Two days later, Yang Yu's injuries had healed to about seventy percent. At the same time, he had cultivated five strands of purple true qi in his dantian. As it circulated, Yang Yu felt his strength surging.
After Wang Jiao left that day, she stopped her little tricks. Yang Yu called home to check, and the supermarket's supplies had been replenished, with no significant losses. It seemed that his harsh words that day had indeed intimidated Wang Jiao, though he didn't know how long it would last. However, Yang Yu was already prepared for everything.
And today.
Liu Zhengming had returned. As soon as he got back, he invited Yang Yu to Chunyu Villa. There was no way Yang Yu could refuse an elder's invitation, especially since Liu Xueyao had already given him a heads-up a few days ago. He wasn't surprised by the sudden invitation. Moreover, he was genuinely grateful to know that it was Old Master Liu who had resolved his troubles.
Yang Yu hailed a taxi and headed to Chunyu Villa. Upon returning to this familiar place, he sensed a solemn and deadly atmosphere. The forest at the entrance of the villa complex had been completely flattened at some point, and he even saw a few black swans in the tranquil lake.
He arrived.
Yang Yu got out of the car and was about to enter when another car pulled up beside him. This was Chunyu Villa, so the car must belong to one of Liu Zhengming's guests.
Yang Yu didn't rush in and waited for the person in the car. The car door didn't open, but the window slowly rolled down, revealing a face of breathtaking beauty.
"Beautiful!" Yang Yu was momentarily lost in admiration.
The woman also saw Yang Yu and frowned, clearly uncomfortable with his overt gaze.
The woman opened the car door, and a pair of exquisitely slender legs stepped out first, followed by a slender waist, a full chest, flowing long hair, and a pair of captivating eyes.
"Hello!" Yang Yu tried to compose himself.
Humans are drawn to beauty, and Yang Yu was no exception. However, he felt a bit ashamed for being so forward. Sometimes, pretending to be a gentleman is a necessary skill for a successful man.
Yang Yu was very proactive, but the woman ignored him and walked straight toward Chunyu Villa, leaving him feeling utterly dejected. He was being ignored, but he didn't hesitate and quickly followed, curious about why this woman was here.
As they entered.
They saw Liu Zhengming sitting in a recliner, basking in the sun. He was reading a book and sipping tea, not at all like someone on the brink of death.
"Miss Tang, you've come. It's truly troublesome for you to travel so far to see someone like me who is beyond saving. It's all that old man Tie's fault. I'll find time to apologize to you." Liu Zhengming stood up.
Yang Yu, who was behind, couldn't help but laugh. Liu Zhengming was quite slippery. From his words, it was clear he was trying to owe Miss Tang a favor. The phrase "find time" was laughable, given how little time he had left.
"Old Master Liu, Grandpa Tie and the Tang family have a deep relationship. I have to give him face. Since I've agreed to treat you, I won't hide anything. However, whether it works or not, I can only do my best."
Liu Zhengming nodded. "Thank you, Miss Tang. Please, come in."
This Miss Tang was actually a doctor, which Yang Yu found hard to believe. She was so young, probably around his age. Could someone so young really have such advanced medical skills? He hoped she wouldn't harm the old man.
Since Liu Xueyao wasn't there, as Liu Zhengming's future grandson-in-law, Yang Yu felt it was his duty to warn her. "Hey, Miss Tang, can you really treat people? I don't see it. At your age, aren't you still in medical school? Human lives are at stake. Treating people casually is like murder."
After Yang Yu spoke, Tang Wei fixed her icy gaze on him. He felt a chill to his core. Could she really be a quack, and he had hit the nail on the head?
"Do you not believe in my medical skills?" Tang Wei glared at Yang Yu.
"Without seeing them, how can I believe? You're a stranger. What if you're a fraud? So, please, Miss Tang, explain in detail."
Tang Wei's expression was cold and frosty. "All I can tell you is that my name is Tang Wei. As for the rest, you're not worthy to know. If Old Master Liu doesn't want me to treat him, he can find someone else. But I can tell you plainly that in this world, if I can't cure a disease, no one else can."
Tang Wei!
Yang Yu was speechless. Tang Wei was incredibly proud, a pride that radiated from her very core, something not many people could possess. She was very confident in her medical skills.
"Miss Tang, ignore that boy. Treat me quickly!" Liu Zhengming shot a glance at Yang Yu, silently scolding him for his impertinence. He was a man on the brink of death; a little treatment wouldn't hurt. What business was it of a young man like him?
Tang Wei didn't say anything, just gently placed her hand on Liu Zhengming's pulse. Her frown deepened, and her brows eventually knitted together.
Seeing Tang Wei's expression, Yang Yu began to believe in her skills. She was likely a divine doctor; otherwise, she wouldn't have such a serious expression.
After a moment.
Tang Wei sighed deeply. "If I had met you a month ago, I could have extended your life by three years. If I had met you half a month ago, I could have given you one more year. If I had met you a week ago, I could have given you three more months. But now, I can only give you one more month. Your liver is almost completely necrotic. If I hadn't come today, you would have died within three days."
"One month!" Liu Zhengming was not disappointed but surprised.
Since he fell ill, he had consulted the best doctors in Jinghai City, and none of them could help. He had resigned himself to a few days of life, but now he could live for another month.
"Yes, if my ancestor were still alive, he might have been able to reverse your fate and extend your life by ten years. But things are different now. My skills are only a fraction of his, and this is all I can do." Tang Wei sighed, her cold, frosty face showing a hint of seriousness.
Yang Yu was the most surprised. Who was this girl? Not only was she incredibly beautiful, but she also possessed such extraordinary medical skills.
"A month is not bad. Miss Tang, start the treatment. I won't doubt anyone recommended by Old Iron." Liu Zhengming smiled.
Tang Wei didn't waste words, as she rarely spoke.
A delicate gray leather bag appeared in Tang Wei's hand, and Yang Yu didn't see where she had taken it from. The bag opened, revealing a row of needles. Soon, Yang Yu realized these were not ordinary needles.
He counted carefully.
Nine gold needles and thirty-six silver needles.
The longest gold needle was over 20 centimeters, possibly even longer. The other eight were of varying lengths but not by much. The thirty-six silver needles were all the same length, neatly arranged in the leather bag.
"It's starting!"
Tang Wei warned, first picking up the longest gold needle. In a plum blossom formation with one hand, she inserted the needle into Liu Zhengming's heart before he could react.
"Damn!" Yang Yu couldn't help but curse. It was too bold. Although he knew nothing about medicine, he knew where the heart was and its importance. Was this woman trying to kill Liu Zhengming?
Thinking that Liu Zhengming was already close to death, Yang Yu didn't act rashly but closely watched Liu Zhengming. Soon, he realized he was wrong. Old Master Liu showed no signs of pain; instead, he let out a few comfortable groans, and his complexion became much rosier.
Amazing, truly amazing!
The treatment lasted about half an hour. Tang Wei used three gold needles and fifteen silver needles, each inserted into vital points that could be fatal. Yet, Old Master Liu was still alive and well, and Yang Yu could feel his life force growing stronger.
"That's all I can do. I've awakened your last bit of life potential. You should be able to live for one more month. If you have any unfulfilled wishes, complete them quickly." Tang Wei said, quickly putting away the silver needles, and the gray leather bag disappeared.
"Thank you." Liu Zhengming said gratefully, then instructed a servant, "Take Miss Tang inside for tea. I need to prepare a letter, and I hope you can deliver it to Old Man Tie."
Tang Wei didn't refuse, nodding. "Alright, but please be quick."
Liu Zhengming understood and turned to Yang Yu. "Stop staring. Follow me upstairs; I have something to discuss with you."
