps.
What is this? What is this?
The four people around him were dumbfounded, their eyes fixed on Grosso, who swung like a kite, cold sweat pouring down their faces.
"What is that thing? Damn it, what is that thing!" a lean man shouted, as if his roar could dispel his fear.
"I don't want to die, I don't want to die, I'm not ready to die." Another man crawled backward, his face covered in Grosso's blood.
The other two didn't speak, but their trembling bodies betrayed their fear.
In the end, Grosso died. As he took his last breath, the creature that had pierced his body retracted, and his massive body fell from several meters high, splattering blood on the rocks.
It was too terrifying! Too terrifying! These prisoners had all killed before, had all been on the battlefield, and had seen their fair share of blood and gore, but at this moment, they could only cower behind the cover, trembling.
Human fear comes from the unknown. This terrifying creature, they had never even heard of it, let alone seen it.
Fight back? Avenge Grosso? Don't be ridiculous, that would be suicide!
"Run, split up and run. There are so many forks in the road, find a cave and maybe you can save your life."
The four of them had the same thought, exchanged glances, and scrambled to their feet, scattering in different directions.
Unfortunately, they overestimated their abilities. Aros had somehow circled around, and with a flash of gunfire, the lean man screamed and fell to the ground, twitching a few times before lying still.
The woman was even more ruthless. As one of the enemies turned around, she leaped out from the cover's shadow, her dagger slicing through the opponent's throat from behind.
The other two met the same fate, one dying from the puppy's claws, the other from the spine crawler's tail spike.
The battle was over in just a few breaths. Grosso and his seven companions all died on the spot.
Tang Fang took a deep breath, recalled the spine crawler, and kept the two puppies by his side.
After looting the equipment and food from the eight dead men, Aros and the woman came to Tang Fang's side.
"How can they obey you?" the woman couldn't help but ask.
Tang Fang didn't answer, stood up, adjusted his gun, and walked towards the entrance of the nearby cave.
The woman frowned, wanting to ask more, but Aros pulled her back, "You have your secrets, I have mine, and he definitely has things he doesn't want to say."
Tang Fang didn't pay attention to their conversation. From their willingness to kill three people for him, he could see that they were genuinely loyal to him.
If they could kill three people for him, he could kill ten, a hundred for them! How one treats others is how they will be treated, that was Tang Fang's principle.
As for his secrets, he wasn't worried that they would tell others. First, a bond of trust had been established among the three of them. Second, even if they did tell, who would believe a few murderers? The empire wouldn't believe their wild claims, that would be a joke!
Next, he focused all his attention on the system interface. After collecting the life energy from the rock worms and the eight men, the crystal count reached nearly two hundred.
Hesitating for a moment, he selected one of the three larvae next to the hatchery and pressed the queen's production button.
The queen's health was several times that of a puppy, capable of shooting toxic spines, attacking both ground and air targets, and had the ability to hatch larvae, create creep tumors, and feed. Compared to the spine crawler, it might be slightly weaker in attack, but its overall capabilities were extremely strong.
When the fearsome queen broke out of its shell and stood on the creep, waiting for orders, Tang Fang almost couldn't help but laugh. As the swarm slowly grew, his means of survival also increased.
To think, it was all thanks to Wei Haitao. If not for his reckless actions, how could he have collected so much life energy, allowing the swarm to grow and strengthen?
The mission was only halfway through, and he had already gained so much. If he could collect a few hundred more points of life energy, he could create an army of puppies. With the queen and the spine crawler, he wouldn't fear even a whole company, let alone just one Wei Haitao.
Fifteen minutes passed, then thirty minutes. The three of them slowly descended through the caves around the large cavern, encountering a few rock worms along the way, but they were easily dealt with by the three of them and the two puppies. They arrived at the bottom of the large cavern without incident.
The task objective marked on the navigation device was not far away, just a few hundred meters more. Aros' expression remained calm, the woman showed a hint of joy, and Tang Fang's smile almost reached his ears.
During this time, the Zerg base had gained a few more worker drones, eight puppies, plus the two he had, making a total of ten, along with one spine crawler and one queen.
He still had 94 crystals, but he was capped on population!
