Chapter 001: The Altered Application

In 2010, in the land of Yanhuang.

On a scorching summer morning, cicadas were chirping incessantly on the branches, as if cheering for the sweltering heat.

It was already summer vacation, and logically, the school should have been deserted. However, today, Binxian No. 1 High School was bustling with activity.

Because today was the day when the senior high school students would receive their college acceptance letters.

After twelve years of hard study, wasn't this the moment they had been waiting for to see their names on the golden list?

In the crowd, groups of people were laughing and chatting, as those who received their acceptance letters first were the ones who had been admitted to undergraduate programs.

Almost everyone shed tears of joy upon receiving their acceptance letters.

However, amidst this festive moment, a shrill siren echoed throughout the school, leaving almost everyone stunned.

Class 4 of Senior 3.

"Come with us!"

Two police officers took out a pair of shiny handcuffs and led a young man away, despite his struggles being futile.

"Why are you arresting me? Why? What law have I broken? You..."

The young man being taken away was dressed simply, tall and slender, and not particularly outstanding. If it weren't for his eyes, which shone like stars, revealing a strong and resolute spirit, he might have gone unnoticed in the crowd.

His name was Lin Yi. Today, he had come to collect his acceptance letter. When he received it, he discovered that the university he was admitted to was different from the one he had applied to.

Feeling something was amiss, he immediately reported it to the police. However, when the police arrived, he was the one taken away!

Shocked, disbelieving, and confused!

"Hmph, trying to fight me?"

In the crowd, a handsome young man stared coldly at Lin Yi, who was being taken away. His eyes were filled with a chilling darkness.

This young man was Song Zhe, a classmate of Lin Yi's.

From freshman to senior year, Song Zhe and Lin Yi had always been academic rivals. This time, Lin Yi had become the top student of Binxian No. 1 High School, while he himself could only rank third!

If it were just that, it wouldn't have mattered much. Being first or third wouldn't significantly affect their futures.

However, this time, the city had only allocated two spots for admission to the Capital University to Binxian No. 1 High School.

"Brother Zhe, this guy is too young to fight you. My uncle is the head of the Education Bureau. He's just a poor boy from the countryside, what is he?"

Beside Song Zhe, a plump, lecherous-looking young man sneered.

"Fat Pig, did you take care of what I asked you to do?" Song Zhe raised an eyebrow and asked the fat man in a low voice.

"Brother Zhe, how could I not complete what you asked? Don't worry, I've already taken care of the police. We can go directly!"

The man called Fat Pig smiled at Song Zhe.

Song Zhe chuckled and nodded in satisfaction. "Fat Pig, I've already talked to my father. The expansion project for Binxian No. 1 High School will be awarded to your family."

"Really? Thank you, Brother Zhe, thank you, Brother Zhe!" Fat Pig laughed excitedly. "By the way, my father heard that you got into Capital University this time. He said he would set up a few tables for you at Four Seasons Wealth. What do you think...?"

"You, being so formal with me?" Song Zhe smiled calmly.

"Of course, who else but my big brother?" Fat Pig appeared rough, but he was actually quite meticulous and ruthless.

Almost everyone in Binxian No. 1 High School was discussing Lin Yi's arrest.

The top student of Binxian No. 1 High School being taken away by the police naturally caused a significant stir.

Binxian Police Station, Interrogation Room!

After Lin Yi was arrested, he was left alone, with no one paying attention to him. He carefully recalled what had happened.

From the moment he reported it to the police to being arrested, what had actually happened? He had no idea.

Lin Yi hoped someone would come to explain, even if it was just to interrogate him, but after so long, no one had come.

Bang!

Just as Lin Yi was in a daze, the door to the interrogation room finally opened.

To his surprise, the first person he saw was his classmate, Song Zhe.

Beside Song Zhe, Fat Pig was looking at Lin Yi with a mocking smile.

"Song Zhe, it was you!"

Lin Yi wasn't stupid. When he received his acceptance letter, he heard that Song Zhe had been admitted to Capital University, while he himself had been admitted to Tongzhou University. How could this be a coincidence?

He knew Song Zhe's father was the head of the Education Bureau, and Fat Pig's uncle was the deputy chief of the Binxian Police Station.

Seeing these two people suddenly appear, Lin Yi immediately understood what had happened.

"What do you mean?" Song Zhe feigned ignorance, smiling at Lin Yi. "I heard you were arrested, so I came to see you with Fat Pig. After all, we were classmates!"

"Hehe, Lin Yi, you've come to this, haven't you..." Fat Pig sneered.

Song Zhe coughed lightly. "Fat Pig, how can you talk like that? He's our classmate!"

"Right, right, classmate, classmate! Haha..."

Fat Pig laughed maniacally. The police hadn't come, but these two had. Who would believe there was no foul play?

"Did you alter my application?"

Lin Yi roared, his entire body like a raging lion. If his hands weren't cuffed to the chair, he would have punched these two in the face.

"Hehe, so what if I did? So what if I didn't? Tongzhou University isn't bad either!" Song Zhe looked at Lin Yi with a calm smile, sneering.

Lin Yi's eyes turned bloodshot. At that moment, he wanted to tear these two apart. "I'll kill you!"

Bang!

Fat Pig kicked Lin Yi in the stomach, causing him to fall off his chair and hit the ground hard.

He sneered at Lin Yi. "You really don't know your place, do you? Brother Zhe, should we lock this guy up for a while?"

Song Zhe looked at Lin Yi and waved his hand. "Lin Yi, if you go to Tongzhou University quietly, I'll go my way, and you'll go yours. I can have you released right now..."

"Song Zhe, don't think that just because your father is the head of the Education Bureau, I'm afraid of you. This isn't over. I don't believe you can lock me up forever. What law have I broken?"

Lin Yi usually didn't talk much, but once his temper flared, no one could stop him.

Fat Pig kicked Lin Yi again. "Brother Zhe, you're giving him too much face. Do you think he deserves to go to Capital University?"

Blood trickled from the corner of Lin Yi's mouth. He looked at the two men in front of him with a mix of anger and despair. His dream of attending Capital University had been shattered by these two. He refused to accept it!

Song Zhe laughed sinisterly. "Lin Yi, do you know how serious the charge of drug trafficking is? I heard from the police that your backpack contained a lot of..."

"You... you two beasts, may you die a horrible death!"

False accusation, entrapment!

This was definitely a false accusation and entrapment!

Lin Yi never imagined that these two would go to such lengths to frame him. No wonder the police had taken him away without a word.
