That afternoon, Hailong brought Li Guohui to the small fishing village. In the evening, the group lit torches on the beach and sat in a circle around the fire, welcoming Li Guohui. When Hailong brought Li Guohui to the beach, he introduced him to everyone. However, the group did not seem as happy as Hailong had expected; instead, they looked quite disappointed. Hailong noticed that everyone's gaze was fixed on Li Guohui's lame leg and understood what was going on. He exchanged a glance with Li Guohui, who also felt the group's disdain and nodded lightly to Hailong, who understood.
Liu Yongquan had a straightforward personality. When he first saw Li Guohui, he felt somewhat disdainful. "Why did you bring a cripple to teach us how to kill? We are all preparing to stand on our own in the future for the boss. You, a cripple, coming to be our coach is just a waste of our time. I really don't understand how you convinced the boss," Liu Yongquan said to Hailong, growing increasingly angry.
Hailong glanced at Li Guohui and said with a smile, "If you don't believe in him, let's have a match. He can beat you even with his lame leg."
Li Guohui, leaning on a cane, came to the center of the field, threw the cane to the ground, and stood there with his lame leg, saying, "Thanks to Hailong for recommending me to be your coach. Today is our first meeting. To ensure that you all will follow my training schedule in the future, I will have a match with you. This way, you won't doubt me and delay the boss's plans."
Everyone looked at each other, surprised that a middle-aged cripple would dare to challenge a group of reckless teenagers. Liu Yongquan was the first to step forward, saying eagerly, "Sir, don't blame me if I hurt you."
To everyone's surprise, Liu Yongquan was quite polite, which Li Guohui appreciated. He said with a smile, "Come on, dealing with someone like you only takes one hand."
Liu Yongquan, who had been trying to be polite, was instantly enraged by Li Guohui's words. He lunged forward and threw a punch, but in the next moment, amidst the group's gasps, Liu Yongquan found himself pinned to the ground, his arm locked by Li Guohui. If Li Guohui had used more force, Liu Yongquan's arm would have broken. Li Guohui said with a smile, "Kid, how about that? Convinced?"
Liu Yongquan was extremely frustrated. He had relied on his youth and strength to overpower Li Guohui, but instead, he was suddenly taken down. What was even more frustrating was that he didn't even know how he ended up on the ground. Although he didn't know, the onlookers saw clearly that as Liu Yongquan threw a punch, Li Guohui suddenly bent and jumped into Liu Yongquan's embrace, grabbed his wrist as his arm came down, and used the momentum to lock Liu Yongquan's arm and pin him to the ground.
Seeing Li Guohui's clean and swift movements, everyone couldn't help but cheer. After releasing Liu Yongquan, Li Guohui waved to the group with a smile. He returned to Hailong's side, and Hailong said, "I didn't misjudge you; your skills are indeed impressive."
Liu Yongquan, despite his disheveled appearance, was not discouraged. He got up from the ground and sat next to Li Guohui, asking, "How did you do that? I tried to hit you, but you easily overpowered me."
Seeing Liu Yongquan's diligence and lack of resentment, Li Guohui liked him even more. He said with a hearty laugh, "What I used just now is the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu commonly used on the battlefields in Myanmar. When you threw a punch, according to the principles of human anatomy, your forearm naturally bent to maximize your strength. However, at that moment, I dodged into your embrace and grabbed your arm, then used the momentum of your punch to pull you down. Your arm was already moving downward, and with my help, it moved even faster, surpassing your brain's reaction time. Before you could react, I locked your arm and overpowered you. However, what I used was a modified version for mercenaries, usually to subdue enemies. The standard Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu involves dodging into the enemy's embrace when they swing a knife, then pulling their arm down and stabbing them in the stomach."
Liu Yongquan, amazed by the deadly technique, was overjoyed and said, "Boss, the coach you found is amazing. I want to learn from him."
Hailong smiled and said, "Would I pick someone who isn't good?"
Liu Yongan, curious, asked, "Coach, how did you get your leg injured? It seems quite serious."
Li Guohui said with a smile, "I just returned from Myanmar last month. I was injured in battle, which is why I came back."
The group, all young and full of passion, had once fantasized about going to war. Hearing Li Guohui's war stories, they immediately gathered around him to listen.
Li Guohui glanced at Hailong, who didn't mind him taking the spotlight and was also eager to hear his story. He cleared his throat and said, "Back then, I was a top special forces soldier in our city. After leaving the military, I became a mercenary in Myanmar. I served as a mercenary for five years. My injured leg was shot by a sniper. The Kachin State in Myanmar has always been at odds with the government, and the two sides often fight for various reasons. We were hired by certain families to participate in the conflicts. In my last battle, I fought for the Kachin State against the Myanmar government. The government, for some reason, was thoroughly enraged and sent 50,000 troops to crush the Kachin forces. The Kachin State had no choice but to hire special forces to help them. During one engagement with the government troops, I discovered that they had sent many snipers. I, too, was a sniper. There were three of them, and only one of me. My team was continuously targeted by their snipers, and I managed to kill two of them. However, the third one was very skilled. After several failed attempts to kill him, he almost killed me. It was a test of endurance and willpower. Unfortunately, the government had many more men, while we were just a mercenary team. The longer it dragged on, the more disadvantageous it became for us. In desperation, I had to take the initiative. At that moment, he shot my left leg, and I shot his head."
Hearing this, the group was in awe. They never imagined that their coach was a sniper and that their boss had found such a capable person to train them. They were overjoyed.
Seeing their happy faces, Hailong secretly smiled and said, "You guys are happy now, but wait until tomorrow when he starts training you. Let's see if you can still be so happy."
That night, Li Guohui told his story until late. At Hailong's persuasion, the group finally dispersed. They discussed the training schedule with Li Guohui, and Hailong decided to reduce the frequency of crab catching, going out to sea only twice a week on weekends. From Monday to Friday, they would undergo intense training. Hailong required Li Guohui to train the group into qualified soldiers within half a year, and Li Guohui agreed.
The next morning, Hailong informed the group about the change in the crab-catching schedule. The group was eager to learn from Li Guohui and had no interest in catching crabs. They were even more delighted to hear Hailong's announcement. However, when the training began, they were stunned.
Running, endless running, muscle training, endless muscle training. For three consecutive days, Hailong joined the group in the training. Since it was the seven-day holiday for National Day, Hailong decided to use this time to train his body, setting an example as their leader.
By the third night, the group could no longer bear it and said to Hailong, "Boss, the coach's training is too intense. We can't take it anymore." Seeing their miserable faces, Hailong said with a smile, "If you can't handle a little hardship, how can you stand on your own for me? Besides, I'm also enduring it. Here's a deal: if you all pass the physical training, and I don't, I'll take you all to the Lishui Palace in Donghai City for two days. If I pass and you don't, I'll deduct half your salary as a fund for future activities. What do you think?"
Hearing about the salary deduction, the group immediately perked up, shouting that they would make sure the boss took them to the Lishui Palace and wouldn't let him deduct their salaries. These guys had been spending a lot lately, and they couldn't afford to have their salaries cut.
Seeing their enthusiasm, Hailong laughed heartily. They were just kids. If he really deducted their salaries, he wouldn't have the heart to do it.
For seven consecutive days, Hailong also suffered. On the eighth day, when he said goodbye to the group before going to class, he thought they would be upset that he was leaving them to enjoy his life. However, seeing the smiles on their faces, he knew they were relieved that he wouldn't be training with them, which meant his physical condition wouldn't be better than theirs, and he couldn't deduct their salaries. Moreover, he would have to take them to the Lishui Palace. Seeing their happy faces, Hailong said with a smile, "Don't think I don't know what you're up to. I'll continue to train even at school. If I find any of you not up to par, I'll deduct half your salary. Got it?"
The group, caught in their schemes, felt embarrassed but quickly said, "Boss, don't worry. We won't let any of our brothers down. We'll make sure everyone meets the coach's requirements." Hearing this, Hailong was satisfied and said, "Alright, I'm off. I'll be back on the weekend." Then he got into the car and left.
The intense training had made Hailong forget his longing for Hu Jing. Now, with nothing to do, he sat in the classroom, bored with the teacher's lecture, and started to miss Hu Jing. He picked up the phone and called her, saying, "How was your National Day? Are you free for dinner tonight?"
During the holiday, Hu Jing had gone home to help her brother with his wedding. Her brother had just gotten married. Seeing that it was Hailong calling, she said happily, "It was great. Why not go out for a big meal tonight? Let's go together after school."
They met at the 1913 Coffee Shop. After dinner, Hailong closed his eyes and lounged on the sofa. Seeing his relaxed appearance, Hu Jing asked curiously, "Have you been very tired lately? You look so relaxed now."
Hailong said with a sigh, "Yes, very tired, both physically and mentally. One wrong move and everything is lost. I feel like a gambler, betting with the most important things I have." Hailong was risking his life, and if he lost, he might even lose his life.
Hearing this, Hu Jing was confused and said, "I don't understand what you mean, but if you have any difficulties, remember to tell me. If I can help, I will do my best."
Hailong said with a smile, "Really?" Hu Jing replied, "Of course, why would I lie? If you have something, just say it."
Hailong said with a smile, "I do have something, and I need your help."
Hu Jing, surprised, asked, "What is it?"
Hailong said with a smile, "I want to see you smile. Seeing your smile makes all my worries disappear."
Hu Jing blushed and said coyly, "You're so naughty, asking for such a thing."
Hailong said playfully, "No, you promised. Come on, give me a smile. If you don't, I'll give you one." Unable to resist Hailong's playfulness, Hu Jing calmed down and gave him a sweet smile. She was wearing a pink jacket with a white high-necked sweater inside. Her pink face and long hair, naturally falling over one shoulder, made her look especially charming. Her smile was like a room full of blooming peach blossoms, so beautiful that Hailong was almost enchanted.
After her smile, Hu Jing saw Hailong's dazed expression and laughed, lowering her head and continuing to giggle. Hailong, still in a daze, didn't react.
Hu Jing said playfully, "Hailong, what's bothering you so much? You made me sacrifice my dignity for you, and you won't tell me the truth?"
Seeing Hu Jing's playful expression, Hailong was even more enchanted and said honestly, "I've been training a lot lately, but I can't keep up. I'm very tired every day, but I made a bet with someone, and as their leader, I have to fulfill the bet."
Hu Jing sighed and said, "You just have to keep at it. Training is all about persistence. However, there is a way to build muscle quickly."
Hailong asked curiously, "What is it?"
Hu Jing said playfully, "Electroshock yourself. Haven't you seen how Bruce Lee trained?" This reminded Hailong, and he said happily, "Right, that's it. I'm so stupid."
Hu Jing quickly stopped him, saying, "Are you crazy? I was just joking. Do you think it's that easy? Didn't you see how Bruce Lee died? You can't just shock yourself randomly."
Hailong said with a laugh, "You believed me? You're so gullible." He teased her again, and Hu Jing, angry, pinched his arm hard, making Hailong gasp in pain. She said angrily, "Don't you dare bully me. See if you do it again."
Secretly, she thought, "A snake's bite, a bee's sting, neither is as venomous as a woman's heart." This girl was really fierce, pinching so hard that it turned purple.
After sending Hu Jing off, Hailong immediately took a taxi to the small fishing village and quietly went to the abandoned shipyard. He thought that Liu Yongquan and the others were probably being trained to exhaustion by Li Guohui, but they would get through it. Once their bodies adapted to the intensity, it wouldn't be as tiring.
As he walked, Hailong thought, "Hu Jing is really my lucky star. I never thought that having dinner with her would solve one of my big problems. I feel so stupid. I've watched so many Bruce Lee movies, and I was even a fan. How could I forget how he built his muscles? Although electroshock training has been proven to be harmful to the body, that's with mechanical electricity. The Dragon King releases biological electricity, and most importantly, he can control the flow of electricity."
As a creature that uses electricity for protection, Hailong's understanding of electricity far exceeded that of any scientist. He could feel the presence of electricity at all times. When the Dragon King was young, Hailong couldn't control the electricity, but after several months of bonding and the Dragon King growing to two meters in length, Hailong could now control the electricity with ease. He could easily direct the flow of electricity, and the issue of electrical stimulation causing damage to the heart and brain was not a problem for him because he wouldn't allow the electricity to reach those areas. He remembered from Bruce Lee's documentary that electroshock training was five times faster than regular training. Others would train for ten hours, but Bruce Lee only needed two hours of electroshock.
Hailong was very excited to see the effects of electroshock on his muscles. He imagined standing in front of Liu Yongquan and the others with a muscular body, and their surprised expressions made him laugh out loud.
