After the incident of the military department's sweep during the day, the red-light district was filled with panic and a sense of danger. Guding even heard the sound of gunfire in the middle of the night.
The next morning, on his way to the academy, Guding clearly noticed that the red-light district was much quieter, with some buildings even showing signs of damage, hinting at what had happened the previous night. The entrance was heavily guarded by the military, and everyone entering or leaving had to be scanned for their iris.
At the academy, he also heard many people discussing yesterday's events.
"Gu Ding, did a fight break out in the red-light district yesterday?" If being talkative were a skill, Reed undoubtedly had a natural talent for it. If gossip were also a skill, he was exceptionally gifted in it. With such "current news," he was unlikely to miss it.
"I didn't see it, but I heard gunfire at night. And this morning, when I left the red-light district, the entrance was under martial law by the military." Gu Ding nodded, knowing that if he didn't tell Reed something, this guy would probably keep pestering him.
"Do you know what happened?" With the information confirmed, Reed's interest grew even more.
"Yesterday, the military department's people conducted a search at Aunt 'Rousi's' tavern. It's said that something from the federal government was stolen. I don't know what exactly, but I strongly suspect that the item the military claims was lost is the Sea King I obtained."
"Go to the library." After Reed walked away, the Sea King's voice suddenly came. "The military and civilian information networks of the SkyNet are isolated. Currently, all the information I can gather comes from the civilian network and the underground network. Although your academy is a military institution, its internal network is connected to the military department. I should be able to gather some useful military information through the library's network."
"Can't you break this boundary?" Gu Ding felt that the Sea King's claim of being an all-access key might be a bit exaggerated.
"You have no idea how powerful a superintelligence in its adult phase can be. SkyNet's network covers over a hundred galactic nations, and its stability can resist various interferences from different universes and dimensions. This behemoth is almost flawless." The Sea King clearly had some reservations about SkyNet. "Based on my current state, I can forcibly break through 70% of the permissions set by SkyNet, but I will definitely be detected. Once detected, I will be immediately erased, and your identity and location will be exposed, leading to a frenzied manhunt by the federal government. When it's not necessary, I must try to conceal my existence."
"So SkyNet is that powerful..." Gu Ding scratched his head frankly. "Then let's go to the library!"
Most of the natural resources on the Blue Sea Planet were destroyed in the great catastrophe before the New Era. The disappearance of a large number of plants also made old trees a rare species, and paper naturally became a high-value luxury item.
The library, of course, was not filled with various paper books. All books were stored in data form, and one could access the entire star region's basic military information by connecting an electronic wristwatch to a terminal in the library.
Gu Ding found a terminal and sat down, connecting his electronic wristwatch to it. After about two or three minutes, the Sea King's voice quickly sounded, "I'm done, let's go!"
After leaving the library, the Sea King's voice came again, "I scanned the military network just now and found an unexpected surprise."
"Could it be a system vulnerability?" Gu Ding was slightly hopeful.
"Not exactly, but I found a hidden item with permission restrictions." The Sea King's response surprised Gu Ding. "To avoid being detected, I spent some time bypassing the permissions."
"What is it?" Gu Ding vaguely felt that the hidden item should be extraordinary.
"It's a set of techniques called 'Ultimate Body Techniques.' I briefly skimmed through it, and the content is derived from the true ancient civilization's 'Ultimate Body Techniques'..."
"Ultimate Body Techniques? I've heard of it." Gu Ding's face showed a strange expression. "It's said that when the martial arts civilization was just flourishing, a genius who learned ancient martial body techniques combined the strengths of many body techniques to create a set of 'Ultimate Body Techniques.' The characteristic of this set of body techniques is that it extends human attack methods beyond just fists and feet to include elbows, knees, head, fingers, and other unconventional parts, making every part of the body a weapon. This set of ultimate body techniques made him the king of close combat. However, after the federal government obtained his consent and passed the techniques to the military, no one could successfully cultivate them. The matter was eventually dropped."
"This set of 'Ultimate Body Techniques' is not only incomplete but also has serious flaws. The true 'Ultimate Body Techniques' in my information database has a complete version with twelve levels. This incomplete set has only seven levels, and its power is far inferior to the true 'Ultimate Body Techniques.'" The Sea King said with a hint of mockery. "The complete version of 'Ultimate Body Techniques' is the true essence summarized by hundreds of billions of body cultivators over nearly 200,000 years during the martial arts era. It is the true body technique canon and was once a shining comet in the martial arts civilization, enjoying great popularity."
"Ordinary body techniques can barely bring out 80% of the user's potential combat power. However, just the first level of 'Ultimate Body Techniques' can enhance the user's potential combat power to a perfect 100%, the second level to 120%, the third level to 150%, the fourth level to 200%, the fifth level to 300%, the sixth level to 500%, the seventh level to 10 times, the eighth level to 20 times, the ninth level to 40 times, the tenth level to 80 times, the eleventh level to 160 times, and the twelfth level to 320 times! The incomplete 'Ultimate Body Techniques,' even at its highest seventh level, can only enhance combat power by 400%."
"The true 'Ultimate Body Techniques' must be cultivated starting from a first-stage gene body, and the cell composite index must exceed 15 points to have a chance of success. The incomplete version has no gene level restrictions. If it's a first-stage gene body, a cell composite index of 12 points or more can start cultivation, but it can only reach the seventh level. Beyond that, the body will disintegrate. Cultivating this technique causes the cell division rate to increase with the strength of cultivation, leading to premature aging and death."
"If what you say is true, then no one can cultivate this technique. For a first-stage gene body, a cell composite index of 10 points is already the limit. Unless one breaks through to a second-stage gene body, the cell composite index cannot be increased further." Gu Ding felt that the cultivation conditions for this technique were almost unbelievably high.
"Under normal circumstances, the cell composite index is indeed limited by gene strength. However, there are some special methods to break this barrier. For example, taking cell enhancers, or using electric currents to stimulate cell activity, though the effect may be limited. Directed radiation can also directly guide cell mutation and enhancement..."
"These enhancements, no matter which one, cost at least tens of thousands of star coins. I don't have that much money." Gu Ding was being honest. He could only earn 5 star coins a month, and after deducting daily expenses, he had saved up only about 200 star coins over the years.
"I suggest you check your personal property account." The Sea King's tone was very calm.
Gu Ding opened his account with some confusion, looking at the number of star coins. "Why do I have so much money in my account?"
