"Xiao Yan, you don't need to keep calling me 'Old Chief.' Since you and Wenwen are a couple now, just call me Uncle Yao. After you get married, you can call me Dad. Let's have another drink!"

Sitting at the dining table, Yao Juzheng picked up a half-ounce glass and clinked it against Mu Yan's glass. He then drank the half-ounce of liquor, followed by eating a slice of five-spice donkey meat, looking at Mu Yan.

Mu Yan smiled and said, "Alright, from now on, I'll call you Uncle Yao!"

"That's better. I've watched you grow up, and although you can be a bit impulsive and rash at times, you're a guy with a conscience and a sense of responsibility. Now you're even more clever than before. Lei Lei will be in good hands with you!" Yao Juzheng said with a chuckle after hearing Mu Yan change his address. He then glanced at his daughter, who was pouring wine for the two men, thinking to himself, "This girl is quite well-behaved. It would be nice if she could always be like this."

Yao Leilei, though she appeared calm while pouring the wine, was actually very nervous inside.

The old and the young man talked about many things at the table. She only then learned what Mu Yan had been doing for the past ten years and how capable he was. As the daughter of the former commander of the Dark Wolf unit, Yao Leilei naturally knew a bit about this unit and had always admired the people in it. Her two brothers had wanted to join but were only qualified to be reserve members for a few years before moving on to other places.

She knew how capable her two brothers were, as most of her martial arts skills were learned from them. Even so, they were only reserve members, while Mu Yan was not only a true member of the Dark Wolf unit but also the Wolf Tooth, the most skilled in single combat among the four named members—Wolf Claw, Wolf Tooth, Wolf Ear, and Wolf Head.

Back then, she had wanted to meet these people, but she never expected that the Wolf Tooth would be Mu Yan.

Realizing that Mu Yan knew her father, Yao Leilei knew she had definitely misunderstood him. After hearing so many things about him and learning that he was the Wolf Tooth, she felt a bit regretful deep down.

Now she knew that Mu Yan and Zhou Wenwen being together was not a deliberate deception, but she had foolishly broken them up. Not only that, when Mu Yan came to her door, her father found out that she had let this guy take advantage of her. Now, her father had directly paired them up, and Mu Yan had even agreed. Could it be that he really liked her?

Thinking of this, Yao Leilei couldn't help but look Mu Yan up and down.

Before, she thought this guy was no good, so she never found him appealing. Now, she saw that Mu Yan was not only handsome and strong but also had a rugged and manly charm.

Yao Leilei suddenly remembered how she had been bullied by him. Thinking of that night, she used to feel uncomfortable whenever she thought about it, but now, she felt a burning sensation on her face, as if she were blushing.

Yao Leilei didn't know why she felt this way, but in Yao Juzheng's eyes, this was a girl's affection for her lover. He sighed to himself, "Girls grow up so fast!"

Perhaps because both of them had been away from the army for too long, they both started reminiscing about the old days, and in the end, both Mu Yan and Yao Juzheng were drunk.

By midnight, Yao Leilei helped her father to bed.

Returning to the living room, she saw that Mu Yan was already asleep on the sofa, snoring softly.

Yao Leilei shook her head, looking at the sleeping Mu Yan. She then ran into the room and took out a blanket to cover him.

Just then, Mu Yan's phone rang.

Yao Leilei took it out and saw that it was Mu Yan's mother calling.

Yao Leilei hadn't been at No. 7 Middle School for long, but she knew Mu Yan's mother and had met her twice.

Yao Leilei knew that his mother was calling because she was worried that her son hadn't come home. After some thought, she answered the call.

"Xiao Yan, it's already late at night. Why haven't you come home? You should at least give me a message!" Mu Fangfang's slightly reproachful voice came through the phone.

Hearing Mu Fangfang's voice, Yao Leilei took a deep breath and said, "Teacher Mu? Mu Yan had a bit of a drink with my dad and fell asleep. He probably won't be able to come home tonight."

Mu Fangfang, hearing that a girl was answering the phone and recognizing the voice, asked in confusion, "Young lady, who are you?"

Yao Leilei, hearing Mu Fangfang's question, thought for a moment and replied, "Teacher Mu, I'm Yao Leilei. We've met at school."

"What? You're Yao Leilei! Why is Xiao Yan at your place?" Mu Fangfang exclaimed in surprise.

Zhou Wenwen had finally returned to work after a few days off. When Mu Fangfang saw her, she noticed that Wenwen seemed off and was even avoiding her. This made the sensitive Mu Fangfang worried, thinking that there might be a conflict between her son and Wenwen. She then asked a familiar teacher from the second year and learned that her son seemed to have a past with the new music teacher, Yao Leilei. This shocked Mu Fangfang, so she had been waiting for her son to come home and ask him. Now, she learned that her son had gone directly to someone else's house and even drank with their father, which confirmed the rumors! Thinking that Wenwen, such a good girl, couldn't be her daughter-in-law, Mu Fangfang felt a pang of sadness.

At the dinner table, Yao Leilei had heard Mu Yan say that he hadn't told his mother about joining the Dark Wolf unit to avoid worrying her, so she still thought he was a former convict.

Now, with Mu Fangfang asking, Yao Leilei found it hard to answer. After some thought, she said, "I just moved, and Mu Yan came to help. After we finished, he had a bit too much to drink. I'm really sorry, Teacher Mu. I should have stopped them."

Hearing Yao Leilei's polite response, Mu Fangfang sighed but said, "It's fine. By the way, Teacher Yao, I heard you've left the school?"

Yao Leilei thought for a moment. Since the matter at No. 7 Middle School was settled, she decided to be honest. "Teacher Mu, I'm actually not a teacher. I'm a police officer. I was an undercover agent for the case at No. 7 Middle School. But please don't tell anyone else!"

Hearing that Yao Leilei was a police officer and that Fang Yongcheng and others were arrested because of her, Mu Fangfang felt a deep respect for her. Though she was initially unhappy about her son's situation, this Yao Leilei seemed to be a good person. If her son really liked her, she couldn't stop them, especially since he had already met her father. The only thing was that it was a bit unfair to Wenwen!

After some thought, Mu Fangfang said kindly, "Since that's the case, I'll call you Leilei. Don't call me Teacher Mu; just call me Auntie!"
