Yan Lifeng, the Immortal Beast Garden.
Here, more than ten immortal cranes are kept. These cranes are extremely noble and will not eat anything that is not exquisite, and they can even consume some of the immortal spirits and treasures of cultivators.
The immortal crane is a spirit beast, and all spirit beasts are creatures with the bloodline of immortal beasts.
It is said that immortal beasts are even more powerful than demons, capable of flying through the sky, diving into the earth, and stirring up the seas. Examples include the divine dragon, phoenix, qilin, and divine martial beasts.
"Sun Wudao, who is this?" When Wu Yu arrived, a group of tall and burly miscellaneous servants surrounded him, their faces unfriendly. They were all young and strong, having been trained in this immortal sect for many years, with robust qi and blood.
"If they were in the mortal world, these servants could all be generals!" Wu Yu was inwardly shocked.
"He is called Wu Yu. It is said that the Sect Master brought him back from outside." Sun Wudao, the oldest here, seemed to be not very respected.
"Sect Master? Ha ha, don't joke." The group of burly servants laughed, and one who looked like the leader stepped forward, saying, "Since the Sect Master brought him back, he must be a genius. Let me test his strength."
This person was named Zhao Chuan, one of the leaders of the hundred miscellaneous servants on Yan Lifeng. He was in his thirties, in the prime of his life, and it was said that he had already reached the fourth level of the 'Mortal Body Tempering Realm'—'Internal Strength'.
"No!" Sun Wudao, with his slightly thin body, stood in front of Wu Yu and said, "He was poisoned in the mortal world and has lost his foundation. Please don't make things difficult for him."
Wu Yu was grateful for Sun Wudao's protection on their first meeting, even at the risk of opposing these burly servants. If not for him, he would have likely been beaten up today, being a new arrival.
"So he's a waste of space. I'll say this upfront: regardless of whether he's a waste of space, he still has to do his work. If he misses one task, he'll have to pay with his life. I, Zhao Chuan, have no sympathy for the weak. After all, Immortal Su entrusted the Immortal Beast Garden to me, showing his trust." Zhao Chuan said bluntly.
"Rest assured, Leader Zhao. If he misses one task, I'll do it for him." Sun Wudao said.
"You old bones, can you manage it?" Zhao Chuan smiled coldly, then turned around and shouted, "Brothers, pay attention today. Several immortals are coming to visit Immortal Su. Take good care of their immortal cranes. If anything goes wrong, you'll pay with your lives!"
"Understood, Commander Zhao!" everyone responded.
It seemed Zhao Chuan had something important to do and didn't want to bother with this old and useless person.
Not long after Zhao Chuan's instructions, the sound of flapping wings could be heard from the mist in the sky. Several huge immortal cranes descended in the Immortal Crane Garden, and a few young men and women came down from them.
These immortals were not much older than Wu Yu. They were all dressed in splendid and exquisite clothing, more dazzling than court attire. The men exuded a powerful aura, and the women were graceful and beautiful, with fair skin and snow-white flesh. They chatted happily, making one envious.
"If it weren't for the Soul-Breaking Powder, I could have been one of them." Wu Yu stood respectfully to the side, not daring to look directly. If he did, these immortals would surely punish him.
"Immortal Sister Su, we have come to learn the immortal way today." The immortals smiled and headed for the 'Yan Li Palace'. The surrounding miscellaneous servants were not even in their eyes.
"Take good care of them, take good care of them." After they left, Zhao Chuan shouted loudly.
Sun Wudao didn't say much, directly teaching Wu Yu how to feed the immortal cranes. Wu Yu now roughly understood the rules here, so he diligently learned and worked hard, not wanting to cause trouble for Sun Wudao.
In the blink of an eye, it was evening. Su Yanli's teaching had ended, and the 'immortals' were about to leave the mountain. Wu Yu and Sun Wudao, like father and son, lay on a large green stone. Wu Yu was asking about the details of the immortal sect, learning much about the sect, cultivation, and Sun Wudao's personal matters. Suddenly, they heard someone exclaim, and both quickly looked over to see an immortal crane vomiting and having diarrhea, extremely agitated.
"That's the guest's immortal crane!"
Suddenly, such an incident occurred, and everyone panicked, even Zhao Chuan was trembling in fear. Just at this moment, the group of immortals happened to come down and saw the scene.
"My Ling'er!" A handsome young man in black and white brocade, with a jade pendant at his waist and a gem-encrusted long sword behind him, ran out.
"Who was taking care of my immortal crane, Situ Jin!" The handsome young man was furious, his roar deafening. Sun Wudao almost fell off the green stone from fright.
In fact, the miscellaneous servants fed the immortal cranes randomly. The cranes all looked similar, so who knew who fed which one? Moreover, this had nothing to do with who fed them; it might have been a problem with today's food.
"Wu Yu, it was you!"
At this moment, the pale-faced Zhao Chuan shouted.
"Who is Wu Yu!" The handsome young man, Situ Jin, said in a cold voice.
Everyone's gaze fell on Wu Yu.
Wu Yu was momentarily confused, as he had just arrived and didn't know what had happened.
"You deserve to die!"
Situ Jin immediately drew a long whip and, without a word, rushed to Wu Yu. The whip flew up, striking with lightning speed. Before Wu Yu could react, his chest was torn open, leaving a shocking blood trail. The immense force threw him against the green stone, and he was almost dead.
"I fed the crane." Sun Wudao stepped forward, his eyes slightly trembling.
Wu Yu, on the verge of losing consciousness, heard these words. He never expected that someone he had just met would help him so much. He deeply remembered this kindness, but he always took responsibility for his actions. This time, Zhao Chuan saw him as a waste of space and used him to solve the problem. This was his, Zhao Chuan's, and Situ Jin's issue, not Sun Wudao's.
"It's not his fault!" Wu Yu struggled to stand up, somehow finding the strength to push Sun Wudao away. This was his principle; he couldn't let others suffer for him.
As for life and death, although he had entered the immortal sect, he had no hope of becoming an immortal, destined to live a mediocre life, serving others, and living at the bottom. Wu Yu didn't have much expectation for such a life.
"Courageous! I hate the most those who have no ability but a lot of courage." Situ Jin laughed coldly, raising the whip, which struck Wu Yu like a venomous snake, instantly tearing his skin and flesh. Wu Yu grunted and knelt on the ground, his chest burning with pain.
"Enough, Wu Yu is a cripple, and his death won't have much impact. We are still in our prime and can still serve Immortal Su." The miscellaneous servants consoled themselves.
"Scary, thank goodness it wasn't my Mei'er. I would have been heartbroken. Situ Jin is justified in being angry. These servants deserve to die. If they don't set an example, they won't behave." A female immortal said in a soft voice.
"Crack!"
Situ Jin wanted to kill, and the whip struck Wu Yu's head, shattering it. Wu Yu lost consciousness completely.
