The two of them followed the river and came to a stop in front of a small door.

Wu Jin was just about to push open the door, but he paused before actually doing so and repeatedly instructed the cub, “We’re here to find the entrance to the Brave Rapids and the water clock. We’re not here to fight. Don’t randomly touch things…” NACF29

Wei Shi nodded. His fingers were steady on the bowstring, and the tip of the arrow was directed at the door.

Just as Wu Jin pushed open the door––

In the distance, the sound of chaotic footsteps sounded out across the heavy hall. Zcj5P

The two of them abruptly exchanged glances.

Another team had also entered the pyramid.

Based on the splashing sounds, it might even be more than one group. f8Bz F

Wu Jin quickly pushed open the door.

Heavy, stale air swept out in a gust.

The stone chamber behind the door was wide, and the military grade flashlight sent a long beam of light through the dust to the other end of the room. Wu Jin immediately realized that this should be the funeral chamber. o7HNVd

The stone chamber was filled with furniture, bowls, and temporary food that had been prepared by the program group. It was very similar to the burial system from Ancient Egypt. In the middle was a huge sarcophagus, and murals of dancing priests were drawn on the walls.

“It’s the Queen’s funeral chamber.” Wu Jin guessed, “The Pharaoh’s funeral chamber would be of a higher standard, and shouldn’t be placed at the bottom of the pyramid––forget it, let’s first find the <Book of the Dead>. All the murals mention this thing, and it should be a quest item.”

Wu Jin ran quickly to the prop coffin, “Come and help! Is this a flip cover or a sliding one––”

Wei Shi stilled.

The two of them suddenly looked towards the door. VipWkx

The sound of footsteps could be heard from nearby.

“It’s more than one team.” Wu Jin held the big boss’s arm and gestured for him to wait, “If there’s three teams, then nobody can hold anyone hostage and everyone can benefit, but if one team is able to obtain the quest item first, then they would definitely become the target, and the other teams would prioritize eradicating them. We can’t stand out like that. Is there an exit here?”

The 16 year old Wei Shi’s eyes shifted as he thought about the stakes involved, “No, the air is still.”

Outside the door, the sound of footsteps was getting closer.

There were only a few minutes left before the two groups arrived.

Wu Jin spoke in that quick instant, “Open the coffin first––Wait, rub some mud onto the soles of your shoes.” ZmrIhX

One wall apart.

Raphael and his teammate were speeding along the river.

Behind them was the Jingyi team that was in constant pursuit. 38WLqP

Raphael had reached a brief cease-fire agreement with Jingyi outside the pyramid, but the trust between the two teams had been shattered.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

The ‘first team to reach the pyramid’ that Jingyi had mentioned didn’t exist. From the entrance all the way until now, they hadn’t seen any footprints in the dirt. The entire pyramid seemed to be in the same state it had been prior to the start of the game.

Raphael noticed the stone door by the river at a glance. 3gnYLX

His teammate was pleasantly surprised, “Let’s go, go in and take a look.”

Raphael continued on without saying a word. This trainee from Azure People’s Entertainment was very strong, but in fact, he didn’t play tricks in any of the various competitions and didn’t act as a commander. He only kept his head down and fired when needed. He was 2 meters tall and blushed easily in group performances.

At first, the audience thought that he was purposely going the ‘closed up’ route, but later on, they discovered that Azure People’s Entertainment basically didn’t fund their players’ popularity at all. Even Vera’s ‘White Rose’ marketing had been created by her fans. 9QgizZ

His teammate arrived at the entrance to the funeral chamber first and waited for the bolder Raphael to push open the door.

The air was frighteningly silent.

dtP6p9

There was a squeak.

Raphael’s arm exerted strength, and the door opened up slowly.

“The resistance of the stone door is very strong. It shouldn’t have been touched before.” His teammate summarized the situation in a low voice.

The flashlight beam penetrated into the funeral chamber.

A slight gap was left open in the Queen’s stone sarcophagus, and it seemed like a silent lure for players to reach in.

The atmosphere in the funeral chamber was dull and depressing. They could only hear the footsteps from Jingyi behind them, and the sound of water droplets hitting the walls. yMrTk8

There was nobody inside.

Chrysanthemum Garden.

Raphael’s flashlight suddenly flashed over one spot.

Beneath the Queen’s sarcophagus were two particularly conspicuous footprints. w2dxPE

“Someone’s already come in?” His teammate was surprised, “Has the coffin been opened? How could they be so fast? There’s only one entrance and one exit, and there aren’t any other footprints nearby––”

Raphael suddenly opened his mouth and held the flashlight between his teeth, using both hands to lift up his crossbow and aim it at the crack in the sarcophagus.

“Are you saying that someone might be inside the coffin?” His teammate reacted, then looked at the positioning of the two footprints. It really did look as though someone had climbed into the sarcophagus. He couldn’t help but shiver––hiding in the sarcophagus in order to plot against others? This contestant really wasn’t afraid of anything. aQdHiN

The two of them finally came forward and stood in front of the sarcophagus.

Raphael held his breath and waited––

There was a bang!

The two of them turned back at the same time.

From behind them, the stone door suddenly closed with a heavy sound! 6LH8T0

Raphael’s expression changed drastically, “The resistance.”

The resistance they’d felt when opening the door had been due to someone standing behind the door and pushing back against his strength.

Outside. vBZfie

Wu Jin, who’d been hiding behind the door the whole time, quickly stuffed the <Book of the Dead> into the big boss’s arms and pulled the big boss in another direction to run at full tilt, “Run run run run run, run backwards, run backwards––”

Jingyi was also about to arrive from the direction of the entrance into the tomb.

Wu Jin let out a breath of relief, and he was in great spirits, “Alright, let’s go back!” buU6ef

Wei Shi: “We’re not leaving first?”

Wu Jin: “How can we leave first! Won’t we be seen through if we leave first!”

At the entrance to the stone chamber. fmgyPF

Wu Jin and Wei Shi arrived from another direction just as Jingyi arrived at the door.

Ming Yao was startled.

Wu Jin was also caught by surprise. SMFgdm

Before Little Ming could speak, Wu Jin had already spoken up blankly, “You guys came from that side? Is there another entrance over there?”

Zuo Botang greeted him calmly and nodded, but his gaze was locked precisely on the ground.

There were two lines of footprints extending from the other direction. Scarf had entered the pyramid from a different entrance. wUgqI9

Then, Ming Yao suddenly patted his own forehead, “Let’s not talk about this! Alliance, alliance! Let’s not fight, since another team has already gone inside first…”

Wu Jin’s mouth opened wide.

At this time, the stone door suddenly opened up.

Raphael and his teammate: “……”
