Where am I exactly?

My head is fuzzy, but I am certainly conscious.

I was supposed to have been hit by a truck.

I thought I had died completely, but it seems the human body is much tougher than I thought.

Perhaps it was the benefit of the black magic items I ordered from overseas while working part-time.

I remember eating something like Zombie Powder and Phoenix Fried Chicken.

By the way, the Zombie Powder was sweet. I mixed it into my coffee and drank it.

The Phoenix Fried Chicken tasted like rubber. I remember sharing it with Yamasan, a senior in the club.

It feels like a long time has passed since I was hit by the truck, but it also feels like it hasn’t been that long.

Maybe I only sustained minor injuries.

I remember being thrown onto the sidewalk and losing consciousness, but I’m not very confident about whether I had serious injuries or not.

But, I’m glad I’m alive.

Come to think of it, I remember that girl crying and hugging me.

This could be a good opportunity for a second persuasion. The Black Magic Research Club is eternal and indestructible.

While thinking such pointless things, I opened my eyes and saw an unfamiliar woman.

She was clearly not Japanese. Her hair and skin were as pale as if they were translucent, and her eyes were red.

She gave an impression of being beautiful and ethereal.

Her face was quite close to mine. I tried to pull back my head, but it wouldn’t move properly.

When our eyes met, the woman smiled.

"――――――――"

It was clearly a language I had never heard before.

A man peered at me from beside the woman. He also had white hair and red eyes, just like the woman.

Excuse me, where are you from...?

"Ah, Ah, Wah..."

I tried to communicate using gestures, but I couldn’t get the words out properly.

But that’s not all.

I was shocked to see my own hands. They were small, like those of an infant, and just like the two people in front of me, they were very pale.

I realized intuitively.

Could it be that I have been reborn?

Could it be that these mysterious, foreign-looking beautiful people are my parents in this life?

No, that can’t be possible.

I looked down at my feet abruptly.

I was being held by the woman.

"Ah, Ah! Aaaaaah!"

I cried out.

The woman gently moved her hands up and down to soothe me.

No, that’s not it.

The man and the woman were looking at me with a smile.

It was the look of parents watching their child.

Completely.
