When he arrived at the company, it was already afternoon. As soon as Muyan walked into the paper-walled fortress, he heard Tong Ling say to him, "Muyan, you finally came to work. We thought you and Manager Zhong had both gone missing."

Muyan knew that Zhong Jiaqiang's absence was due to his real disappearance, while his own was because of the overwhelming issues. He walked to Zhong Jiaqiang's former position and sat down directly.

Seeing Muyan sitting in the manager's seat with his legs crossed, Tong Ling was really disappointed but still kindly said, "Muyan, Secretary Hu called for you again this morning! She also called yesterday when you left. I told her you had an emergency at home and had to go back. Be careful when you go in."

"Secretary Hu? Which Secretary Hu?" Muyan asked, puzzled.

"It's Secretary Hu Ting, the top secretary to the president!" Tong Ling couldn't help but shake her head again, knowing that Secretary Hu was a person close to the president, with a status not lower than that of a department manager.

Hearing that the so-called Secretary Hu was someone close to Yu Jing, Muyan knew it must be Yu Jing who was looking for him. He jumped off the chair and immediately ran out.

He had promised his mother that he would soon become a manager. His mother was still recovering, and he couldn't break his word. Given his relationship with Yu Jing, she would surely make room for him. If that didn't work, since Zhong Jiaqiang was no longer around, he could temporarily take over as the underground manager.

As he stepped out of the elevator, Muyan immediately heard someone calling him. He turned around and saw the security guard responsible for that floor.

"No, you can't go through!" The security guard, who had been reprimanded by Yu Jing before for letting this person in, was determined not to let Muyan in again.

Muyan found it strange. If Yu Jing had called him, why was he being stopped? Everything had been fine when he was celebrating Yuxi's birthday. Could it be that she had changed her mind after just two days? The thought made Muyan angry. If she was playing with him, he wouldn't play along. He coldly snorted, "It's you who won't let me in," and walked away.

Just as Muyan entered the elevator, Hu Ting came out of the office and casually asked the security guard, "What was all that shouting about just now?"

"Secretary Hu, the person who the president strictly prohibited from entering this floor came again. He was shouting that the president wanted to see him, so I sent him away!" The security guard said, as if he had accomplished a great feat.

Hu Ting immediately understood that the person was Muyan. She had been ordered by the president to call Muyan several times over the past two days, but she didn't know why. Now that he had come, he had been driven away by this guard. Hu Ting was furious and angrily said, "He said the president wanted to see him, and you didn't even confirm it? How do you know the president wasn't really looking for him? Go and bring him back immediately, or don't come here tomorrow!"

The security guard, realizing that the president was indeed looking for the guy, quickly ran out.

Muyan had just returned to the basement when the security guard found him. After listening to him for a while, Muyan realized that it wasn't Yu Jing playing with him but that he had been stopped because of Yu Jing's previous order.

Hearing this, Muyan felt a mix of amusement and frustration. When the security guard said he would lose his job if he didn't go, Muyan had no choice but to go back with him.

Walking into the president's office, Muyan indeed saw Yu Jing busy with her computer. Sitting at her desk, she seemed to have regained her queenly demeanor. She didn't show any expression when she saw Muyan. After signing a document, she said, "Sit down, Hu Ting, get him a glass of water!"

Muyan sat in the chair in front of Yu Jing's desk. After Hu Ting handed him a glass of water, she left at Yu Jing's signal.

With no one else around, Muyan immediately relaxed and asked with a smile, "How is your foot? How is Yuxi?"

Yu Jing, who had been somewhat annoyed that Muyan hadn't come to work properly and had only shown up after she called him for two days, softened when he mentioned Yuxi. She thought of that night, and the ice on her face melted a bit. "It's much better, but it still hurts a bit when I walk. Yuxi misses you. It's more than a week until Children's Day, so..."

"I'll go back to be with her!" Muyan immediately agreed before Yu Jing could finish.

I told her that our company's great president, Yu Jing, has a keen eye for talent and immediately recognized my exceptional abilities, so she's going to promote me to manager. That made her feel better."

Hearing that Muyan had linked his promotion to his mother's situation, Yu Jing couldn't help but laugh. After a moment, she said, "Since that's the case, I can't let your mother down. Zhong Jiaqiang has been absent for three days, so I'll post a notice to fire him. You can be the manager of the Resource Allocation Department."
