No. 9, Shen Xin, finished her speech with red-rimmed eyes and the green light in front of No. 10 lit up.

The atmosphere at the scene momentarily changed: Yan Yuze straightened slightly where he was seated, No. 7 Zhao Xu looked nervously towards No. 10, while No. 8 Bai Lin’s expression remained calm. However, the slight trembling of her fingertips gave away her inner emotions. On the other hand, No. 1, who had abstained from voting during the election, lowered her head silently, neither speaking nor making eye contact with the others.

No. 10’s complexion was not very good: “I have looked up information regarding the Werewolf game previously, and some people said that the Seer was a card that played 1 vs 11. I didn’t believe it… forget it, it was my carelessness that caused this mess. I’m the Seer, and I will carry this pot. Apologies to everyone!” No. 10 was obviously displeased, but she suppressed the negative emotions in her heart and began to present her analysis. “You say that No. 2’s speech is good, but just where is his speech good? His speech was just sophistry! Why can’t you guys see the true nature of the matter through his speech? No. 2 says that he is the Seer, but who did he check? No. 3. He said that No. 3 is a good person, and who is No. 3? No. 3 is the first person during the election to say that she is a God! No. 3 had already said that she is a God, but does No. 2 still have no idea what identity to give her? You all better use your brain, because No. 2 is deceiving you with his flowery speech! Think again, who did he say he would check next? It is the person that I checked last night and the person that I want to check next! The people he is going to check are the same as the ones I am checking. He is completely following in my footsteps to check people, but why? Because he’s not the Seer. He can’t check anyone, so he doesn’t have his own ideas. How could he know who to check!”

At this point, No. 10 took a deep breath and continued to speak: “Think about it! If you were the Seer, would you check the same person as the one who countered you?” Speaking till here, No. 10 became a little incoherent, flushing, “Okay, I won’t talk about No. 2, let’s talk about me, where am I not like the Seer? If I was not the real Seer, would I choose to check the little girl, No. 9? It’s because I am the real Seer that everyone’s identity is the same for me! I need to check everyone’s identity and give you all an account! If I was a Wolf, couldn’t I have only checked a skilled player and claimed that they were golden water to obtain their vote? Wouldn’t that work? Wolves are unscrupulous. They only have victory in their eyes while I want to protect everyone, so I would choose to check the weak No. 9 by my side. I won’t say much regarding other things, just think about it yourself. If you are the Seer, would you choose the same person that the sly Wolf said they would check? Is this a perspective of the Seer?” No. 10 looked down and glanced at her phone. Noticing that her time was almost done, her complexion turned pale as she added, “I don’t have the badge now, but I will still first check No. 4 today.”

As No. 10’s speech ended, No. 11 started his speech.

“It’s just a Sheriff badge. We can tear it if we make a mistake in our voting.” Unlike No. 10, who had been anxious, No. 11, Su Yingxing had a very calm state of mind. “The Sheriff badge must be given to the Seer. Abstaining from voting or giving your vote to a strong God does not have much meaning. If we voted wrong we can tear it. We must vote for the Seer, and hence I chose between No. 2 and No. 10, and didn’t vote for No. 6. Why did I vote for No. 2? Of course, it’s because No. 2’s speech was better than No. 10’s. I have not played many rounds of the Werewolf game before, but I have been the Seer quite a few times. Every time I received the Seer role, all that was in my mind was how to pass on the information regarding who I checked, and simultaneously convince everyone to believe my information. Yet when No. 10 spoke during the election, the first thing that she said was that she must obtain the Sheriff badge; that it cannot be given to others. What she cared about most was receiving the Sheriff badge, instead of passing on the information regarding who she had checked.” Looking at No. 10’s red-rimmed eyes, Su Yingxing continued, “Of course, it doesn’t mean that she definitely is the Wolf, or that No. 2 is necessarily the Seer. This round isn’t yet her turn to be voted out.”

Speaking up to here, Su Yingxing seemed to have thought of something, and his gaze suddenly became more focused, as if he had made a decision. However, his words took a turn in another direction: “But even in terms of the statement that she made just then, I still don’t believe that No. 10 is the Seer.” He shifted his gaze away as he said this, ignoring No. 10’s worsening complexion, and continued, “No. 10’s speech cannot be said to be very bad, but it really isn’t good. She only spoke of No. 2’s weak points and didn’t mention her own train of thought. Ordinarily, when the Seer is misunderstood by the good people, their primary desire is to tell everyone what they were thinking. However, No. 10 mentioned neither what she’d been thinking about on the first night, nor what arrangements she had made. Her reason for checking No. 9 also seemed to have been prepared early on. Yet even this isn’t an integral reason for my doubt. After all, ways of thinking can differ from person to person. I can accept that. What actually matters is: who are the Wolves she found?”

“If No. 2 is a Wolf, then who are his companions? Are they No. 7 and I who voted for him? She didn’t mention me and No. 7 at all, so why doesn’t she dare to speak of us? Is she afraid that I or No. 7 might have a special identity? If she was the Seer, shouldn’t she be happy to find all three wolves? Why does she feel so indignant?”

Su Yingxing gave an almost inaudible sigh: “I didn’t want to treat a girl like this on the first day. But… a Seer, who doesn’t report the people they checked, has no train of thought and doesn’t dare to name the Wolves right before her eyes … I can’t believe in the identity of this type of Seer no matter what. In this round, I will trust No. 2. No. 10, you can directly put me into No. 2’s Wolf team so that you can fill your suspect list. As for whether or not I am a God, you can think about that slowly.”

No. 11’s speech ended and No. 12 began to speak.

Papapa. Tang Youchen gave a round of applause.

“Everyone’s speeches are so exciting ah! Hahaha, let me also talk about my train of thought! I must be a good person, since if I was a Wolf, wouldn’t I be looking for death by playing like this? Just think about it, I’m a Wolf*. No matter who you think the Seer is during the election, out of these two people,” Tang Youchen pointed to Shen Mu and No. 10, “One of them must be the real Seer, and the other must be my Wolf companion. Hahaha! That was just an accident, an accident**. I meant that one must be the real Seer, and the other must be the Wolf! That was just an accident!”

*T/N: Not a typo. He really said that he was a Wolf.

**T/N: Turns out he said he was a Wolf (and hence would have a Wolf companion) by accident …. ???

Tang Youchen’s eyes widened, looking at everyone’s minute expressions. He had a face of despair: “You can’t be like this! If I was a Wolf, would I make such a mistake?! This just shows that my conscience is clear and that I’m very relaxed! I really am a good person! Would a Wolf have such a relaxed state of mind?!”

“Forget it, it’s up to you whether you believe me or not! I will continue my point ah,” Tang Youchen suddenly became calm again, “I missed something just now. Haha, I can’t keep up with my own mouth. What I wanted to say was that they would be my companion if I was a Wolf; I didn’t say that I was a Wolf! If ah, IF! If I was a Wolf, then one of them must be my wolf companion. If No. 10 was a Wolf, she would already be exposed and can’t retreat. Why would I blabber and make trouble, am I looking for death? Even if I was looking for death, I wouldn’t drag my whole team down! Furthermore, if No. 2 was my Wolf companion, then during the election when I claimed that he was a Wolf, was I sick? One of them must be a Wolf, and I am not the teammate of either of them. Therefore, I’m not a Wolf, isn’t that right?”

“Puchi*.” Xie You couldn’t resist laughing before hurriedly covering her mouth, trying arduously to extinguish her mirth.

*T/N: Puchi – suppressed laughter

“So, I’m a good guy. I participated in the election to speed up the game’s progress. And I didn’t make trouble, I retreated! Now,” Tang Youchen suddenly patted Su Yingxing’s shoulder beside him. “I think No. 11 makes a lot of sense and looks to be a good person. I think we’ll just vote out No. 10 today. Now that we have determined that she is a Wolf, why should we leave a Wolf alive for an extra round? Or would you guys prefer for No. 4 and No. 10 to PK? In short, I can’t be the one voted out today. I’m not in the same team as either No. 2 or No. 10, which shows that I don’t have a team.”

After Tang Youchen finished speaking, player No. 1 started her speech.

“I’m not a Wolf, I’m a Civilian.” Having spoken, No. 1 immediately ended her speech. Several other players frowned at her curt single-sentence statement.

It was No. 2, Shen Mu’s turn to speak.

While everyone else was speaking, Shen Mu had been thinking. It was now certain that No. 10 and his sister were Wolves, leaving just one more Wolf…

He was the third last person to speak. Of the people who had yet to speak, his junior sister definitely wasn’t a Wolf. No. 4 Du Xiulin’s speech had to be heard before he could make a judgement.

Amongst those who had already spoken, No. 6, Yan Yuze, must be the Hunter. Therefore, No. 7, Zhao Xu, who voted for him, was most likely a good person. No. 8, Bai Lin’s, identity was uncertain since that girl was very smart. The reason why she’d cast her vote for No. 6, Yan Yuze, to be Sheriff seemed flawless, but her desire for self-preservation was too obvious. The sole focus of her speech was to explain why she’d voted for Yan Yuze during the election, and it almost seemed as though she did not care who the Wolves were. Tang Youchen and Su Yingxing should both be good people. Tang Youchen had already been labelled as someone that should be voted out, and yet he still hadn’t stated his identity. He may be the Idiot or a villager who wanted to make himself seem like the Idiot, but he definitely wasn’t another strong God. No. 1… her identity was uncertain, but the last Wolf must be either No. 1, No. 4, or No. 8. Perhaps No. 1, who was the most taciturn and unnoticed, was the last Wolf.

Shen Mu was not too worried about the Wolf team. On the contrary, it was the good team, the Witch, the Seer, and the Idiot whose identities remained shrouded in uncertainty. His junior sister had said that she was a God. He would listen to what she said in a little while, and if she was a God, that would mean a critical change in the situation. Although No. 4 Du Xiulin had emphasized during the election that he was a Civilian, he might have been any God card, except for the Seer. The possibility of him being the Idiot wasn’t high, so he could only be the Witch…

There was still a problem. Shen Mu’s eyes flickered slightly. When his sister spoke, she chose to support No. 10. This wasn’t a good choice. His sister’s best choice was to say that her reason for voting No. 10 to be the Sheriff was because No. 10 gave her golden water and refrain from saying anything else. Now that his younger sister had expressed her support for No. 10, he shouldn’t check her identity anymore, but instead, directly vote her out and check No. 1. If he was the Seer, this was the right thing to do.

But he couldn’t just vote out his sister…

The people that he was going to check couldn’t be changed, and he must give her the identity of a good person. His younger sister was currently in a situation where she could only survive if she was double golden water*. However, if he didn’t change who he checked, it would arouse the suspicions of the rest. After all, from the perspective of the Seer, if there was a player with an unknown identity and they, as the Seer, originally said that they would check them, but then gave their opponent their vote… and after the election, they still supported their opponent … in the eyes of the Seer, this person would definitely appear to be a Wolf!

*T/N: double golden water – someone that both Seers have identified as a good person.

Forget it. If they doubt you, then they doubt you. Anyway, he was destined to perish during this round now that his outward identity was the Seer. What mattered was to trick the Witch into saving him with the antidote. Otherwise, the good people would suspect him of being a Wolf, and since, in the eyes of the Wolves, he would be the Seer, if they killed him at night, then he would be screwed.

No. 1’s speech was too short to allow Shen Mu to ponder any longer. As Shen Mu prepared to speak, he had a burst of inspiration. How about…

“I’m the third last speaker, and No. 3, who is speaking after me, is my golden water. She is a good person and can be trusted. She said that she was a God and I also believe it. I am uncertain of No. 4’s identity, so I will conclude the vote here directly.” Shen Mu looked around and smiled, “After hearing this round of speeches, I’ve found almost all the Wolves.”
