Chapter 4

During this period, Zhou Dahai repeatedly toasted to Jiang Tian, treating him as if he were a god of wealth. In just two short days, Jiang Tian had brought him so many good catches, especially those wild yellow croakers, which were scarce in today's market, easy to sell, and highly profitable.

Jiang Tian's alcohol tolerance wasn't very high, not that it was bad, but compared to Zhou Dahai, who was a real drinker, he was far behind. In school, when they went out to eat, they usually drank beer, and Jiang Tian could handle four or five bottles. But this white liquor was really hard to drink.

After drinking about one cup, roughly 2 ounces, Jiang Tian already felt a bit tipsy, with a burning sensation in his stomach.

Zhou Dahai drank even more, finishing the rest of the bottle. His face was flushed, and he called Jiang Tian brother.

Suddenly, Zhou Dahai lowered his voice mysteriously, "Brother Jiang, can you tell me where you got these yellow croakers?"

"Caught at sea!" Jiang Tian was puzzled.

Zhou Dahai gave him a thumbs up, "It's the fishing moratorium now, and the regulations are so strict. Brother Jiang can still go out to sea, truly remarkable! From now on, I'll follow you!"

Fishing moratorium?

Reminded by Zhou Dahai, Jiang Tian remembered that it was August, and the fishing season wouldn't open until September. This was a measure to protect marine fish.

In recent decades, due to pollution and overfishing, the yield of fishing grounds had drastically decreased. The government had issued a series of regulations to prohibit fishing during the spawning season to prevent overfishing.

Thinking about this, Jiang Tian felt ashamed. He had been so focused on making money that he had overlooked this issue.

It seemed he needed to change his strategy. Large-scale fishing was actually troublesome. During the peak fishing season, the yield could be several tons, and moving the fish from the pirate ship to the warehouse would be a complicated task, especially since such a large quantity without a ship would easily raise suspicion.

Fishing for high-value individual fish would be a better option. A few thousand or ten thousand yuan per fish would avoid overfishing and be less troublesome.

With this in mind, Jiang Tian decided to adopt a more elite approach and stop large-scale fishing.

Or, in the future, when conditions were right, he could consider going to the Hokkaido fishing grounds in Japan.

After an hour of drinking, Zhou Dahai was already a bit drunk, and Jiang Tian's stomach was also feeling uncomfortable, so he suggested ending the night.

The two of them hailed a taxi, and Jiang Tian first took Zhou Dahai home.

"Old Zhou, which one is your home?"

Jiang Tian supported Zhou Dahai, arriving at an old residential area, mostly five-story buildings.

"Uh, no problem, Brother Jiang, I can walk myself!"

Zhou Dahai entered a building, and Jiang Tian followed, half-supporting him, to the third floor.

"Knock, knock, knock!"

"Xiao Yu, Xiao Yu, open the door!" Zhou Dahai shouted.

The security door opened, revealing a girl's face. Seeing Zhou Dahai's drunken state, she said, "Dad, why did you drink so much?" and quickly helped him inside.

Zhou Dahai plopped down in a chair, "Xiao Yu, this is Uncle Jiang. Go, make Uncle Jiang some tea!"

"Uncle Jiang!" The girl called softly, very obedient, and turned to get the tea.

Jiang Tian smiled wryly. This girl was only a few years younger than him, and calling him uncle seemed a bit too respectful.

Sitting down, Zhou Dahai started chatting with Jiang Tian, his mouth never stopping.

"Uncle Jiang, have some tea!"

"Thank you!" Jiang Tian took the teacup.

Only then did he get a good look at the girl. She had long hair, dressed conservatively, but her face was clear and delicate, and she was tall, about 165 cm, with a good temperament, very quiet. It was hard to believe that Zhou Dahai, a rough man, had such a beautiful daughter.

Noticing Jiang Tian's attention, Zhou Dahai said, "Brother Jiang, my daughter has always been very obedient. She just graduated from high school, but she got accepted into Deep Sea University, impressive, right!"

"Very impressive!"

No wonder she was a bit reserved, just out of high school, still a bit shy around strangers.

Perhaps due to the alcohol, Zhou Dahai soon fell asleep.

"Come, give me a hand, help your dad to bed!"

Jiang Tian stood up; it was late, and he was also tired.

The two of them supported Zhou Dahai into the room, and then Jiang Tian left.

He took a taxi back to his place and fell asleep immediately. He had been on the boat all day, and the night's work had left him exhausted.

The next morning, Jiang Tian woke up early, his mind full of thoughts.

After washing up, he headed straight to the pet market. He planned to buy an aquarium, as the large lobster was a part of himself, and even if it was a burden, he wanted to keep it.

At the pet market, Jiang Tian looked around and found a 1.3m x 50cm x 1.5m aquarium with a nice landscape, with small artificial mountains and rocks with aquatic plants. He thought it would be suitable for the lobster.

The salesperson explained that it had a complete biological filtration system and came with various free kits, such as temperature control, oxygenation, and water conditioning kits.

The price was 3888 yuan.

Seeing Jiang Tian's interest, the salesperson added, "Sir, if you really want to buy it, I can negotiate with our manager. We can get it for around 3700 yuan!"

A few days ago, Jiang Tian didn't even have 3700 yuan to his name.

After a moment's hesitation, Jiang Tian bought it, paying in cash, as there was still a lot of cash in the pirate ship's storage room.

During this time, Jiang Tian also bought some small fish and lobster feed.

After the aquarium was delivered and installed, Jiang Tian put the small fish into the tank and then retrieved the lobster from the pirate ship's storage room.

Fortunately, it was still alive!

The lobster seemed to like its new home, quickly exploring the entire tank and climbing up the small artificial mountain.

Strangely, Jiang Tian could even feel the lobster's joy, a very peculiar connection.

In the next moment, Jiang Tian switched his consciousness to the lobster, as if he himself were a lobster.

Possession was not just being a spectator but completely controlling the lobster's body, giving him an additional form.

Jiang Tian suddenly felt that this was actually not bad. Even if people in this world had money and power, who could experience the underwater world like he did?

A small fish swam by, and Jiang Tian lunged at it, but unfortunately, the fish was too agile.

Looking at his body through the lobster's eyes, Jiang Tian felt both familiar and strange. This was the first time he had seen himself from another perspective, other than in a mirror.

It was a strange feeling!

Just as Jiang Tian was experiencing the sensation of possession, his phone rang.

Jiang Tian switched back to his consciousness, took out his phone, and it was Shen Xing.

"Hello!"

"Hey, Old Jiang, what have you been up to lately? You haven't been to the company!" Shen Xing's voice came from the other end.

"I'm better off not going, right? You have one less competitor!" Jiang Tian said. When he started at the life insurance company during the summer, Shen Xing had been captivated by a woman in the business department, around 26 or 27 years old, dressed in a professional suit with a strong presence, and she had been the top performer for three consecutive quarters.

"I've always been confident in my looks!" Shen Xing said.

"You have a family!" Jiang Tian reminded him.

"Ah, don't mention it, we just broke up yesterday!" Despite saying they had broken up, Jiang Tian couldn't detect any signs of depression. In three years of college, he had dated more girls than the other three roommates combined.

What could he do? He was tall, sunny, and handsome, and as the vice-chairman of the student council, many innocent girls fell for him like moths to a flame.

"What do you want?" Jiang Tian didn't want to waste time on this.

"Are you really not planning to continue at the life insurance company? Did you find something else?"

"Um, something easier," Jiang Tian said vaguely.

"Alright, but you need to help me tonight. A client needs to meet at 7:30 PM, but I have another client I can't leave. You go in my place. The documents are on my desk; you can pick them up when you get there. I'll send you the address."

"Okay!"
