Chapter 38

The Completion of Myth

The first trial was 10,000 skeletal soldiers of my level.

Next, 10,000 skeletal soldiers with the 'Void' hidden attribute appeared.

'This is related to my racial value.'

This couldn't be a coincidence.

There must be a deep connection between the 'racial value' I saw when I entered and the trials.

Then, what will the next trial be?

'Giants, Druids, Celestials.'

Perhaps the first trial was a simple one involving 'Corpse Crows.'

Since the confrontation with corpses is related to Corpse Crows.

So, there are three left.

Giants (10), Druids (10), Celestials (20).

If the difficulty increases according to the numbers attached to the racial values, then Giants and Druids can be considered on the same level as Void.

With some strategy, it should be possible to overcome them.

Though the difficulty increases exponentially, it's not entirely impossible.

'The problem is the Celestials.'

Celestials alone are worth 20 points.

What exactly are Celestials?

Aren't they related to the divine and demonic races of the heavens and hells?

However, I don't think the racial values of the divine and demonic races are higher than those of Giants.

Giants are a great race that once protected the goddess.

According to mythology, some Giants had combat power on par with gods.

'My assumptions might be completely off.'

So, 'Celestials' could be something entirely different from what I expect.

I need to consider the possibility that they have no relation to the heavens or hells.

'Anyway, I'll know when I face the trial.'

The trials continuously add racial characteristics.

By the time I reach the Celestial trial, I should have a clearer picture.

Then, I'll understand what 'Celestials' are.

But to do that, I need to overcome the two preceding trials first.

Giants, Druids.

'Void added a light attribute to the skeletal soldiers. Giants' anti-magic resistance will increase their magic resistance, and Druids will likely add something related to spirits.'

Carefully.

Before stepping into the next trial, I think.

I also consider how to deal with the skeletal soldiers with added abilities.

I recheck my own changed abilities.

I need to calculate and move, considering everything.

<The level of 'Skeletal Soldiers' matches the challenger's level.>

<The 'Skeletal Soldiers' gain the opposing attribute due to 'Void.'>

<The 'Skeletal Soldiers' gain the characteristics of 'Giants.'>

After finishing my preparations, I challenged the next trial.

Stepping through the newly created warp, the landscape before me wasn't much different from what I had seen before.

Barren land.

Cliffs scattered here and there.

And.

"......"

10,000 skeletal soldiers.

But my frown didn't ease as I looked at them.

"......This is the worst, caw."

The skeletal soldiers were large.

As large as Giants.

Instead of just adding Giants' anti-magic resistance, they were simply made into Giants.

......It seems I'm in trouble.

*

"......"

Isaac was staring blankly at the tower.

An event beyond comprehension.

An unfathomable mystery that made him give up on thinking.

And Isaac wasn't the only one reacting this way.

Monsters from Kramdel began to gather around the tower.

The light waves emitted by the Tower of Mystery grew stronger, making the phenomenon visible across all of Kramdel.

The Tower of Mystery is a place that every being in Kramdel visits at least once.

However, the tower had never shown such a phenomenon before.

Many monsters gathered out of curiosity and began to pay attention to the tower's changes.

"The rings of light......"

"Who is taking the tower's trial?"

"How great must they be?"

At the top of the tower.

At the endless summit of the tower, a circular golden ring appeared.

The light ring, which started as one, soon became two.

The two rings emitted even more light, mesmerizing the monsters.

"......This is the final trial of the tower, which only the Transcendent can receive."

At that moment,

A monster approached and spoke loudly for everyone to hear.

With each step, a path formed.

A phenomenon like the parting of the Red Sea occurred near the Tower of Mystery.

A fantastical creature, Qiongqi, with the appearance of a cow but the quills of a porcupine.

A fearsome being with a tiger-like face, hook-shaped claws, and wings on its forelimbs.

Even other monsters feared Qiongqi, who was looking at the tower with tension.

"Transcendent? Like Mythical or Fantastical?"

"What is that?"

But the monsters, ignorant of Transcendents, all tilted their heads.

The concept of Transcendents was unfamiliar to them.

"A being that transcends the standards of a race. In Kramdel, only the White King has ever faced this trial."

"......!!!"

"Then, does this mean someone is taking the trial that the White King once took?"

"Such a being is inside the tower?"

Everyone was shocked and turned their gaze back to the tower.

But they couldn't believe it.

Who is the White King?

The god of the north.

The guardian and absolute ruler of Kramdel.

No human, not even the rulers of the abyss or the celestials, can set foot in the north as long as the White King exists.

No mythical or fantastical creature can stand before the White King.

Does this mean that someone of the same caliber as the White King is inside the tower?

Gulp!

'That can't be......'

'Even if it's true, it's a big deal.'

Everyone watching the tower tensed up.

Kramdel is called a paradise for monsters because of the White King. No one dares to cause trouble in front of the White King.

But a being of the same caliber as the White King is taking the trial inside the tower.

What if that being comes out of the tower?

Kramdel's peace might be shattered.

Even if not, it's easy to infer that the delicate balance in Kramdel will be disrupted.

'The White King created three rings in the Mythical trial.'

Qiongqi looked at the top of the tower.

The circular golden rings surrounding the tower indicate the 'completion of Mythical.'

But even the great White King only created three rings before leaving the tower.

No one has opened the Mythical Gate in the Tower of Mystery since then, so this phenomenon is unfamiliar to the monsters here.

'Two.'

And now, the Tower of Mystery is surrounded by two rings.

The completion of Mythical hasn't reached the White King's level yet.

But even two rings are enough to cause shock. It proves that the trial, which only Transcendents can take, has been cleared in two stages.

Now, as the monsters come out of the tower one by one, it will be clear who took the Mythical trial.

"Three, three!"

"The rings have increased to three!"

......But it's not over yet.

'Three rings?'

Qiongqi's eyes widened. The rings had indeed increased to three.

This means the three-stage trial, on par with the White King, has been cleared.

It's impossible. An event that shouldn't happen, an event that shouldn't even be possible, has occurred.

Sssss!

At that moment,

"Heavens above!"

"Medusa's eyes......!"

"Whew!"

A giant eye of Medusa appeared in the sky, clearly visible.

The fact that it was not hidden means Medusa has gathered all her 'eyes' here.

In other words, she, who had not shown her face for years, has taken an unprecedented interest.

She couldn't help but be interested the moment the three rings appeared.

One of the four monsters closest to the White King.

One of the actual rulers of Kramdel.

It's unprecedented for her to show such interest in something!

"What's happening inside the tower?"

"Who is it?"

"Definitely the strongest, the worst being."

"Undoubtedly a creature so fearsome that it transcends all races."

"Hmm. It must be an overwhelmingly terrifying monster."

All the monsters speculated and chattered about the being taking the tower's trial.

But they can't even imagine.

What kind of monstrous being is taking the trial in that tower.

How fearsome and powerful must it be for even Medusa and Qiongqi to show such interest......

*

Boom!

Rumble!

Bang! Bang! Boom!

"......"

I watched the skeletal soldiers, as tall as 10 meters, fall like dominoes.

When they swung their arms and shot light arrows, it was an impossible situation.

But at some point, the giant skeletal soldiers began to fall one by one.

The first skeletal soldier fell, causing a chain reaction, and they tumbled and shattered like dominoes.

'Ah. Level.'

I finally realized.

The level of those giants was also '4'.

The stats to support their oversized bodies were far too low.

No matter how much they had the opposing attribute and a large body, their level was still 4.

Level 4 has its limits, no matter how strong.

Even if you max out strength, stamina, and magic, you can't exceed 40.

It was far from enough to maintain and move the giant bodies.

There was no way to withstand the falling giants in front.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Boom!

"......"

I watched the scene in a daze.

It was absurd, but no matter how I thought about it, it was still absurd.

'......Lucky.'

Unlike the first two trials, the third trial was free. It felt like a bonus stage.

Would the fourth and fifth trials be the same?

Anyway, the Giants' characteristics will be fully maintained.

With a level of 4, their bodies would be too heavy to handle.

The designer of the trials probably didn't expect someone like me to challenge it.

I didn't expect it either.

'Is it because I cleared it too easily that I won't get a reward?'

Honestly, I was a bit worried.

I didn't do anything.

A trial is a process where the challenger pushes their limits and breaks through them.

Since I didn't push or break anything, it's normal not to receive a trial reward.

《You have cleared the 'Racial Barrier (3)' trial.》

《As a reward, you can obtain the Transcendent Mythical Mystery 'Ancestral Giant.'》

《Do you wish to obtain it?》

《If you do not obtain it, you will move on to a higher trial.》

......At least it's fortunate.

It seems the trial is still considered cleared.

'After Ultimate comes Transcendent.'

What comes after Transcendent?

Now I'm curious about what will come next.

《You have refused to obtain the Mystery 'Ancestral Giant.'》

It's too far to turn back.

If I stop here, I won't be satisfied.

So, I'm determined to see it through.

The third trial was free, so only Druids and Celestials are left.

Especially with the mystery of Celestials exploding, I'm determined to see it through to the end.

《The challenger is challenging a higher trial.》

《You have achieved the achievement 'Challenger on the Brink of Completing Mythical.'》

《All the thrones in the Hall of the White King are shocked.》
