"Why is this happening... Why is this happening..."

Ye Yun wandered aimlessly on the street, completely unaware of his destination.

Bumped by a passerby, he almost fell and leaned against a lamppost for support.

Looking up at the sky in a daze, the blinding sunlight almost melted his eyes.

Though the sun was scorching, his heart was growing cold. Tears flowed down his cheeks, whether from the sunlight or from his confusion, he was unaware.

He felt like a person cursed by fate; otherwise, why would his life be so hard?

The first nine years of his life were probably the happiest of his life. His parents were still alive, and though they were poor, the family was content with having each other. But a fire destroyed the shoddy public housing, and with it, Ye Yun's parents and his childhood.

Ye Yun still remembered the words his father said as he desperately placed him on the iron railing that could only bear a weight of over forty kilograms.

"Son, live well!"

There were no grand words, no great hopes or aspirations, just the most basic and ordinary wish... to live.

But this goal, which ordinary people often took for granted, was almost a luxury for Ye Yun.

After his parents died, when all his relatives turned a cold shoulder, his father's sworn brother took Ye Yun in and brought him home.

Not long after, an earthquake destroyed countless families. When Ye Yun struggled out of the rubble, he saw his uncle, a man who had lost his wife and daughter, shedding tears.

This time, what was left was the mutual support of two men, both having lost their loved ones, like two stray dogs in the cold winter night, huddling together to comfort each other's physical and mental coldness.

Time passed, and just as the wounds were about to heal, the retaliation of a criminal gang almost killed his uncle, a police officer. At sixteen, Ye Yun, with three knife wounds, carried his uncle to the hospital, only to receive the news that his uncle had become a vegetative state.

Sitting in a daze on the hospital chair, watching the government take his uncle away for treatment in the name of caring for a hero, Ye Yun almost forgot his own wounds.

"Am I a harbinger of disaster? Am I not allowed to live in this world? Do all those close to me not deserve a good end...?"

Ye Yun asked himself.

From that day on, he lived alone in the city, like a rat in the sewers, living a humble and difficult life.

But even so, 'living' had become a joke.

A simple diagnosis of leukemia shattered Ye Yun's life...

Clutching the diagnosis tightly, Ye Yun raised his hand to shield his eyes from the sun and suddenly laughed.

Without any transition, the low chuckle turned into a loud laugh!

No longer silent, no longer lonely, no longer humble and silent, no longer isolated and withering like a fallen leaf.

The laughter was filled with madness and despair!

Since there was nothing to fear, there was no need to suppress!

He threw the paper ball into the sky and pointed at the sky, screaming with a torn heart, "If you don't allow me to live, why did you let me come into this world in the first place!? You old scoundrel, if my death is your wish, I will do my best to make your wish fail, no matter the cost!"

The passersby looked at this handsome, thin young man with surprise, and the tears of sorrow and pain made them swallow the word 'crazy'.

Their eyes, which were initially filled with surprise, turned to a hint of understanding and pity.

Ye Yun laughed like a madman, ignoring the gazes of the world, and stumbled into a nearby alley.

Shouting out grand words required no cost, but turning those words into real actions was incredibly difficult. Poor Ye Yun had no chance of surviving the leukemia, a disease that was as cliché as a TV drama.

The alley between two buildings was clean but dark, just like Ye Yun's confused heart, unable to see the way forward.

Walking to the middle of the alley, the fear of the disease returned, and the heavy fear, like a mountain, made Ye Yun feel a strong sense of nausea.

He leaned against the wall and vomited violently, tears and saliva falling to the ground.

Having not eaten for two days, what could he vomit?

Ye Yun leaned against the wall, dispirited, staring at the opposite wall.

His scattered pupils slowly focused.

He had walked through this alley dozens of times but had never noticed that there was a metal door on one side of the wall.

Looking up in surprise, the building where the metal door was located did not seem like it would have such a door.

Moreover... the metal door seemed to be emitting a strange sound, as if calling Ye Yun's name.

Ye Yun walked over inexplicably and touched the bronze-colored metal door with strange patterns.

The first touch was cold.

It was a bone-chilling cold that seemed to come from the depths of the earth, a cold that felt like an endless storm from the poles, sweeping over Ye Yun's body... It was not the hard cold caused by low temperatures, but the cold of countless ghosts howling, accompanied by the fierce cold wind that swept in when the gates of hell opened, making Ye Yun feel as if he were in a haunted cemetery!

But this cold quickly turned into a scorching heat!

The sudden change in temperature made Ye Yun's skin, which had just turned a deathly pale, turn a deep red like steamed meat.

The scorching heat, which felt like a volcanic eruption, made Ye Yun's skin break out in goosebumps, and he felt as if his soul were being ignited. This heat was not like the pure flames of a burning object but more like the heat generated on a battlefield, where the earth was struck by artillery and bullets, a heat that was a mix of the blood of soldiers and the indomitable spirit of the battlefield!

The two sensations appeared and disappeared suddenly, and Ye Yun trembled violently and took a half-step back.

His fingers were still fingers, and the metal door was still a metal door, but the sensation had left an indelible mark on his soul!

Ye Yun closed his eyes and shook his head hard, trying to clear the confusion and surprise in his mind, and looked at the door again.

His eyes narrowed sharply!

In just a few seconds, the metal door in front of him split into two doors!

One was green, and the other was red.

The green metal door emitted visible cold air, while the red door had visible steam rising from it.

The two doors looked similar, but upon closer inspection, they were different.

For example, the edge patterns were both engravings of Mauser P38 pistols and rifles, but on the red door, the weapons were orderly arranged, with the tips and muzzles pointing towards the door frame; on the green door, the weapons were chaotically arranged, with the tips and muzzles pointing in all directions.

For example, the central engravings were both skull shapes, but the skull on the red door had a more warrior-like appearance, and even from the simple outline, Ye Yun could see the indomitable, tenacious, and brave will of the person it represented; the skull on the green door was also vivid, but its twisted shape represented the evil, cunning, and vicious nature of the person it represented!

This strange scene did not make Ye Yun fear or retreat but rather aroused his curiosity.

At the same time, a mysterious voice seemed to be urging him in his mind: "Open the door, open the door, choose one door to open, and you will see a new world."

Ye Yun's eyes scanned the two doors, his mind wavering.

He had nothing to lose and nothing to fear, but he was unsure which door to choose.

"If I should open one door, which one should I choose?"

He asked himself.

Both doors symbolized the souls of the dead, but one represented the passionate spirits of heroes, and the other represented the sinister spirits of demons.

"If both doors lead to the path of hell... I won't let my humble soul crowd the space of the heroes."

The firefighter who saved him during the fire, his father's sworn brother, and his uncle, with whom he lived for seven years, were police officers.

If they died, they naturally represented the righteous spirits of heroes.

"This path after death, the limited space in hell, the place where souls can remain... let me fight for it with the treacherous and sinister souls!"

Ye Yun reached out, grabbed the handle of the green metal door, and pulled it open!

Darkness!

Behind the door was a darkness that seemed to suck in both the eyes and the soul!

It was like a black hole, almost drawing in all the surrounding light!

Ye Yun's eyes instantly became confused, and he felt as if his soul had left his body, watching his body reach into the darkness.

Then... he pulled out a greenish-gray metal badge.

A deafening sound, like a great bell, echoed in Ye Yun's ears: "Welcome to the Strongest Anti-Terrorism Game. Player Ye Yun, you have chosen the T team, becoming a terrorist with evil etched in your bones."

"What..." Ye Yun's soul returned to his body, and his eyes widened.

The two doors disappeared simultaneously, and a beam of light from the greenish-gray badge shot into Ye Yun's forehead, making his entire body stiff.

"Detected disease on the player. According to T14 rules, the game system will automatically remove it!"

"Removal successful. Player's body restored to a healthy state. Deducted 15,000 game points!"

"According to T19 rules, the player must restore the game points to a positive value within five regular missions, or be kicked out of the game!"

"According to T04 rules, the player has the right to ask the game system any questions, with a time limit of five minutes."

"Countdown begins."

After hearing the voice that echoed in his soul, Ye Yun felt a surge of immense joy: "My leukemia... is cured?"
