When Ding Yan heard that Luo Yanqian was going to ask Shan Yatong to be his guest on a show, he was so surprised that he momentarily stopped smoking.
Luo Yanqian was arrogant and stubborn. He never disguised who he liked or didn’t like. In fact, when he met Shan Yatong earlier today, he had completely ignored him. Why was it that in half a day, he decided to invite Yatong as a guest of friendship?
Additionally, the ratings of this program was significantly higher than Star TV’s block of variety shows. Even invited guests were well-known domestic artists, and countless international stars were also invited. As the most popular artist there, why would Luo Yanqian help boost Yatong for no reason?
“Yan-Ge!?” Yang Jun’s voice called out through the phone with a tinge of anxiety.
“I understand. Go ask him to get ready.” Ding Yan hung up. He rubbed his forehead. Had Yatong’s lucky star come?
The phone rang again. Ding Yan looked at the caller ID and saw it was the director’s office phone. He answered the call. “Director Gu.”
“Sky Crown Corporation?” Ding Yan raised his voice in surprise. “20 million?”
He listened to the phone before responding. “In doing so, will we incur any losses? After all, Yatong is now-”
“I see.” Ding Yan hung up and leaned back on the soft chair. 20 million yuan. Sky Crown Corporation was really generous. Why would they spend so much money just to transfer a small artist from Flying Entertainment?
Shan Yatong’s current value was, at most, worth six figures. This also happened to be the estimated value after considering his role in Lincheng. As the largest entertainment company in China, wouldn’t Sky Crown Corporation be making an obvious loss with this kind of deal?
In just a few days, the fate of Shan Yatong had changed so much. Was there really such a thing as luck in this entertainment industry?
It’s just that, Sky Crown Corporation has countless artists, and a lot of first line stars. If Shan Yatong was to join the company now, would he be able to even claim a piece of that world?
It might still be too early to say whether he was lucky or unlucky.
When Luo Yanqian’s assistant sent the clothes to Shan Yatong’s home, he looked at Shan Yatong with a complicated expression. This boy with a gentle smile, someone who was bullied by his peers — how exactly did he catch the eye of Sky Crown Corporation’s President?
Shan Yatong noticed the man’s eyes on him, and smiled warmly. “Are you thirsty? I can pour you a glass of water.”
“No, thank you.” The assistant pulled the door shut, no longer watching the two change their clothes.
“Hey, you’re really weird. You’re more polite to my assistants than to me.” Luo Yanqian said, taking his coat off. He turned towards Shan Yatong, but as soon as he saw his bare upper body, he was distracted. His fair skin looked so soft under the light, it was an incredibly pleasant view, causing him to be rather distracted.
“You want me to be polite to you?” Shan Yatong changed his pants without glancing back. For someone like Luo Yanqian, maybe that kind of attitude can win his favour. After ten years of struggling in this circle, what types of people hadn’t he encountered yet? How could he not know that different people must be treated with different attitudes?
Luo Yanqian snapped back to reality, and laughed. “I couldn’t tell, you actually seem to know me very well.” When he said that, he was secretly pleased in a way he didn’t understand.
Shan Yatong put on his coat and straightened his bow tie in front of the mirror. “You’re not done changing yet?” Through the mirror, he could see Luo Yanqian’s baggy coat.
Luo Yanqian was disappointed he didn’t seem to react to his words. However, seeing that Shan Yatong was already dressed, he quickly straightened his coat.
“Today there is a game segment. We have to cooperate well.” Luo Yanqian fastened the button at his wrist. “Don’t embarrass me.”
Shan Yatong looked back at him. “The winning group has already been decided, so it doesn’t really matter how well I do, does it?”
Luo Yanqian shrugged his shoulders. He said somewhat feebly, “What’s the point of saying you’re a rookie when you’re oh so knowledgeable?”
Shan Yatong fixed his hair, neither salty or bland. “Do you find it that interesting, to laugh at newcomers?”
For a moment, Luo Yanqian didn’t know what to say. He hadn’t meant to laugh at him, but he couldn’t refute what Shan Yatong had said.
“I’m just kidding. You don’t have to look like that.” said Shan Yatong with a light smile, after seeing the poor look on Luo Yanqian’s face.
Luo Yanqian looked at Shan Yatong seriously. “You seem to be very good at smiling.”
Shan Yatong was not the slightest bit uncomfortable at being stared at. “Anyone who doesn’t have facial paralysis would laugh.”
What Luo Yanqian really wanted to say was that every time he smiled, the angle of his lips were always just nice. But he didn’t know if Shan Yatong would understand that this kind of smile was typically used by big stars only in public. Perhaps he did not truly understand. He said so himself. It would be hard to avoid misunderstanding if he said that, but maybe he just had the wrong idea. After all, Shan Yatong was just a newcomer who hadn’t received any smile training. How would he know how to smile in order to look the best and most approachable?
With a platinum stud in his left ear, the small studs made him seem full of youth and vitality. But he did not give the feeling of a reckless person. Shan Yatong looked at himself in the mirror. “I’m ready.”
Luo Yanqian’s eyes swept Shan Yatong’s body from head to toe, examining how he looked after getting all dressed up. He gave of the feeling of a pretty flower boy. He crossed his arms and looked away. “Well, not bad. Not bad.”
Shan Yatong closed the wardrobe door. “We should get out of here. Our assistants are waiting outside.”
Luo Yanqian shook his head. Obviously this person was only a year older than him, not to mention he debuted later, but why was he behaving so calmly?
Seeing the two people come out, Yang Jun and Xia Xichuan stood up from the sofa, a weird look on their faces.
Shan Yatong’s eyes swept over Yang Jun. Then he looked at Luo Yanqian without questioning what had happened.
“Xichuan, is the company car ready?” Luo Yanqian checked the time on the wall. “We should get ready to leave.”
“All the preparations have been made. Your sports car is already home. The company car is in the parking lot below.” When Xia Xichuan saw the expressions of the two people, he knew they had no idea that Sky Crown Corporation intended to transfer Shan Yatong from Flying Entertainment.
“Well, Yatong, let’s go.” Luo Yanqian consciously dropped his surname, addressing Shan Yatong instead in a very affectionate manner.
Shan Yatong ignored his choice of familiarity. After all, he was accustomed to meeting people within the circle who act familiar like this.
Seeing that Shan Yatong didn’t object to his familiar use of his name put Luo Yanqian in a good mood. He slung an arm around Shan Yatong’s shoulders, looking like two good friends.
Shan Yatong frowned. He was a little less fond of overly intimate actions, but it didn’t seem like a good idea to push Luo Yanqian away. He decided to just let him do what he wanted.
Luo Yanqian didn’t miss the slight frown on Shan Yatong’s face, but he consciously chose to ignore it. This was only because it was so comfortable to lean on him like this. He felt inexplicably delighted.
Xia Xichuan and Yang Jun were watching from behind with bafflement as the relationship between the two suddenly improved leaps and bounds. Why, in such a short afternoon, did Luo Yanqian’s attitude change so much?
The two people got in the car. Luo Yanqian said, “After the program recording, I’ll buy you dinner. I know a good restaurant.”
Before Shan Yatong could respond, Yang Jun responded from beside him. “Yatong still needs to prepare tonight for tomorrow’s film crew.”
Luo Yanqian glanced at the time. “It won’t be too late, don’t worry.”
Shan Yatong looked at Yang Jun, and nodded. “Okay.”
Yang Jun had directly rejected Luo Yanqian. It was impossible for him to not know Luo Yanqian’s position within Flying Entertainment. Something must’ve just happened, otherwise, based on Yang Jun’s character, he wouldn’t have said something so direct.
From the passenger seat, Xia Xichuan turned around. “I just received a notification. There has been a change to the episode’s recording. It seems like there will be a special guest.”
“A special guest?” Luo Yanqian was puzzled. “Who?”
“The organizers didn’t say, but from the tone of the person in charge, it sounds like a big shot.”
Shan Yatong looked out the car window. An unknown special guest that Luo Yanqian didn’t even know about at his current level. It clearly had to be a Heavenly King or Queen. It didn’t require much thought.
He wondered, who would he be sharing the stage with tonight?
