Hearing this voice, the surrounding murmurs abruptly stopped, and the tattooed man shuddered all over. He was a seasoned thug who had cut many people before, and he could sense the bloodthirsty aura in the voice.
The tattooed man slowly turned around, and the crowd parted to let his gaze fall on the speaker. When he saw that it was just a thin, pale-faced young man, the tattooed man shook his head, suppressing that feeling, and cursed, "Damn, you think you can just say not to move and everyone will listen? Do you really think you're something special!"
The middle-aged man who had been stopped and questioned earlier also noticed Chu Ying, his face filled with confusion, thinking, "This guy was fine just now, all friendly, but now he's like this?"
Even though Chu Ying's heart was as solid as a rock and as hard as iron, the news of his parents' death undoubtedly struck the softest spot in his heart. Sixteen years of waiting and longing, all turned to nothing in an instant—no one could bear it.
The existence of his sister Chu Xin gave Chu Ying a glimmer of hope in his despair. He absolutely would not allow anyone to bully his sister, no one at all!
Hearing the tattooed man's angry curses, Chu Ying took a deep breath and smiled slightly at Huanzi and Chu Xin, who were equally bewildered, as he walked forward, "Huanzi, come down. No one here will touch a single blade of grass on the house!"
Huanzi's expression froze for a moment, then a simple smile appeared on his face, "I appreciate your kindness, brother, but you should leave quickly. This is my business, and I don't need anyone's help!"
Chu Xin stepped out of the crowd and said to Chu Ying, "That's right, big brother, you should leave quickly. We'll handle our own affairs. These people are no good!" As she spoke, she glanced at the tattooed man and his gang, filled with hatred.
"What did you just call me? Can you say it again?" Chu Ying was struck as if by lightning, his voice trembling with anticipation as he looked at the frail girl before him.
Chu Xin, taken aback, brushed the hair from her eyes and said, "I called you big brother, what's wrong?" Since Chu Ying intended to help them and was older, it was only natural to call him big brother.
But she didn't know that the person standing before her was her big brother, her own flesh and blood!
Chu Ying, who had been tempered by six years of war, quickly calmed his excitement and smiled at Chu Xin, nodding, "Don't worry, big brother is here!"
These words made Chu Xin feel an inexplicable sense of closeness. She was about to say something to stop him when she heard Chu Ying laugh and say to Huanzi, "Since you call me brother, how can I stand by and do nothing when my brother is in trouble?"
The villagers looked at Chu Ying as if he were a fool. It wasn't that they were indifferent; they had come to help, but they were intimidated by the sight of the tattooed man and his gang.
What they didn't expect was that someone would actually help the two siblings. The tattooed man's reputation for evil was well-known in the nearby villages. What gave this guy the nerve to stand up for them?
Moreover, Chu Ying had acknowledged Chu Xin's call of "big brother" and Huanzi's call of "brother." Could he not tell that these were just polite terms?
"Damn, take care of this guy first, beat him to death! If he dies, it's on me!" The tattooed man, seeing that Chu Ying completely ignored him and spoke to the two siblings as if he were the only one there, was furious.
"Don't worry, Biao Ge, we'll make sure he doesn't see the sun tomorrow!" The tattooed man's gang members shouted, rushing toward Chu Ying.
A bloodthirsty glint flashed in Chu Ying's eyes. He knew he was no longer the King of Mercenaries but a big brother, a role that came with responsibility and the need to avoid unnecessary killing.
With this in mind, Chu Ying's wrist turned slightly, and the palm strike that was aimed at the neck of the first attacker hit the man's arm instead, with less force. Still, it was more than the man could bear. With a "crack," he screamed and fell backward, his arm twisted and deformed, clearly broken.
The villagers gasped, staring at Chu Ying as if he were a monster, while the tattooed man's gang members swallowed hard, their bravado faltering. No one dared to rush forward.
These guys were just idle hooligans, arrogant in their daily lives but fundamentally cowards. They had never encountered such a situation and were now at a loss, looking to the tattooed man for direction.
The tattooed man was slightly startled and cursed, "What are you all afraid of? He's just one guy. Attack together, take him down!"
The gang members regained their confidence. No matter how strong the opponent, he was still just one person, and they were more than a dozen. They didn't believe he could take them all down.
Chu Ying sneered inwardly. He knew the principle of capturing the king to capture the thief and didn't want to be too aggressive in front of the villagers. He moved, dodging the attacks of the gang members and charging toward the tattooed man.
The tattooed man was no ordinary thug. He was experienced in fighting and much stronger than the average person. Seeing Chu Ying charge, he sneered and punched toward Chu Ying's chest.
The villagers gasped, and Chu Xin closed her eyes. The young man might be able to handle the gang members, but the tattooed man was a different story. If that punch landed, his small frame would be deformed.
"Anyone who offends Biao Ge here hasn't even been born yet. Kid, you're dead!" The tattooed man, seeing Chu Ying stop, was secretly pleased. His fist shot forward with a straight punch, reaching Chu Ying's face in an instant.
In a flash, Chu Ying's hand appeared from nowhere, grabbing the tattooed man's fist. With a light squeeze, the tattooed man let out a pig-like scream, "My hand! My hand won't move!"
Indeed, even though Chu Ying had let go, the tattooed man's fist remained clenched, the joints deformed and squished together like dough.
The tattooed man was drenched in cold sweat, his eyes wide with fear as he looked at Chu Ying, who was walking toward him. He tried to sound tough, "Don't come near me, I'm Dong Ge's man. Offend Dong Ge... ah!"
Before he could finish, the tattooed man screamed again, but this time he couldn't speak. Chu Ying had grabbed his neck and lifted him off the ground, his feet kicking wildly in the air, his face turning purple.
"Slap!" A slap sent the tattooed man's face swelling. Chu Ying smiled, "Now that you're in my hands, you belong to me!"
The tattooed man nodded frantically, his hands desperately trying to pry Chu Ying's grip, but it was like an iron clamp, immovable no matter how hard he tried.
"Big brother, let him go, or he'll die!" Chu Xin rushed to Chu Ying's side, her voice filled with alarm.
"My sister says to let you go, so I'll spare your life for now!" Chu Ying released his grip, and the tattooed man collapsed on the ground, gasping for breath, crawling to Chu Ying's legs, "Thank you, big brother, for showing mercy!"
"Get lost! You don't have the right to call me that!" Chu Ying, though merciful, kicked the tattooed man several meters away.
"Alright, alright, I'm leaving, I'm leaving!" The tattooed man, feeling relieved, called to his gang members and tried to leave.
"Stop!" Huanzi, who had come down from the roof at some point, shouted loudly.
A fierce glint flashed in the tattooed man's eyes, but he turned with a fawning smile, "Huan Ge, rest assured, Chu's house will never be demolished. You can live there as long as you want!"
Huanzi, a simple and honest man, saw that the matter was resolved and didn't pursue it further, just coldly humming, "Alright, you can go."
"The house still needs to be demolished," Chu Ying said calmly.
Everyone present was stunned by this.
The tattooed man was secretly pleased and returned to Chu Ying, "This... this guy understands. Ten thousand yuan, just as Huan Ge said before. I'll report to the boss right away!"
Their task was to use any means necessary to make the stubborn residents comply. If they encountered someone they couldn't handle, they could take a small loss, which was within the tattooed man's tolerance, as the money wasn't coming out of his pocket.
"However, the price needs to be changed," Chu Ying said calmly.
The tattooed man was angry but knew he couldn't handle the person in front of him. He gritted his teeth, "How much? Tell me, and I'll report it to the boss!"
Chu Ying nodded, satisfied with the result, "Ten thousand yuan per square meter, cash on delivery, and then we'll demolish the house!"
