Wang Xuewen didn't know why, but for the past ten minutes, he had felt uneasy, to the point where he couldn't even focus on the important documents in front of him.
Just then, his personal phone in his pocket suddenly rang. Seeing the number on the caller display, the frown on Wang Xuewen's face relaxed, and a smile appeared on his face.
"Little brother, why are you thinking of calling your big brother today?" Wang Xuewen said in a relaxed tone into the phone.
"Uh...! I'm sorry, the owner of the phone was in a car accident and is now being treated in the hospital!" He Dong, looking at the young man being pushed into the operating room, said into the phone he had found in the young man's pocket.
"What? My brother was in a car accident? Which hospital?" Wang Xuewen shouted in shock.
"At the City First People's Hospital!" He Dong quickly reported his current location, and as soon as he finished speaking, the call was hung up.
Twenty minutes later, after cursing the damn roads and traffic jams thousands of times, Wang Xuewen finally arrived at the hospital.
To his relief, his brother was not in any life-threatening danger. Although he needed to rest in bed due to fractures, this was the best outcome, as the doctor had said that if he hadn't been brought to the hospital in time, he might have died from blood loss alone.
It was then that he suddenly remembered the person who had called him, his brother's savior. However, the savior had already quietly left.
He Dong had done a good deed without expecting any reward, so after making the call, he felt there was no need to stay any longer and left directly.
Because of saving the person, He Dong's clothes were covered in blood, making him look quite disheveled. On his way back to school, He Dong chose to take less crowded side streets.
However, what he didn't expect was that just as he was about to reach the school, he was suddenly intercepted by five people on a rarely used side street.
These five people appeared in front of him in a minivan, and as soon as they got out of the car, they didn't say much, but immediately swung their iron bars at him.
"What's going on?" This scene, which seemed like a movie, left He Dong stunned. It wasn't until the five people were almost upon him that he suddenly came to his senses. He stepped back and shouted, "Misunderstanding! Misunderstanding!"
"There's no misunderstanding, we're here to beat you up!" The leader was a bald man, exceptionally muscular, and his attack was particularly vicious. He swung his iron bar directly at He Dong's head.
Seeing that the other party had made it clear, He Dong's face darkened. When it came to fighting, He Dong had never been afraid of anyone. Although the old He Dong was a sports idiot, he had a toughness that no one could match.
Moreover, the current He Dong had undergone a tremendous transformation. So, he quickly turned his feet, dodged the iron bar, and kicked the attacker.
He Dong's kick was sudden and fast. The bald leader didn't expect He Dong to counterattack, so he was kicked in the stomach, causing him to clutch his stomach and scream in pain.
The sudden turn of events left the other four people stunned, but they were experienced in fighting. Soon, they all showed a fierce look and raised their iron bars to attack He Dong again.
"Combine with the Giant Claw Rat!" Facing the attack, He Dong calmly shouted in his mind. Then, he dodged the attacks of three people and grabbed one of the thugs' iron bars.
The effect of combining with the Giant Claw Rat was that when He Dong grabbed the iron bar, he used his strength, and the iron bar, as thick as a water pipe, broke like straw in his hands.
He Dong's kick to the bald leader didn't scare the four thugs, as they thought He Dong had only succeeded because of a surprise attack. However, breaking the iron bar directly terrified them. Their legs trembled as they looked at He Dong's hands, thinking that if he could break an iron bar, he could easily break their bones.
At this moment, the thugs began to regret their actions. They had thought that teaching a college student a lesson would be easy, and they had done such things before. But now they realized they had bitten off more than they could chew, and it was a tough one, like alloy steel.
However, the experienced thugs quickly turned and ran, dragging the still screaming bald leader with them, even abandoning the minivan they had arrived in.
With He Dong's speed, chasing them would have been easy, but he wasn't a street thug who enjoyed fighting. So, he didn't chase them. Instead, he watched them run away with a disdainful smile, wondering who hated him so much as to send thugs after him.
He Dong tried to piece together his thoughts but couldn't find any leads, so he shook his head and gave up. Just then, a "crack! crack!" sound caught his attention.
Following the sound, he saw that his pet, Jinzi, had come out and was gnawing on the broken half of the iron bar. It looked like it was enjoying a delicious meal.
Seeing Jinzi eat for the first time, He Dong was amazed. The hard iron bar seemed like a cucumber in Jinzi's mouth. A twenty-centimeter iron bar was quickly devoured by Jinzi.
"Such a small body, yet it can swallow such a long iron bar. This world is truly amazing!" Holding the still hungry Jinzi, He Dong couldn't help but marvel.
"Chirp! Chirp!" Jinzi, like a cat washing its face, wiped its mouth with its front paws and called out to He Dong.
"What? You're still not full? Oh my God, what can I feed you? That's metal, not cabbage. Besides, I don't even have enough money for my own monthly expenses!" He Dong's eyes widened.
"Chirp! Chirp!" Jinzi, embarrassed by He Dong's words, looked around with its small eyes. Suddenly, it excitedly pointed in a direction and called out to He Dong.
"What? You want to eat that? Although it's metal, but...!" He Dong was shocked again because Jinzi was pointing at the minivan the five thugs had driven.
