Chapter 100

"Ugh!"

"Look, what's wrong with you?"

Every time Lucifer swung his arm, Koushin's body rolled like a ball from side to side. What should have been a casual attack caused the ground to peel up and a gale to rise with a single strike. Koushin was barely managing to stay on his feet using the regeneration ability of a hero, but he had no chance of launching an offensive.

"You lack spirit, but then again, it's only natural when facing me."

"Damn it!"

"Hm?"

A shockwave hit Koushin directly. However, despite sustaining multiple bruises, Koushin instantly released a flying sword. It headed straight for Lucifer.

"Hmm."

Lucifer didn't even try to dodge it. Koushin, who had managed to land and steady himself, watched in shock as the flying sword struck Lucifer.

—Or so it seemed.

"Good counter, but it's not worth my time to receive it."

"What...?"

The flying sword passed through Lucifer's body. It flew high into the sky and dissipated in mid-air. The attack that should have hit him didn't. The shock was enough to distort Koushin's expression.

"Good expression, human. How about it? This is the power of the Seven Holy Swords, Pride."

"Damn it!"

Losing his composure, Koushin didn't listen to Lucifer's words and released another flying sword. However, Lucifer didn't move.

"It's futile."

The flying sword passed through Lucifer again, leaving only a large scar on the ground behind him.

"My ability, Unjust Judgment, only accepts attacks I recognize. Human, your attacks will never be received by me."

"Shut up!"

Enraged, Koushin released flying swords in rapid succession. Several of his most powerful flying swords headed toward Lucifer.

"I told you it's futile."

As before, all of them passed through Lucifer, only leaving scars on the ground behind him.

"Not yet!"

Koushin raised his sword again and swung it twice. Lucifer sighed at the sight.

"Just a fool's trick."

Lucifer didn't move. The flying swords were supposed to pass through him.

However—

"!?"

"〈Flying Sword of Light〉!"

The flying sword emitted a intense light right in front of Lucifer.

"Ugh."

Lucifer instinctively covered his eyes. No matter how much he claimed the attacks would pass through him, he couldn't avoid the effects on his senses.

"Annoying..."

As his vision gradually returned, Lucifer lowered his hand. However, even though his eyes had healed and were uncovered, his vision was still blocked. The dust cloud around him was obscuring his view.

"I see, the second attack."

When Koushin released the Flying Sword of Light, he had also released another flying sword. However, a simple flying sword wouldn't create such a large dust cloud. What was important was the new skill Koushin had learned.

'Attribute Addition,' a technique that adds attributes to flying swords to produce various effects.

The first to blind Lucifer's vision was the 'Flying Sword of Light,' which added light to the flying sword to create a flash. The dust cloud currently blocking his vision was created by the 'Flying Sword of Wind.' Koushin had shot it at Lucifer's feet, causing the dust to rise. Since it wasn't naturally occurring, he could control it to a certain extent and keep it floating around Lucifer. However, even with his vision blocked, Lucifer was still invulnerable to attacks. This level of interference could only buy a few seconds.

"Humans are indeed cunning creatures."

Lucifer swung his arm, and a gale swept away the dust cloud in an instant. His vision cleared, and Koushin's figure became visible.

"...What is that form?"

"It bought some time... I needed a little time to enter this mode."

Koushin's appearance had changed. He was now clad in silver armor, holding a holy sword in one hand. On his back, holy swords of the same shape were arranged in a circle. Two more such circles were around him, making a total of three circles of swords.
