After getting out of the car, Yang Yu hurriedly wiped the sweat from his forehead. It wasn't just because of the dinosaur, but more so because of dealing with the yellow-haired youth. He suddenly realized that becoming a martial arts master wasn't as simple as he thought.
"Damn, looks like I need to be more careful when fighting others in the future. One wrong move and I might end up in trouble," Yang Yu thought to himself. Then he looked at the two bags of fruit in his hands and walked resolutely toward Han Hu's residence.
He quickly arrived at Han Hu's place. It was a two-bedroom, one-living room, one-kitchen, one-bathroom apartment, which cost 2,000 yuan per month, relatively cheap in Jinghai City. Han Hu and Sun Xiaoran had already been living together, and one of the bedrooms was now used for storing miscellaneous items.
As soon as he opened the door, Yang Yu saw Sun Xiaoran wearing an apron. She was a typical southern Chinese woman, petite and charming. Although she wasn't as beautiful as Liu Xuerao in his mind, she was definitely considerate, and Han Hu was lucky to have her.
"Sister-in-law, it's been a while. Come, let's hug," Yang Yu said as he entered.
"Hmph, go hug Hu Zi!" Sun Xiaoran held a spatula in front of Yang Yu. Seeing the greasy surface, Yang Yu immediately retracted his bear hug.
"Fei Zi, don't tease Xiaoran," Han Hu rushed out, pulling Yang Yu into the bedroom. Sun Xiaoran picked up the two bags of fruit from the floor and brought them inside reluctantly.
Inside the bedroom.
Yang Yu looked at Han Hu and couldn't help but smile foolishly, which startled Han Hu.
"Fei Zi, you're not really thinking of making a move on Xiaoran, are you?" Han Hu asked suspiciously.
Yang Yu was taken aback. How could he think of such nonsense? He was currently thinking about how to convince Han Hu to join the sect. So he immediately said, "What are you thinking? Didn't I tell you yesterday? How could I make a move on Xiaoran? But I do have something to discuss with you."
"What is it?" Han Hu was a bit puzzled.
"It's like this. I've established a sect. Do you have any interest in becoming a disciple?" Yang Yu said hesitantly.
"Fei Zi, stop joking. What sect did you establish, Emei or Shaolin? Do you think this is a video game?" Han Hu waved his hand, showing no interest.
"Huatian Sect, the great Huatian Sect. I am now the sect leader of Huatian Sect," Yang Yu said immediately. "Hu Zi, don't disbelieve me. The Huatian Sect is no ordinary sect. I received the legacy of an immortal yesterday and have become a disciple of an immortal. Think about it, could a sect founded by an immortal disciple be simple?"
"Immortal disciple? Show me some immortal magic then," Han Hu said directly.
"Damn, I'll show you. Look, my hands are empty, right?" Yang Yu extended his hand, and suddenly a porcelain bottle appeared in his hand. "See? This porcelain bottle is what I conjured, and it's not just any ordinary thing. It contains immortal elixirs and miraculous medicines, you know?"
Yang Yu thought Han Hu would be amazed, but he just sneered, "This trick again? You used it when you confessed to Liu Xuerao for the 61st time. Back then, you conjured roses. Now, a broken bottle? What's so special about that?"
Yang Yu was stunned. He looked at Han Hu in disbelief. How could this be the same? Back then, it was a trick to deceive, and Liu Xuerao saw through it immediately. But this was real. He had just taken it from the sect leader's space to convince Han Hu. It couldn't be a trick.
"You see, you're right. This magic trick can't fool me," Han Hu said confidently.
Yang Yu was speechless. He thought for a moment and said, "Alright, wait here. I'll teach you a set of boxing techniques."
Yang Yu planned to teach Han Hu the Luohan Fist, but when he explained the movements and stances, Han Hu was just smiling foolishly, clearly not paying attention.
"Fei Zi, you're being too unrealistic. I didn't understand a single word you said. Have you been watching too much TV? Everything on TV is fictional. There's no such thing as martial arts secrets," Han Hu shook his head, signaling for Yang Yu to stop.
Yang Yu's face turned red. It seemed teaching martial arts wouldn't work. How could he convince this roommate to join the sect? He wanted to show off his martial arts, but there was no space to do so. And it was impossible to make a young man believe him.
"Looks like I can only play the emotional card," Yang Yu decided.
"Fei Zi, stop joking. It's not funny at all."
"Joking? I'm not joking. We've been brothers for four years, and our friendship is so close that we could share a pair of pants. Now, I'm asking you one more time, will you give your brother some face?"
Han Hu looked at Yang Yu in surprise, "Although it seems unrealistic, I'll give you face. How about this? You give me the position of sect leader, and I'll do everything you say. Then I'll join that sect you mentioned?"
"Huatian Sect!"
"There can only be one sect leader, and I can't give it to you. That's absolutely impossible," Yang Yu shook his head.
"Impossible? Then what can I do if I join? Deputy sect leader?"
"There's no such position as deputy sect leader. How about being the sect leader's wife?"
"Go to hell. What level can I reach if I join?"
"Outer sect disciple, a very promising outer sect disciple."
"Outer sect disciple? Is there anyone lower than me?"
"Not currently, but there will be in the future."
"How many people are in the Huatian Sect now?"
"If you join, there should be two people."
"Two people? So you're just a loner?"
...
"No choice. It's not that I can't do it; it's just that this guy is too stupid," Yang Yu was very frustrated. Just then, Sun Xiaoran's voice came from outside, announcing that dinner was ready.
"Let's go eat. I'll let you try Xiaoran's cooking," Han Hu said excitedly.
Yang Yu followed Han Hu to the living room, feeling quite depressed. He picked up the erguotou that Han Hu had been saving and took a few gulps, which improved his mood a bit.
After leaving Han Hu's residence, Yang Yu decided not to take the bus this time. He hailed a taxi and quickly arrived at his own place.
His mission had not gone well, and he returned with a defeat. Yang Yu's mood was really not good. He threw himself onto the bed and noticed the sweat-soaked clothes he had worn all day. He tossed them into the washing machine. Then he thought about the next day, when he would start his new job. He couldn't dress too casually, so he took out his other suit.
"I wonder what the work environment at Guangtian Technology Group is like. I can't be late on my first day."
Guangtian Technology Group was the job Yang Yu had found in Jinghai City, and he was quite satisfied with it. The monthly salary was 8,000 yuan, which was top-notch among his classmates. Of course, this was partly due to his academic performance. As a computer science enthusiast, he had thoroughly mastered the intricacies of computers and had worked on several projects in college. He had even hacked into the websites of several small companies.
