Under the sunlight, the beach exuded a captivating charm.
The sea gently washed up onto the sand, then slowly receded, leaving behind damp traces and some tiny aquatic creatures. The rhythmic sound of the waves was so pleasant to the ear.
Ian had been standing on the beach for a while, and finally, he saw a black shadow flying from the horizon. He quickly whistled.
The black shadow, upon hearing the whistle, immediately turned and flew toward him. When it got closer, it became clear that it was a seagull.
A strange seagull...
It was quite large, with a sailor's cap on its head and a backpack hanging from its neck.
Seeing it land on the sand, Ian walked up to it, took out a coin, and handed it over, saying, "A newspaper, please!"
However, the seagull, upon seeing the "50" marked on the coin, shook its head in difficulty and used its sharp beak to pick out a piece of paper from the backpack. The paper had a large number written on it: "80"!
"Another price hike!?" Ian stared at the seagull, indignant. "Didn't it just go up last week? Why is it going up again!?"
"Ku!" The seagull let out a call, scratched its head with its wing, and looked troubled, as if to say it couldn't help it.
"Alright, alright, here you go! 80 berries! If it goes up again, I won't come to you anymore!" Ian, feeling the pain, took out three more 10-coin pieces from his pocket and handed them over. The seagull took the money and then retrieved a newspaper from its backpack, handing it to Ian.
The seagull flapped its wings and flew away, while Ian unfolded the newspaper and started reading it as he walked back.
The headline read: "Red-Haired Pirate Group Spotted in the East Blue."
"Red-Haired Shanks..." Ian sighed. "One of the Four Emperors... This is definitely the world of One Piece."
Having been in this world for three months, Ian once again confirmed his situation, unsure whether to cry or laugh.
Originally named An Yi, he was a regular young man from Earth. It was a stroke of bad luck that while he was out shopping, he passed by a KFC he often visited. It was exactly 12 o'clock, and on a whim, he took out his phone to get some internet to play his mobile game and collect some stamina. However, at that moment, the large sign outside the KFC suddenly fell, hitting him directly...
He assumed he must have died, because when he woke up again, he found himself in a strange place, possessing the body of a ten-year-old boy named Ian.
At first, he didn't understand where he was. It was just a remote village with limited information. It wasn't until he heard the words "Pirate King Roger" from his master, Koshiro, that he was stunned.
Only then did he realize he had come to the world of One Piece, and this place was the East Blue's Fushia Village!
He never imagined that just trying to get some internet could bring him here. Although he was also a fan of One Piece, he still found it hard to believe that this could happen to him.
Is it wrong to try to get some internet!? Can't a person even live in peace!?
While his mind was in turmoil, he walked toward the village. Soon, Ian arrived at a dojo. Outside the dojo, a middle-aged man with round glasses, long black hair in a ponytail, and a gentle, harmless smile was waiting for him.
"Master!"
Seeing the middle-aged man, Ian quickened his pace and called out, "Here's this week's newspaper!"
This middle-aged man was Ian's master, Koshiro. Ian, an orphan, had been adopted by Koshiro and trained in swordsmanship at the dojo.
Koshiro took the newspaper and patted Ian's head, smiling, "Thank you for your hard work!"
This was a tender gesture, but Ian, with an adult's mind in a child's body, found it very awkward.
Fortunately, Master Koshiro didn't notice his discomfort. He read the newspaper while walking into the dojo, and Ian followed behind.
"Red-Haired Pirate Group? What are they doing in the East Blue?" Koshiro looked worried after reading the news.
Ian couldn't help but roll his eyes. He knew what Koshiro was worried about. Although Red-Haired Shanks was a good person in the manga, he was still a pirate. Koshiro's concern was understandable, but Ian knew that Shanks would only make a brief stop in Windmill Village and wouldn't come to Fushia Village.
So Koshiro's worry was unnecessary.
Windmill Village... Ian couldn't help but recall that it was the town where Luffy lived. Shanks would have a fateful encounter with Luffy there.
Lost in thought, Ian was suddenly patted on the head by Koshiro, who said, "Ian, what are you thinking about? It's time to call your junior disciples for practice!"
"Yes!" Ian responded dejectedly.
If there was one thing that annoyed Ian the most about being in this world, it was the fixed sword practice sessions at the dojo. Could you imagine practicing sword swings with a group of snot-nosed, gap-toothed, silly-smiling kids lined up neatly, all going "hehehe" together?
It was utterly ridiculous!
Soon, all the disciples in the dojo were gathered, standing in two rows on either side, holding bamboo swords, waiting for the practice to begin.
These children, all from Fushia Village and all boys, varied in height and build. Looking ahead, Ian saw a row of them, tall and short, fat and thin. Looking at his own row, it wasn't much better. The first one on his left was a kid with thick glasses, and every time Ian saw him, he thought the kid's eyes were just two circles.
Next was a bald boy, with snot running down his nose, which he would sniff back in and then let it run down again.
Then there was a curly-haired boy, but his hair was so curly it was almost bizarre, like a deformed version of Felisa, with a bald spot in the middle and two horns sticking out on either side of his head...
All of them looked like misshapen, pitiful creatures, and Ian couldn't bear to look... He wondered how Master Koshiro chose his disciples...
Fortunately, amidst this pitiful scene, there was one bright spot: Kuina, standing at the front of the opposite row.
Kuina, Koshiro's daughter, had clear, large eyes, short, neat black hair, and a boyish appearance. She exuded a stubborn and fierce aura, standing out among the group of children.
When Ian looked over, Kuina also looked back. Though she didn't say anything, she gave Ian a gentle smile, and Ian felt as if he heard her usual call: "Big Brother Ian!"
As an orphan adopted by Master Koshiro, Ian was a few months older than Kuina. In the dojo, Kuina was the strongest, even outmatching the oldest, Ian. Despite this, she always called him "big brother."
So even though Ian had taken over the original body, he still had a deep affection for her.
Though stubborn, Kuina was always a well-mannered child.
The sound of Master Koshiro's voice broke through, and the sword practice began. Ian focused and started swinging his bamboo sword according to Koshiro's commands.
"Slash!" "Retreat!" "Slash!" "Retreat!"
Ian practiced the sword swings diligently, and as he swung his bamboo sword, a voice kept echoing in his mind.
"You have practiced sword swings, Basic Swordsmanship Proficiency +1!"
"You have practiced sword swings, Basic Swordsmanship Proficiency +1!"
"You have practiced sword swings, Basic Swordsmanship Proficiency +1!"
"You have practiced sword swings, Basic Swordsmanship Proficiency +1!"

When he first watched One Piece, Ian had been thrilled by the battles and moved to tears by the characters' relationships. But if you set those aside, the world of One Piece was also full of darkness and cruelty. Ian's body had mediocre talent, and despite years of training with Koshiro, he had made little progress. If things continued like this, Ian thought he might as well live a peaceful life in Fushia Village.
However, fortunately, when he first practiced swordsmanship in this world, Ian discovered something new in his mind.
Perhaps it was due to the accident when he was trying to get internet to play his game, but the game he was playing at the time had somehow imprinted itself on his soul and followed him to this world.
Ironically, this mobile game was a messy, knock-off game that Ian had downloaded. It was a card game where the player had a main character and could form a team by drawing cards, engaging in battles. The cards featured characters from various anime and games, creating a chaotic battle experience. Ian had found it interesting because of the familiar characters, but now, this game, after its transformation, had become his means of survival.
