Fake 79: Level 10

The snowfall stopped the following day, but the ground was muddy and sloppy because the fallen snow from the previous day had melted.

“It was harsh yesterday~. Not only was it cold, but we couldn’t see anything either. I never thought the snow was this troublesome.”

“It was the first time I fought in snowy conditions as well. No matter what I tried, the timing of my attacks was all over the place.”

Yesterday, both go and return trips were more tiring than expected that I fell asleep earlier than usual. But, I was luckily able to avoid being late to school because Aoi had woken me up as usual this morning.

Aoi must have been as tired as I was yesterday, but I couldn’t feel the slightest hint of it from her when I looked at her.

Just like usual, I arrived at school and went to my seat.

“Hey.”

“Hi.”

Honda started greeting me every day ever since he came to apologize to me on the first day of the third semester.

It was just a short exchange of “Hey” and “Hi,” and it wasn’t like we were talking about anything in particular more than that. However, it was a very big change for a loner like me, who was never greeted by anyone previously.

And then, now that it has become the third semester, I am attending classes more seriously than ever.

That is because Aoi issued an ultimatum that I reach the top 30 in the next test. Aoi never makes such kinds of jokes. So, if by chance I cannot achieve the goal set by her… Just by thinking about it, there is no way I could skimp on my efforts, even by mistake.

Unknowingly, my school life had become more fulfilling than ever before. And when about a month’s time had passed, I reached level 10 and was finally promoted to an E-rank survivor.

“Seems like my level has risen in the battle just now.”

“Congratulations, Rin-kun. With this, we are now a matching pair of E-rankers.”

“It is hard to catch up since Aoi’s level is increasing as well.”

“No, it is quite amazing to reach E-rank in such a short time.”

“Level 13 Aoi is also amazing, you know.”

To put it bluntly, Aoi’s way of leveling up isn’t ordinary either.

In less than three months after forming a party with me, her level has risen by two.

Aoi defeated two D-rank monsters in the previous raid battle. Not only that, but she has also been defeating quite a number of monsters every day since forming a party with me, so the speed of her leveling up has naturally increased.

It might sound like bragging if I say so myself, but I honestly think that a party of two first-year students with both members at E-rank is quite awesome.

With this, I basically have the qualification to receive special treatment from school next year, making me very happy.

It might be a little early to say, but it seems that I can graduate without needing to worry about money as long as nothing unexpected happens. So, I can be at ease for the time being.

This is my current Status after reaching level 10.

Skill –『Faker』《Explosion 8》《Vortex Fire 3》《Lightning 6》《《Ice Javelin 8》《Wind Cutter 7》

My skill columns didn’t increase even after reaching level 10. And although each of my skills’ skill-usable times increased respectively, the skill-usable limit of [Vortex Fire] didn’t increase.

I never noticed it until now, but it seemed that the increase in the skill-usable times due to leveling up was not uniform.

And also, there was another change that was outside of my expectation after reaching level 10.
