"These are the few Bi Mu Pearls from last time. Normally, each one can sell for about three to four years of life span. If you sell them all at once, you might have to take a fifty percent discount, so they would only fetch one to two years of life span." Ma Fei picked up the Bi Mu Pearls and played with them, then saw the few martial technique crystal boards and said in surprise, "Brother Bai, don't you like collecting martial technique crystal boards? Why are you selling them all? What's going on?"

"I'm preparing to advance to the rank of Viscount, so I need a large amount of life span to buy an armed suit." Bai Cangdong replied.

"Brother Bai, you're going to advance to Viscount so soon? This isn't a small matter; you need to think it through and be fully prepared." Ma Fei was surprised.

Bai Cangdong nodded but didn't say anything more.

"As for the martial technique crystal boards, their price is roughly the same as the martial techniques in secret manuals, at most they can be twice as valuable. Each of these crystal boards is worth about three to five years of life span." Putting down the crystal boards, Ma Fei looked at the other armed suits: "These armed suits are of good quality, each one should be worth over ten years of life span. Brother Bai, all your items together should fetch over a hundred years of life span, which is no small amount."

"Can you help me sell them in a short time?" Bai Cangdong asked.

"Give me ten days, and it shouldn't be a problem." Ma Fei thought for a moment and said.

"Then I'll leave it to you. Sell them as soon as possible."

"Brother Bai, which armed suit are you planning to buy? The armed suits used for advancing to Viscount are all extremely expensive. Although a hundred years of life span isn't a small amount, it's still a bit insufficient to buy such an armed suit."

"I want to buy the Ghost Thorn. Do you have any information on it?" Bai Cangdong knew that there were two people in Daolun City who owned Ghost Thorns. With his status as the leader of the Daolun Society and a large amount of life span, he should be able to buy the Ghost Thorn from them.

"Ghost Thorn? This armed suit is only effective against the Divine Maiden Archer. Do you want to kill the Divine Maiden Archer, Brother Bai!" Ma Fei was shocked.

"Yes." Bai Cangdong knew that he couldn't hide this matter; as soon as he bought the Ghost Thorn, everyone would know.

"How did you choose the Divine Maiden Archer? Her strength ranks among the top ten of all Viscount-level Undead. Plus, her location and flying ability make her almost the hardest Viscount-level Undead to kill."

"I have a way to deal with her, don't worry."

"I hope you've really thought it through, Brother Bai." Pausing, Ma Fei continued, "If you want to buy the Ghost Thorn, there's a good opportunity coming up. As far as I know, there are six or seven Ghost Thorns in Daolun City, but a few have disappeared. There are now four Ghost Thorns left in Daolun City, one of which is in the hands of Viscount Eight Fingers. Recently, Viscount Eight Fingers has run into some trouble and needs a large amount of life span, so he's planning to auction off some of his armed suits, including the Ghost Thorn. Our family has also been invited, and you can come with me."

"How much life span would it take to buy that Ghost Thorn?" Bai Cangdong asked.

"Although the Ghost Thorn is a Viscount-level armed suit that can break the Undead Light, its limitation is that it's only effective against the Divine Maiden Archer, so the price shouldn't be too high. Preparing over a hundred years of life span should be enough to secure it."

Bai Cangdong felt much more relieved. The items he had could fetch over a hundred years of life span, and he still had fifty to sixty years of life span left, which should be enough to buy the Ghost Thorn.

Ma Fei's efficiency was indeed fast. In just four days, he sold all of Bai Cangdong's items, fetching over a hundred and ten years of life span.

Viscount Eight Fingers had been having a tough time recently. To pay off his gambling debts, he had to sell some of his possessions. He called himself Viscount Eight Fingers because he used to be a heavy gambler and had two fingers cut off. To remind himself not to gamble, he used "Eight Fingers" as his title. However, he couldn't quit gambling, but as a Viscount, no one dared to cut off his fingers anymore.

He still had to pay his debts, though.

When Bai Cangdong arrived at Viscount Eight Fingers' residence, many Viscounts were already there. They all greeted him, as he was now the leader of the Daolun Society and one of the more influential figures in Daolun City.

Finding a place to sit, the auction began shortly after. The first few items weren't Bai Cangdong's target, but they were all very precious. The cheapest item sold for fifty years of life span, and the most expensive sold for a staggering one hundred and eighty years of life span.

"This is the Ghost Thorn, no need for me to introduce it. It's a product of the Night Valley. Although it's only a Viscount-level armed suit, for a Baron who needs to advance to Viscount, it's an invaluable treasure. There are only three in all of Daolun City. One is hung in the Count's hall as a decoration, another is in the hands of Viscount Wanlong, who has no intention of selling it. So this is your only chance. The starting price is one hundred years of life span. You can bid as you please." Viscount Eight Fingers held up a strange black longsword with a needle-like blade.

"Old Eight Fingers, what are you trying to sell here? Everyone knows the Ghost Thorn can only pierce the Undead Light of the Divine Maiden Archer. One hundred years of life span? You might as well keep it for yourself." Someone in the audience laughed.

"Cough, it's still a top-tier Viscount-level armed suit. Please place your bids." Viscount Eight Fingers called out several times, but the audience remained silent, with no one willing to bid on the Ghost Thorn.

"I'll bid one hundred and ten years." Just as Viscount Eight Fingers was regretting setting the price too high and fearing the Ghost Thorn wouldn't sell, someone in the audience bid.

Everyone's attention turned to the bidder. When they saw it was Bai Cangdong, their expressions became complicated.

"President Bai bids one hundred and ten years of life span. Is there anyone willing to bid higher? If not, the Ghost Thorn will go to President Bai." Viscount Eight Fingers quickly declared the sale, seemingly afraid Bai Cangdong would change his mind.

Bai Cangdong successfully obtained the Ghost Thorn, feeling very excited.

The news of Bai Cangdong buying the Ghost Thorn at Viscount Eight Fingers' auction quickly spread throughout the upper echelons of Daolun City. Many Viscounts were discussing the matter.

"That kid is really asking for it, thinking about going after the Divine Maiden Archer."

"Since becoming the leader of the Daolun Society, he really thinks he's someone. He doesn't even know what he is, yet he dares to provoke the Divine Maiden Archer. He's just asking for death."

"I think the Daolun Society will have a new leader soon."

"Barons these days are really bold. When I advanced to Viscount, I didn't even dare think about the Divine Maiden Archer. Even with the Black Death Blade, it was a matter of life and death to kill the Holy Light Wolf and advance to Viscount. The Divine Maiden Archer is more than ten times stronger than the Holy Light Wolf."

Almost no one in Daolun City was optimistic about Bai Cangdong. They all believed he would surely die if he went after the Divine Maiden Archer.

Bai Cangdong ignored the rumors. After obtaining the Ghost Thorn, he began planning when to set out for Lone Sky Cliff.

"Little man, are you really going to kill the Divine Maiden Archer?" Lady Red Lotus appeared silently in the room, surprised to see Bai Cangdong packing his belongings.

"I've been preparing for a long time. It's time to advance to Viscount." Bai Cangdong said calmly.

"Preparing for a long time? Are you joking? You've only been a Baron for less than a year. You've done a little bit of preparation and now you want to kill the Divine Maiden Archer? I think you're crazy." Lady Red Lotus's voice carried a hint of anger.

"I have my reasons, don't worry."

"You have reasons? That's a joke. So many Viscounts in Daolun City spent decades preparing before advancing. You've only been a Baron for a year, and you want to advance to Viscount and kill the Divine Maiden Archer? I think you're just looking for death." Lady Red Lotus grew angrier as she spoke.

Bai Cangdong didn't argue, just continued packing his things.

"Bai Cangdong, listen to me. I won't allow you to go." Lady Red Lotus said angrily.

"I've made up my mind to go." Bai Cangdong replied calmly.

"Is it for Yan Mengyun?" Lady Red Lotus bit her lower lip, trying to control her anger.

Bai Cangdong didn't answer, just put his packed belongings aside and sat on the bed, looking at Lady Red Lotus. After a while, he said, "If I come back alive, I'll fulfill my promise and get that thing for you."

"Are you determined to go?" Lady Red Lotus had calmed down, looking at Bai Cangdong coldly.

"I must go." Bai Cangdong answered firmly.

"Then go to your death." Lady Red Lotus threw something at Bai Cangdong's face and stormed out of the room.

Bai Cangdong caught the item that fell from his face and realized it was an armed suit, a Baron-level gold silk armor.

Wind Cicada Silk Armor: Light as air, strong as steel.

Holding the silk armor, Bai Cangdong felt a bit moved. Lady Red Lotus wasn't really as cruel and heartless as she seemed, at least not to him.

Putting on the silk armor and packing his belongings, Bai Cangdong took one last look at his small home, then gently closed the door and left Daolun City, heading straight for Lone Sky Cliff.

On the city wall, Lady Red Lotus watched Bai Cangdong's gradually disappearing figure, her expression extremely strange: "What a strange guy, sometimes selfish and cowardly, sometimes stubborn and terrifying. I hope you come back alive."
