Davis had just survived a plane crash.
Fortunately, he managed to stay alive thanks to his exceptional skills from his military service.
He also managed to save Professor Kate Coddwell and Agent Harvey Russell, whom he had just met.
This was definitely not a pleasant experience.
Even on the battlefield in the past, he had never encountered such a dangerous situation.
The white ape George, whom he regarded as his own child, attacked everyone on the transport plane as if he had gone mad.
Including Davis, who almost died at George's hands.
However, the worst thing that could have happened did not occur; George's body was not found among the wreckage of the plane.
But this was not something to be celebrated.
The violent state George displayed made Davis even more worried.
What kind of casualties and destruction would it cause if it appeared in a densely populated area?
And the military would certainly not tolerate a beast over seven meters tall running amok in the city.
George had grown even larger, and his temperament had become as uncontrollable as his body.
He was getting bigger and more violent.
Agent Harvey Russell walked over: "The situation is not looking good. The military has reported that your little monkey is approaching Chicago, and they have already deployed a large number of troops on the outskirts."
"There's no use. Those weapons won't stop George," Professor Coddwell said.
Professor Coddwell was a researcher at Gene Energy Corporation.
No one understood the terrifying nature of those mutated creatures better than she did.
"The genetic pathogen has given George an incredible regenerative ability. The damage you inflict on him might not even be as fast as his self-healing."
"Why is it going to Chicago?"
"Blair has always advocated for bats' ultralow-frequency communication, so she included bat genes in the genetic pathogen experiments. Now she must be attracting George with some kind of low-frequency signal. She wants to extract the genetic pathogen from George."
"We must get to the city and stop it," Davis said solemnly.
"You said it yourself, the military can't stop it. How can you stop it? Do you have some magic bullet?" Agent Russell said sarcastically.
"Listen, I know where to find this 'bullet.' There must be a drug in Gene Energy Corporation that can suppress it. Blair is a smart woman; she wouldn't create a weapon she can't control."
Suddenly, there was a rustling sound in the cornfield where they were standing.
Agent Russell's expression was uneasy: "I have a bad feeling about this."
Davis and Coddwell exchanged glances; they both had a sense of foreboding.
A huge black ape emerged from the edge of the cornfield.
It wasn't as big as George, but its size was definitely not natural.
"Is it part of your plan?" Agent Russell's face was grim.
Davis looked at the black giant ape in front of him; he had never seen it before.
But he knew how dangerous it was.
Davis had been involved in anti-poaching for many years.
He had also lived with George and many other gorillas for a long time.
He began to cautiously try to communicate with the black giant ape in front of him.
If it hadn't been interfered with by a signal...
Jin Si walked towards Davis.
At this moment, Davis's body stiffened.
His tall and muscular limbs did not give him a sense of security.
He knew that a gorilla's muscles and bone density were three times that of a human.
Not to mention the mutated giant ape in front of him, which weighed several times more than an ordinary gorilla.
Agent Russell had already drawn his gun, ready to shoot at any moment.
"Are you sure you want to face this thing that even machine guns can't kill with that little thing?" Davis whispered.
"Alright." Agent Russell lowered his gun.
But he didn't have the courage to put it away.
The gun was the only thing that gave him a sense of security.
Davis began to communicate with Jin Si using sign language.
Jin Si extended his right hand, making a gesture.
"Σ(っ°Д°;)っ" Davis.
"Σ(っ°Д°;)っ" Russell.
"Σ(っ°Д°;)っ" Coddwell.
Davis saw a glimpse of George in this black giant ape.
George was also mischievous but showed a hint of humanity.
"Hello." Davis felt a bit more at ease; at least the black giant ape in front of him could communicate.
"Bad, my owner was taken away." Jin Si held a phone, with a few words typed on the screen.
Davis, Russell, and Coddwell were all stunned.
The black giant ape in front of them was typing?
Jin Si grinned and typed another line on the phone: "Seeing your ignorant faces, I feel very satisfied."
"..." Davis.
"..." Agent Russell.
"..." Coddwell.
It wasn't George; it was a monkey that was even smarter and more mischievous than George.
"That one over there, you better put the phone down, or I'll make your head have a friendly meeting with your flowers."
Agent Russell reluctantly put down the phone.
"How about we make a deal?" Jin Si handed the phone with the typed message to Agent Russell.
"A deal? Me? You?"
"More accurately, the department you represent." Jin Si said.
"Do you know what department I represent?"
"I don't know, but it's a government department, right?"
"Alright, I'm starting to get interested in the content of this deal."
"Help me rescue my owner, then give us ten million dollars. I'll let you extract the genetic pathogen from me, along with hair, muscle, and blood tissue. Brain tissue is off the table."
The three were stunned again.
What a shame... a monkey actually sold itself for money.
"Do you know what we'll do with your body tissues?" Agent Russell looked at Jin Si with a glint in his eye.
In his eyes, the black giant ape in front of him was undoubtedly a huge treasure.
He also wanted to see just how smart this black giant ape was.
"It's just research, to see if we can figure out why I'm so smart. Or, at worst, cloning my cells. Oh, if you really plan to clone me, could you give me a baby?"
"What do you want to do?"
"You might not believe me, but my dream is to become a father."
The three found it quite absurd; a monkey was talking to them about its dreams.
"Who is your owner?"
"A mercenary. Although I haven't been with him for long, he's a good person."
"Can you tell the difference between good and bad people?" Agent Russell thought that if he could sow discord between them and then bring him into his fold, it might be the best outcome.
"He spent fifty dollars to solve my physiological needs, so I think he's a good person."
"..."
Damn, what a scumbag.
Indeed, the moral standards of humans and monkeys were on different levels.
Davis's face was dark; if he ever met its owner, he would definitely beat him to death.
"If it were me, I could spend a hundred dollars for you."
"(▔皿▔╬)" Davis.
