Although the saber-toothed tiger was not an agile type of beast, as a late-stage second-rank beast, its speed was definitely faster than that of a regular second-rank beast. Su Ming’s speed was only at the level of a second-rank beast, and the distance of several hundred meters was gradually closing.

Soon, Su Ming felt the saber-toothed tiger’s panting breath right behind him, his heart leaping to his throat. In terror, he turned his head and saw the ferocious beast’s head just one meter behind him, its blood-red mouth facing his head. Su Ming had no doubt that the saber-toothed tiger could swallow him whole.

To save his life, Su Ming bent his body backward while raising his hands high, holding the black iron war sword and thrusting it into the saber-toothed tiger’s gaping mouth.

"Roar..."

A deafening tiger roar startled the surrounding low-rank beasts, and countless low-rank beasts scattered. At this moment, no low-rank beast dared to provoke the tiger.

Su Han, who was anxiously searching for his son, stopped when he heard the sound, furrowing his brow. He wondered: Could this kid have provoked a saber-toothed tiger?

After observing the area, Su Han confirmed that Su Ming was definitely fighting the saber-toothed tiger. From the tiger’s roar, he could tell that Su Ming had injured the saber-toothed tiger. However, Su Han did not believe that Su Ming could defeat the saber-toothed tiger, as the saber-toothed tiger’s strength was equivalent to a human at the peak of the Mortal Heart Realm.

At this moment, Su Han’s unease grew. His son had barely come back from the dead and could not die at the hands of the saber-toothed tiger, or he would truly be left with nothing.

Identifying the direction of the sound, Su Han ran as fast as he could, repeatedly telling himself: I must save my son from the tiger’s mouth.

Su Ming’s sword had pierced the saber-toothed tiger’s mouth, causing it to roar in pain and fall to the ground. Since the sword was deeply embedded in the tiger’s mouth, Su Ming could not pull it out. To save his life, he abandoned the sword and fled.

Su Ming’s attack had thoroughly enraged the saber-toothed tiger. In its fury, the tiger bit through the sword despite the injury, blood trickling down its mouth. After another roar, the saber-toothed tiger charged at Su Ming, determined to swallow him to avenge its injury.

What a close call, almost becoming the saber-toothed tiger’s lunch. It seems this young master’s life is quite resilient, Su Ming reassured himself as he ran. He knew that as long as the saber-toothed tiger was alive, he could not escape the danger. He was already approaching his physical limits, and such an all-out sprint had drained him of much of his strength. If not for his unique steps, Su Ming would have already become the saber-toothed tiger’s meal.

At this moment, a flash of inspiration struck Su Ming, and a bold idea formed in his mind. He gritted his teeth and confirmed his plan.

"Sprite, help me find any beasts in the area that can match the saber-toothed tiger," Su Ming called out in his mind.

"Master, there is a wolf den 500 meters ahead. There are seven wolves in the den, and their strength can match the saber-toothed tiger."

"Master, you’re not thinking of..." The sprite sensed Su Ming’s plan and exclaimed in shock.

"Since I’m going to die anyway, I might as well take a few with me. It would be worth it," Su Ming said with a resigned look, though he was extremely unwilling to become the saber-toothed tiger’s meal.

"400 meters"

"300 meters"

"200 meters"

"100 meters"

"50 meters"

The sprite kept reporting the distance between Su Ming and the wolf den, and Su Ming’s heart leaped to his throat. When the seven wolves appeared before him, he leaped into the air, flipped, and landed steadily on the ground.

At the entrance of the wolf den, seven gray beasts stood in the wind, their ferocious fangs, fierce faces, and bloodthirsty eyes making Su Ming’s body tremble. The wolves were strong hunters, with a wild nature that feared no danger and dared to challenge any enemy.

From the eyes of the seven wolves, Su Ming could see that he had become their lunch. If he moved, the seven wolves would pounce on him in the next moment.

Su Ming stood still, recalling a saying: Am I now afraid of wolves in front and tigers behind? Damn it, which bastard used this phrase to describe the timid? Is this being timid?... A hint of helplessness flashed across Su Ming’s tense face.

"Master, the saber-toothed tiger is 300 meters away. The sprite suggests you run in the three o'clock direction. There is a 200-meter-tall iron fir tree 100 meters away, which is your only chance to survive."

"Let’s do it," Su Ming growled, then turned and ran in the three o'clock direction.

Su Ming successfully attracted the seven wolves. As he turned to run, the seven wolves charged in the direction he was fleeing.

A short while later, Su Ming saw the 200-meter-tall iron fir tree that the sprite had mentioned. Seeing the tree, Su Ming felt like he had seen a naked beauty, overjoyed. He ran to the tree, stomped his right foot on the ground, and leaped up, grabbing the tree and climbing like a monkey.

When life is threatened, human potential is immense. Su Ming climbed to the middle of the iron fir tree in one breath, took a deep breath, and looked down. When he saw the seven wolves reach the base of the tree, his heart tightened, fearing that the wolves would knock the tree down.

The wolf king howled to the sky. Just as it was about to charge the tree, the saber-toothed tiger arrived at the base. The wolf king took a cautious step back and glared at the saber-toothed tiger.

In an instant, a deafening tiger roar echoed, and the saber-toothed tiger seemed to be showing off in front of the wolf king, scaring the surrounding low-rank beasts into hiding again, fearing they would be caught in the crossfire.

Although the wolves were not a match for the saber-toothed tiger, the seven wolf beasts were not afraid of it, especially since the saber-toothed tiger was injured. From the wolf king’s fierce gaze, it was clear that the saber-toothed tiger had become their prey.

Seeing that the wolf king had no intention of retreating, the saber-toothed tiger temporarily abandoned Su Ming in the tree and focused on the seven wolves. If it were not injured, these seven wolves would not be a match for the saber-toothed tiger. It could bite them to death even if it was injured, but now it still had a broken sword in its mouth, and the wound was bleeding.

The saber-toothed tiger’s sudden movement provoked the wolf beasts. The wolf king led the attack, leaping like an arrow toward the saber-toothed tiger. The other six wolves followed, charging at the saber-toothed tiger.

Seeing the saber-toothed tiger and the seven wolves engage, Su Ming on the iron fir tree breathed a sigh of relief, his life temporarily saved.

Facing the wolves’ attack, the saber-toothed tiger took a step back, then leaped forward, not directly at the wolf king but at the weaker wolves behind the wolf king.
