Back home, it was already eight in the morning.
Mufangfang was doing laundry when she saw her son return and immediately asked with concern, "Xiaoyan, where have you been all night? I was so worried! I called you, but your phone was off. What's going on with Wenwen? Did she refuse?"
Seeing her son return after a whole night out, Mufangfang instinctively felt that things might not have gone well yesterday, and that it had even touched a sore spot, causing him to stay out all night.
Xiaoyan, however, smiled and said, "My phone was dead, and I made you worry. But about Wenwen, she is indeed a good girl, and she agreed to be my girlfriend!"
"Really!" Mufangfang exclaimed happily, her somewhat aged face lighting up with a smile.
"Wenwen is a good girl. When she first came to school, I thought it would be great if she could become my daughter-in-law. In the past, you weren't ambitious and didn't even have a job, so I never dared to mention it. I never thought it would actually happen!" Mufangfang, overjoyed, blurted out her thoughts.
Xiaoyan was delighted to hear this. It seemed his mother had her eye on Wenwen from the beginning. But Wenwen was indeed a good girl. Thinking about it, he realized he had never liked a girl as much as he did now. Even when he was with Yuting, it was just a vague affection between teenagers, nothing like the real feelings he had now.
Xiaoyan went to his room, plugged in his phone charger, and turned it on. He saw that his mother had indeed called many times last night. Additionally, Wenwen had sent him two more messages about ten minutes ago. But there was one call that made Xiaoyan's lips curl into a smile. He then typed out a message composed entirely of letters and numbers, which looked like random key presses, and sent it.
After sending the message, Xiaoyan finally read Wenwen's messages. Though they were simple greetings, he felt a sweet warmth in his heart and immediately replied.
Seeing her son with his phone, a smile on his face, Mufangfang knew he was probably texting Wenwen and felt even happier.
A little while later, Xiaoyan put down his phone and said, "Mom, I won't be eating at home for lunch. Wenwen and I have plans to eat out!"
"That's fine. By the way, Xiaoyan, do you have money? I have a few hundred yuan; you can take it. It's your first official date with Wenwen, so be generous!" Mufangfang said with concern.
"Mom, I have enough money. Don't worry!" Xiaoyan replied.
Hearing this, Mufangfang didn't press further. Over the past few months, though she knew her son often went to bars, she had never seen him short of money. She instinctively thought his father must have given him some money, so she didn't ask more.
Xiaoyan had a secret account. A long time ago, during a mission, a few friends set it up for him. He had never withdrawn any money from it, but he knew there was a lot, at least not less than the thirty million from yesterday.
Xiaoyan didn't touch the money in the account not because he was particularly high-minded and didn't want to spend it, but because using that account would bring him a lot of trouble. Besides, he had enough money on him.
Of course, the money Xiaoyan had was earned. As a member of the Dark Wolf's Fang, he received financial support from the state for each mission. Over the past ten years, he had accumulated several million, enough for his living. For people like the Dark Wolf, who lived on the edge of death every day, the state wouldn't neglect them. They would at least make them feel secure, so they wouldn't worry about their families being poor and bullied. This was unrealistic and only appeared in some low-quality literary works. If it were true, it would only increase the likelihood of these carefully trained talents betraying the state. For example, even though the leader had left, his family would still live comfortably.
If it weren't for the difficulty in explaining the source of the money, Xiaoyan would have liked to buy his mother a better house and a car, so she could live a more comfortable life.
After changing his clothes and tidying up, Xiaoyan went out.
He withdrew some money and arrived at a better mall.
It was almost ten minutes before the agreed time, but when Lin Tianyang arrived, he found the girl in a pink dress, her hair gently swaying in the breeze, already waiting there.
She was so sweet that people entering and leaving the mall, regardless of gender, couldn't help but turn to look at her.
"Wenwen! I kept you waiting," Xiaoyan ran over.
"Brother Yan, I just got here too. I came a bit early!" Seeing Xiaoyan, Zhou Wenwen also smiled sweetly.
Just like yesterday, the two held hands and walked into the mall. Zhou Wenwen was beautiful, and Xiaoyan was handsome and suave. In the eyes of others, they were a perfect match.
Of course, carrying the bags was still Xiaoyan's job, but there wasn't much, so it wasn't tiring.
After shopping, Xiaoyan took Zhou Wenwen to the restaurant where Zhang Shuo had taken him before. It was close to the mall and had a nice environment, which Xiaoyan liked.
Since it was Sunday, there were many people. The two found an empty couple's table in the first-floor hall and sat down.
Xiaoyan handed the menu to Zhou Wenwen, who took a long time to order four dishes and a soup. Xiaoyan noticed that they were all economical and practical, and the total cost was at most a hundred yuan. He understood that Wenwen was a girl who knew how to manage her finances.
Soon, the dishes arrived. Just as they were about to start eating, a voice came from behind.
"Teacher Zhou, what a coincidence!"
Xiaoyan turned around and saw a man in his early twenties smiling and walking over. Two others were behind him, but when they saw Xiaoyan, their eyes flashed with a hint of hostility.
Xiaoyan, being who he was, noticed the brief flash of hostility, which didn't escape his eyes. He saw the way the man looked at Zhou Wenwen and knew that this guy was probably one of her suitors.
"Teacher Jiang, it's you!" Zhou Wenwen greeted the man.
Hearing this, Xiaoyan was even more certain of his guess. But thinking about it, Wenwen was indeed outstanding, so it was normal for someone to like her. Now that she was his girlfriend, he didn't need to worry.
