Three years later.......
Park Jihao is 17 years old! Park Jiyeon is 10 years old!
"Jihao... how long are you going to dawdle? Did you secretly go to move bricks again? Aren't you afraid of working yourself to death?" In front of the meat shop at the market, a big, muscular man shouted at Park Jihao, who was moving the meat.
Park Jihao smiled slightly and politely said, "I'm sorry, Uncle Jucheol. Jiyeon needs a taekwondo uniform for her class, so I moved some bricks last night. I am a bit tired, but don't worry, I'll finish moving your meat soon."
Seeing the polite and smiling Park Jihao, Lee Jucheol sighed and said, "I've told you, if you need money, just tell me. Did you move bricks all night again? You! You need to have a limit for your sister. What will Jiyeon do if you collapse?"
After hearing Lee Jucheol's words, Park Jihao smiled slightly and didn't respond. After moving all the frozen meat, Park Jihao, drenched in sweat, sat on a long bench in Lee Jucheol's shop. Soon, Lee Jucheol came over and threw a towel to Park Jihao. After Park Jihao wiped the sweat off, Lee Jucheol handed him a cup of tea and said, "Drink up! It's ginseng tea your aunt made, it's good for you."
Without hesitation, Park Jihao took the cup and drank it all in big gulps. Lee Jucheol was speechless and went to the back to refill the water. When he came back, he found that Park Jihao had already fallen asleep on the bench.
Shaking his head, Lee Jucheol took a blanket and gently covered Park Jihao.
At noon, a cute little girl with a ponytail, wearing a white taekwondo uniform, ran into Lee Jucheol's shop. Seeing Park Jihao lying on the long bench, the little girl giggled and took out a foxtail grass from behind her, slowly approaching Park Jihao!
When she reached Park Jihao, the little girl gently touched his nose with the foxtail grass!
"Hmm...!" Park Jihao grunted and twisted his nose with his hand. This action made the little girl laugh happily. She quickly made another move with the foxtail grass, but to her surprise, Park Jihao suddenly opened his eyes, jumped up from the bench, and grabbed the little girl, biting her cheek and saying, "You dare to play a prank on OPPA, so OPPA will eat you!"
The little girl screamed and pleaded pitifully, "Please, OPPA, don't eat Yanbao, Yanbao is not tasty at all!"
"No, I must eat you!" Park Jihao continued to pretend to bite Park Jiyeon, who was shouting for help.
At this moment, Lee Jucheol came out smiling and said, "That's enough, stop being naughty and go home!" He then handed a bag of meat to Park Jihao and said, "Here... take it home and cook it for Jiyeon!"
"Wow... pork belly! Pork belly! Uncle Jucheol, you're so great!"
Seeing the happy Park Jiyeon, Park Jihao bowed and said, "Thank you, Uncle!"
Lee Jucheol patted Park Jihao's head and said with a smile, "No need to be so formal with me."
......................................
Park Jihao and Park Jiyeon sang their way back home, to a house that was less than 40 square meters!
"OPPA! OPPA! Let's eat meat!" Park Jiyeon shouted happily.
Park Jihao took out the grill and said, "Don't rush, Yanbao. Help OPPA wash the lettuce first, okay?"
"Okay...!" Park Jiyeon said obediently.
After everything was ready, the 'sizzling' sound filled the small house, but Park Jiyeon was the one eating the meat, while Park Jihao was eating rice and kimchi!
"OPPA, you should eat too!" Park Jiyeon wrapped the meat in lettuce and tried to feed it to Park Jihao, but he pushed it back into her mouth and said, "OPPA has already eaten a lot. You see, our Yanbao should eat more, don't worry about OPPA!"
"Oh...!" Park Jiyeon said naively.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Park Jiyeon laughed and said, "It must be Chenxi OPPA, coming to ask you about homework!"
"Mind your own business...!" Park Jihao said with a smile, "Is it Chenxi? Come in, the door is open."
Soon, a 15-year-old boy walked in. Seeing Park Jihao and Park Jiyeon grilling meat, Lin Chenxi smiled and said, "I'll grill mine too!" He then showed the food on his plate.
"Big ribs...!" Park Jiyeon was delighted and immediately asked Park Jihao to grill them for her. With no choice, Park Jihao thanked Lin Chenxi, who smiled and said, "No problem... By the way, Jihao, I'll wait for you at the usual spot after school!"
Park Jihao smiled and nodded.
.......................................
At dusk after school, Park Jihao came to a broken wall at the market. Lin Chenxi was already waiting there. Park Jihao started tutoring Lin Chenxi, who admired Park Jihao greatly. He wanted to do well in his studies, but his brain just couldn't keep up. Many things were completely beyond his understanding. Park Jihao, on the other hand, was very smart. It was said that he had never gone to school but had learned all the way to university through self-study. Moreover, he explained things in a very simple and understandable way. Such a Park Jihao was deeply admired by Lin Chenxi.
After Park Jihao finished tutoring, Park Jiyeon would also run over, and the three of them would sit by the broken wall, watching the sunset.
A week later.......
In the morning, Park Jiyeon got up early, put on a new set of clothes, and let Park Jihao hold the mirror to look at her again and again. She then giggled and said to Park Jihao, "OPPA, I'll bring you a big red flower when I come back at noon. I will definitely win the dance competition today!" She confidently waved her little fist.
Park Jihao chuckled and said, "If you lose, don't hit people, or OPPA will lose face."
"Hmph... you don't believe in me! I'm leaving!" Park Jiyeon turned around.
"Um...!" Park Jihao stretched out his face and pointed to his cheek with his finger.
Without hesitation, Park Jiyeon gave him a kiss and said, "Okay, I really have to go, or I'll be late."
Waving goodbye to Park Jiyeon, Park Jihao started his work. Time quickly passed, and it was already noon. Park Jihao prepared Park Jiyeon's favorite ribs at home, but she didn't come back. Around 1 PM, Park Jihao rushed to the school, but the school told him that Park Jiyeon had left at noon and hadn't come back to class.
This made Park Jihao's heart skip a beat. Where had his sister gone? Without hesitation, Park Jihao started a frantic search, going to every place Park Jiyeon could have gone. But there was no sign of her anywhere. Around 5 PM, Park Jihao rushed into the local police station!
As soon as he entered, Park Jihao rushed to the reporting desk, crying, "Sir, I need to report a missing person. My sister is missing. I've searched everywhere she could be, but I can't find her. Please, can you help me?"
Park Jihao was agitated, scared, and panicked, but the police officer was annoyed and indifferent, as he was about to leave for the day.
"How long has your sister been missing?" the officer asked, packing up his things.
Park Jihao immediately responded gratefully, "Since noon, it's been five hours." He thought he would get help, but the officer sneered, "Five hours? You should leave. A missing person case can't be filed until 48 hours have passed. Leave, leave, I'm off duty! What a hassle!"
"No... no... Sir, my sister is very well-behaved. Something must have happened. She wouldn't stay out this long. I beg you, I'll even kneel and beg. I promised my mother I would take care of my sister. If something happens to her, I won't dare to face my mother even if I die!" With that, Park Jihao knelt down and started banging his head on the ground, making a loud 'thud' sound. Soon, his forehead was red and swollen.
But Park Jihao's actions only earned him a disdainful "You're sick!" from the officer, who then left without a backward glance.
"No... you can't leave! I need to report this. My sister is in danger! She could die." Park Jihao, seeing the officer about to leave, frantically blocked his way and shouted at him.
Seeing Park Jihao dare to shout at him, the officer was furious and said, "Get lost, brat! What does it matter to me if your sister lives or dies? I'm off duty now. If you block me, I'll charge you with assaulting an officer! Damn! Crazy!"
"Stop...!" Park Jihao punched the officer in a fit of rage.
.......................................
"Let me out, let me out! My sister could die! Please, let me out, I need to find her! She could die! Please, let me out!" Park Jihao's pitiful cries echoed in the police station's cell.
At this moment, a plainclothes officer came over and asked another officer, "What's going on? What's that kid shouting about?"
Seeing the newcomer, the officer, who had been sitting, immediately stood up and saluted, "Hello, Chief Kang Jemin. That kid reported his sister missing, but she's only been missing for five hours. According to regulations, a case can only be filed after 48 hours. It was just the end of the shift, so the officer who took the report was about to leave. The kid wouldn't let up and even hit the officer, so he was arrested for assaulting an officer!"
"How old is his sister?" Kang Jemin asked, alert.
"Ten...!" the officer replied.
"Ten...? Could it be them?" Kang Jemin's eyes darted around, muttering to himself.
At this moment, Lin Chenxi followed a police officer into the cell. The officer said to the guard, "Alright, release that kid who assaulted the officer. Someone has come to bail him out!"
Seeing Lin Chenxi, Park Jihao's tears streamed down his face, and he cried out in pain, "Chenxi... Jiyeon is missing! What should I do?"
Seeing Park Jihao crying loudly, Lin Chenxi supported him and said softly, "Don't be afraid, I know where she is. Let's go quickly!"
These words made Park Jihao's eyes light up!
