Yao Leilei stood at the entrance of the police station, her beautiful eyes fixed on the bastard who had made her a laughingstock among her colleagues. Thinking about what he had done to her before, she felt like killing him, especially now, as he was even staring at her chest. If it weren't for the new chief's strict reforms and promotion of civilized law enforcement over the past few months, she would have already made him suffer.
Holding the newly obtained information, Yao Leilei felt that she absolutely could not let this scum go.
Right! Scum, the one in front of her was scum! Ten years ago, he was sentenced to fifteen years for murder as a minor, and was released after ten years due to parole. He hadn't had a job for a few months after returning, so he must have been doing illegal things. She had to find out and send him back to prison.
"Name!" Yao Leilei asked coldly.
"Mu Yan!"
Mu Yan looked at the policewoman and answered honestly.
To be honest, the policewoman in front of him was really beautiful. Her delicate features were perfectly arranged on her face, giving the impression that any slight change would ruin the current beauty. Her short hair, cut to her ears, made her look especially fresh, and it matched her police uniform perfectly. As for the place he had accidentally touched, it was so outstanding that even his hand couldn't fully grasp it, which seemed a bit burdensome for her.
"What are you looking at, Mu Yan? Be honest and confess your crimes, or you'll suffer!" Yao Leilei shouted angrily, feeling his eyes moving towards her chest again.
She had just been caught for solicitation, which wasn't even a real crime, and they had brought her back as if she were a prostitute. Now, this policewoman was clearly using this to get back at her. This made Mu Yan's initial sympathy for her disappear instantly, and he felt a cold laugh inside.
"Gender!" Yao Leilei continued to ask after her angry outburst.
Mu Yan, however, asked with a half-smile, "Officer, do you have a problem with your eyes?"
"What did you say? Mu Yan, you're still being stubborn here. Do you think your bosses outside can protect you? You're here now, so it's best to confess everything, or no one can save you!" Yao Leilei threatened.
Mu Yan knew that this policewoman was either trying to extort him or get information. He noticed a file on the table, which was probably his record. Thinking about how he had stubbornly refused to listen to the old man's advice out of despair and ended up with a labor reform identity, he realized that this policewoman must have seen his record and assumed he was a criminal.
Thinking about this, Mu Yan couldn't help but find it amusing.
Yao Leilei had no idea what Mu Yan was thinking. Seeing him laugh, she assumed he was mocking her, and her anger flared up.
"Mu Yan, you won't talk, huh? Fine! It doesn't matter. I have ways to make you talk!"
"Talk about what, Leilei? Let him go!"
Just as Yao Leilei was about to start, the interrogation room door opened, and a middle-aged police officer in his forties walked in.
Yao Leilei was stunned and said, "Chief, this guy is definitely a criminal. Give me two hours, and I'll get him to talk. Even if there's nothing, he can be detained for solicitation!"
Mu Yan thought this policewoman was not an ordinary person. Her attitude made him feel like he was in the "Sino-American Cooperative Organization" in Chongqing.
The chief immediately said sternly, "Yao Leilei, didn't you hear my order? Let him go, he's not a solicitor!"
"Chief, how do you know he's not a solicitor? As a local, why would he stay in a hotel a few kilometers away from his home in the middle of the night instead of going home?" Yao Leilei said, not believing it.
Zhang Huangyan knew Yao Leilei was right. He didn't believe it either at first, but after learning about the woman's background, he knew he was in big trouble. He had just been sweeping for prostitution, but how did he end up catching this person? Thinking about it, he realized that the woman should have gone to a high-end place, not a small hotel. But then again, who in those big hotels didn't know her? It was safer in a small hotel. He blamed his bad luck and hoped she wouldn't pursue it.
"Chief Zhang, why aren't you answering?" Yao Leilei saw Zhang Huangyan not speaking and assumed he had no answer, making her even more confident.
Zhang Huangyan knew he couldn't reveal the woman's background, or he would be in serious trouble. Yao Leilei was a smart girl and usually kept her mouth shut, but she was still a girl and loved gossip. Who knew if she would talk? If the news leaked, he would be in big trouble. He was about to be promoted and couldn't afford any mishaps. If he offended this person, he might not even be able to keep his job.
Thinking about this, Zhang Huangyan's face turned serious. "Yao Leilei, are you still a police officer? Just because you had a little setback, you want to take it out on others. What did you learn in police school? Do you even understand the basic principle of following orders?"
Although Zhang Huangyan was from a humble background, he was a smooth talker, always friendly to his subordinates and superiors. He had always been lenient with Yao Leilei, a beautiful woman, which made her naturally disregard his authority. Now, seeing him suddenly so strict, she felt wronged. Thinking about how she had been taken advantage of and was still blamed, her eyes turned red.
"Chief Zhang, right? Officer Yao is actually not that bad. She's young and just out of police school, so she doesn't understand many things. Don't scold her!" Mu Yan, seeing this, said a few kind words.
Mu Yan was genuinely trying to be kind, but Yao Leilei didn't see it that way. She felt he was deliberately mocking her. Thinking about it, she felt she had no face to stay and stomped out.
Seeing Yao Leilei leave, Zhang Huangyan sighed. "I wish I could let you do as you please, but because of that person, I have no choice. I'll have to make it up to her later."
"Chief Zhang, can I go now?" Mu Yan asked.
"Oh, I already said, Mr. Mu, we made a mistake. You can leave anytime!" Zhang Huangyan said politely to Mu Yan.
In fact, Zhang Huangyan knew he had to be polite. Although he knew Mu Yan had just been released a few months ago, he didn't know how he had become that person's man. But since things were like this, he couldn't afford to offend him.
"Thank you!" Mu Yan smiled and then limped slightly out of the police station. As he walked out, he saw a Bentley parked nearby.
