Chapter 30. It’s Not An Uninhabited, Barren Island, Is It?

Yu Ze ended the kiss before he called Du Xin Ran back.

It’d been a long time since he’d gotten in touch with Du Xin Ran himself, but now that he could finally properly discuss work matters with him, he’d no idea where to start.

But Du Xin Ran had called about something else.

“Your matter with Second Young Master Song…do you plan to disclose it? What type of public statement do you wish for our side to prepare?”

Yu Ze immediately thought of what happened last night, as well as everything else that happened when he was at the Song Family’s. He felt his ears become a little warm.

“Was I caught on camera?”

“From last night to this morning, you haven’t looked at the hot gossip on the Internet at all, have you?” Du Xin Ran asked, “Quite a few topics have already broken out. The advice on my end is to not give a response at such a time.”

Yu Ze glanced at Song Yan, then replied, “I will think about it.”

“Of course,” Du Xin Ran said before he added, “if you feel that it’s the right time to go public though, that’s fine as well.”

Yu Ze arranged to meet and discuss it further with him.

And then, he began to search for gossip concerning himself and Song Yan. He very quickly found all sorts of pictures on several of the largest social media sites and gossip forums.

For the large events that the Song Family hosted, all of the photographers and cinematographers that were sought were those that they had a long history with – they’d sign a contract and all the photos and images of the guests wouldn’t be released onto the Internet without the consent of the Song Family.

However, nothing could be done about the photos and selfies the guests had taken amongst themselves. The appearance of Yu Ze at the Song Family’s banquet yesterday had been furtively snapped by more than one person.

As Yu Ze browsed through these photos, he thought in his heart that it seemed like no matter who it was, everyone all had the desire to snoop; it’d nothing to do with whether one was of the upper class or not.

Quite a few of the photos were of Yu Ze and Song Yan standing close to one another. Some were taken before they’d changed back, while some were taken after. But even though the two hadn’t made any intimate gestures in front of the bystanders, the movements of the two, along with their manner of speaking, made it all look very intimate – just as if there was some sort of love bubble that separated them from the rest of the world.

But if it was insisted that the two were merely just good friends, that’d also work. After all, they hadn’t directly kissed right in front of all those that’d been present in the hall. All those stories were merely a display of narratives made up based on the photographs.

Yu Ze was lost in his thoughts, when he suddenly heard Song Yan curse.

“Shit!”

Yu Ze immediately looked at him, “What’s wrong?”

With a brush of his hand, Song Yan let the curtains of the living room fall shut. He angrily exclaimed, “I saw a car parked over next to the lawn; there was someone taking pictures!”

“How did they get in?” Yu Ze asked.

The security here was very good; the entertainment journalists could only squat guard in the area surrounding the villa. Never had they ever been this close before. It seemed that those in the outside world all felt that they’d disclose it over the next two days or so and thus wanted to get the pictures and news firsthand.

“They must have snuck in,” Song Yan said. He immediately called his own security detail and asked them to contact the property manager to drive the reporters away. He also arranged for several more bodyguards.

Not even ten minutes had passed before the property manager appeared and requested the van to immediately leave the premise.

Song Yan’s assistant also reported back to him on the situation; there were already a lot of reporters waiting on the outer periphery of the villa as someone had received the news yesterday night that “Second Young Master Song had stayed the night in Yu Ze’s house”. The reporters had thus stayed for the whole, entire night.

Yu Ze didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, “Looks like we have been surrounded.”

Song Yan embraced him from behind and rested his chin on his shoulder, before he asked in a soft voice, “What to do? Why don’t we just go out hand in hand and raise a white flag of surrender?”

“Surrendering is not my style,” Yu Ze replied.

Song Yan gave a laugh, “Teacher Yu’s grand battle against the entertainment journalists; how to fight using wisdom and courage.”

He dropped another kiss on Yu Ze’s earlobe and asked, “What’d Du Xin Ran say to you?”

Yu Ze was silent. The meaning behind Du Xin Ran’s words was obviously that he didn’t wish for him to immediately disclose it. Though to be honest, that was precisely what he himself had been thinking. But Song Yan was currently in his most enthusiastic phase; if Song Yan grew a tail right now, it’d definitely be whirling about like an electric fan.

“No matter what Du Xin Ran had said, we have a lot to do. We can’t just stay here surrounded for the entire day,” Yu Ze slipped a hand behind to stroke Song Yan’s face.

As he obviously had used Song Yan’s body for so many months, he was thus extremely familiar was this body. But now that he touched it, it felt different from when he was inside it. It seemed as if Song Yan’s own skin was warmer and drier, so that when he ran his fingers up like this, he could easily trigger the tinniest of shivers.

“In a bit, I’ll take my leave first,” Yu Ze said, “This way the reporters’ attention would be divided. And then you get your men to come pick you up. Go through the other exit.”

Song Yan didn’t refute him; he only held Yu Ze’s hand, pressed a kiss to it and said, “Okay.”

This was the first day since they’d swapped back. Yu Ze wanted to go find Du Xin Ran and Song Yan wanted to go to the company.

Before Yu Ze departed, Song Yan had already changed into a clean suit; he faced the mirror, knotted the tie, straightened it and then walked up to Yu Ze, “Let’s eat together tonight.”

“That’s fine,” Yu Ze said, “But….”

“I will arrange a good place,” Song Yan told him, “I won’t let any paparazzi come near.”

His expression was tender as he spoke.

“We do still have a lot of matters to go over,” Yu Ze said.

Song Yan’s eyes lit up, “We can go on a vacation together, to an island. We can go to my island.”

“You have your own island?” Yu Ze asked.

“Well, not my own island per se; it’s only rented for twenty years. More cost effective than paying for it year by year,” Song Yan replied.

Yu Ze laughed, “Wow, then that must be very cost effective indeed.”

Song Yan’s voice became deeper, “Then we’ll go together?”

Yu Ze nodded, “Can’t.”

* if this was only English, then it’d be he “shook his head”; but here, the meaning behind the nod is “Yes, we can’t” (I think there’s a few other cultures/languages that also have something similar to this, as in usage of “yes” and “no”) (leaving this in b/c insignificant but interesting)

He gently added, “I don’t think now is a good time to go around the world playing.”

Song Yan remembered that asides from the matter between him and Yu Ze, the Song Family also had a lot of things going on. Who knew what’d happen if he went off on a vacation?

“We will go in the future; just the two of us.” Song Yan said.

Yu Ze was infected by his persevering enthusiasm, he couldn’t help but smile, “Then let me ask in advance, it isn’t anything like an uninhabited, barren island is it?”

Song Yan burst out loud laughing.

They leaned against the door and shared another kiss, before Yu Ze finally left.

Song Yan stood next to the window and watched as Yu Ze’s car pulled away from the driveway. After another half an hour had passed, Yu Ze sent him a message and Song Yan had his chauffeur come pick him up. They had taken two different routes; no entertainment journalist would be able to capture them within the same frame.

Song Yan headed directly to the company and asked Fang Yuan to wait for him in his office.

Although he’d all along been using the company email to work, and would also send messages through Yu Ze, it was always very inconvenient, and things were often delayed. So, on being able to come in like this today, he only felt incomparably overjoyed.

Fang Yuan was right then smiling as she waited for Second Young Master Song. She’d already seen the gossip regarding Second Young Master Song and the Film Emperor on the internet and had been under the impression that Second Young Master wouldn’t come into the office today.

Who’d have known that not only did Second Young Master Song come in, he’d even held a meeting right away and gave a lecturing to everyone that was present. He’d even brought out many of the incidents from the past few months to talk about, just as if he was rehashing old accounts.

At the end, Song Yan made Fang Yuan stay behind by herself, “There’s a few matters; you note them down.”

Fang Yuan showed a smile on her face, “Of course, Mr. Song.”

But inside Fang Yuan’s thoughts: “Did the Film Emperor kick him off the bed yesterday!?”

She’d felt that Second Young Master Song’s attitude had become much better over the past few months; sometimes she’d even felt like she was bathing in the spring breeze*. She was even about to suspect that Second Young Master Song had changed his personality just for the sake of courting.

* 如沐春風 – idiom; just like taking a bath in the wind of spring; warm, entirely free of worries; metaphor for meeting a teacher who’s kind and sincere in teaching

But now, she knew that, no, Second Young Master Song was still that Second Young Master Song.

Song Yan spoke about several company matters and Fang Yuan jotted them down one by one.

“Increase my security detail and the degree of confidentiality regarding schedules. And also, regarding the media, no matter what it is, do not give a response. Especially if it’s related to Yu Ze,” Song Yan said.

“I understand,” Fang Yuan replied.

“No,” Song Yan straightaway said, “You don’t understand!”

Fang Yuan was stunned, “Yes, I don’t understand.”

Song Yan let out a long sigh, “You see, it’s like this….if he wants to immediately disclose it, I can right away take his hand and appear in front of everyone, but…..”

Fang Yuan stared at Second Young Master Song, astonished.

Song Yan glanced at her, “Forget it.”

What was the point of telling Fang Yuan? The inside story couldn’t be told to anyone else, most especially the matter of Yu Ze being an Omega; this secret had to be carefully protected for Yu Ze.

“Have you written it all down?” He asked.

“Yes,” Fang Yuan said, “Strengthen security and deal with the media coldly.”

She believed she’d at last seen through it. Of all the people Second Young Master Song had ever met with, it was the Film Emperor who was the most incredible. At least, the Second Young Master Song at this moment was head over heels in love with him. She was truly impressed.

After Yu Ze left the villa, he went to arrange to meet up with Yu Xin.

Over this period of time, if he wanted to see Yu Xin, he would have to bring Song Yan along with him as it’d otherwise be too strange for “Second Young Master Song” to meet with Yu Xin by himself. Now, he could finally talk to Yu Xin alone.

He sat down with Yu Xin in a café to chat; mainly about Yu Xin’s plans for the future – her work, lifestyle and if there was anything she needed help with after she’d settled down over there.

But they hadn’t sat down for long before the paparazzi appeared outside of the store and had begun snapping away.

Yu Xin stirred her coffee and let out a “wow”.

“To tag along so desperately for photos, what huge news broke out today?” She smiled as she teased her older brother. She’d already seen yesterday’s gossip on the Internet.

“Are there still any secrets out on the Internet?” Yu Ze asked.

Yu Xin couldn’t help but be curious, and the topic shifted from herself to Yu Ze.

“Then what’s the deal with you and Song Yan? Are you guys planning to have a clandestine relationship?”

Yu Ze felt that his relationship with Song Yan couldn’t be considered a positive example for Yu Xin, and so he ambiguously said, “Nothing is certain as of now.”

“But,” Yu Xin said, “I think you like him a lot.”

What she’d seen before was Song Yan’s version of “Yu Ze” and how enthusiastic he was towards “Second Young Master Song”.

“I do like him a lot,” Yu Ze said.

He liked that undaunted passion of Song Yan’s and also his temperamental spirit. He liked Song Yan’s hugs and his scent, and he of course also liked the visage and figure that was just like a movie star’s. To say nothing about the fact that Song Yan also had an island.

“I do like him a lot,” he repeated again.

“But?” Yu Xin asked. She could hear it from the tone of her brother’s words; right behind the “I do like him a lot” was a contrasting “but”.

Song Yan returned to his senses and smiled, “There is no ‘but’. It’s only that we still need more time.”

Yu Xin immediately became suspicious, “It can’t be that….he wants to run after he bedded?”

She was ready to begin cursing.

Yu Ze laughed, “No! No such thing. What are you imagining?”

The one who wanted to run after he bedded the other wasn’t Song Yan; it was himself.

Author has something to say: These two are currently only doi*, haven’t marked yet. The set up is that a baby can only come after marking.

* doi -> do + “Ai” -> do + 愛 -> do + love -> lovemaking
